Absolutely unacceptable experience at Armstrong Auto Care. After having my vehicle for several hours, they waited until about 20 minutes before closing to inform me that they were unable to change a tire because they allegedly do not have the tools to service a BMW. Let that sink in. This is not even the first time this has happened. Years ago, when this same shop was operating under the name Doral Auto Care, I experienced the exact same issue. Back then, as now, I was asked whether I had a "special lug nut key" at my house. Newsflash: I'm not a mechanic. If the dealership or manufacturer provided anything special, it would be in the vehicle, not sitting in my home. They claimed it wasn't there. At the last minute, I was given two ridiculous options: 1. Rush over within 10 minutes before closing to empty my trunk so they could try to search for tools themselves, or 2. Pay $85 for them to replace all the lug nuts with something "universal" -- conveniently, something they do have the tools for. This isn't customer service. It's laziness, poor communication, and complete ineptitude. An auto shop that cannot handle basic, common manufacturers should not be holding customers' cars all day only to spring this kind of nonsense at closing time. I spoke with one of the managers, Felipe, and there was no accountability, no solution, and no professionalism. Save yourself the time and frustration. If I could I would give them 0 stars by the way I was treated. I have taken my care a few times here which is an older sports car. I never had a major issue except for the fact they would break a part due to the age of the car. I took their word that it was due to the age of the car since it is over 12 years old with original parts. I did not like the fact that they would make me pay for the part although they did cover the labor. But if you break it you should pay for it in my opinion. I thought it was a quality shop until I had to replace a major part. I was helped by Freddy initially and then another manager, please do not trust this guy Freddy, he seems genuine and a good guy but it is a fake persona. He is a very dishonest person unfortunately. When this part was replaced they had to take some thing apart in my engine that brought my rpms below 5000 because they broke a part again. I brought it back and they actually fixed it without charging me the parts surprisingly. As I took it home there was a burning smell coming into the cabin after they told me they test drove it and made sure every thing was in order. After this incident I lost faith in them and saw them as incompetent. I took my car to the dealership where the master mechanic of over 30 years told me they installed the wrong part which was causing my car to over heat and burn hot. I showed Doral Auto Care the results from the dealership and they told that the master mechanic who is an expert in these cars was incorrect and that they installed the correct part. They told me that if I wanted a 2nd opinion it would have to be a shop within the umbrella of their warranty service and they recommended me a shop. Since I found them to be incompetent and dishonest I did not take it to that shop but another that was under the same warranty company. They told me the same, that the part was incorrect and also that my o2 sensor was damaged which was most likely caused by them for it sits right next to the part they replaced and I had no issue with the o2 sensor prior to the repair but of course it could not be proven. I then returned to Doral Auto Care with the results and asked to speak to the owner about a refund and that I would gladly give the part they installed back to them. They refused so I was stuck whether paying more money at another shop to replace the part or to continue to get it fixed at Doral Auto Care. I took a week to ponder my situation looking at my financials for the repair cost me $2,000 and I had spent an additional $400 getting a 2nd and then 3rd opinion (which was suppose to be covered by Doral Auto Care but never was). I needed time to reflect. When I contacted them again the manager I was dealing with was fired and had to speak to Freddy about what happen and he acted as though he knew nothing about the situation. I explained that the part was incorrect and he arrogantly replied that it was impossible for they do the best research to get the best quality part possible at the lowest price. He told me in order to install the correct part they would have to modify it making it an illegal part. I immediately called the other mechanics to ask if this was true and they both told me he was lying. So he was trying to hustle me out of the correct part because the correct part cost more than the one they installed. They charged me the full price of the correct part and put a cheap knock off in my car. I did the research and the one they installed was $500 less but that did not reflect the bill that I was given. Armed with the knowledge given to me by the other mechanics I kept telling him he was wrong and he kept arguing with me until finally after a few days he gave in and got the correct part on my car and installed it. What a terrible person. Please do trust him or any one who works there, they are all just as dishonest. Freddy was very polite initially when I was getting my car repaired but once this incident happened and I explained the whole situation he became very rude and vulgar. Almost as though he was trying to intimidate me. He has a very poor quality of character and as I mentioned his demeanor is a fake persona. You will hear him say a phrase that he would tell me every time I would get a repair "I checked my magic crystal ball and have figured out the problem....." it is just a cheezy line to mask their incompetence. I was also told I would be compensated for the tow as well as the damaged caused by them to my car seats. They had oil stains all over my white car seats but was never compensated for it. Overall with the damages, the tow, as well as the 2nd and 3rd opinions I lost over $600 that they never compensated me for. Please do not come to this shop we should not support people like Freddy. read more

Took my fathers car for an a/c job. They quoted 1800 had the job done. It required taking the dash apart. When I got the car back and went through it discovered some damage. The ac vent was broken, the face plate to the center counsel was cracked,tons of scratches, greasey hand print on cream color interior passenger seat had a cut in the leather and returned very dirty. When I confronted the staff they said its part of business and it's expected to have some damage for that type of job. Took it for repair not to be damaged. Sorry was told owner would call me never did. Etc the run around. I went to get an estimate for the damage 1300.00 to repair what they damaged and 125.00 to detail still could not get all the stains out. Been going there for over 10 years when Sam owned it never had an issue and it was sold to a new group, the new operators are no good avoid taking your car. These guys are the absolute best. I live in Chicago now and have seriously told my wife that I want to drive to Miami and while I'm there have my car serviced at Doral Auto Care. My best memory of this place is about 6 years ago when my Mercedes needed new tires. I got a quote and thought it was a fair price. When I got the final bill, the price was lower. So, I told them there must be some mistake and offered to pay what I was quoted. They told me that they got a deal for buying 4 tires from them and wanted to pass on the savings back to me. On 4/19/2019 I went and got a full synthetic oil change & filter $69.99. today they want to charger me $100 they ripping off people money there, and the reason is because they got a new owner and a new machine for oil change( since when you need a machine for an oil change) hahaha, so please Don't Go there if you don't want to get overcharged for oil change and labor.
