What a pleasant experience! I called about sealing a minor crack on my windshield on a Tuesday after work....by Wednesday morning it was fixed! I called in and spoke with Jeremy who, while I was on the line, connected me to my insurance to get it approved for a free fix. The whole conversation took about 15 minutes. After arranging the details, Jeremy came to my work parking lot and fixed the crack while I was inside. It was probably one of the most convenient car-related issue I've ever had. While I can still totally see the crack, I can't expect them to un-crack glass, but I do have the reassurance that it isn't going to shatter on me when I go over a speed bump. They lie. I called to get a quote on my windshield replacement and they quoted me a price of $170. I purchase an Amazon coupon for $40 off $110 service that I had intended to apply to the cost. So I call back and let them know I would like the service and that I have a coupon, and they inform me that the price I was quoted was incorrect and actual price would be $230.. effectively cancelling out any discount. Pleasant and personable representative greeted me as I walked through the door. Less than a quarter inch crack that I didn't want to spread so thought I'd get it filled. The first price quoted was $50 but I wasn't willing to pay that much where other places charge $20 for same job and Amazon sells a Rain-x product that would take care for $15 with my own "labor". I ended up agreeing to $35 paid for a job that the guy spent literally less than two minutes on and still see the crack at the same size as it was when the pebble hit my windshield. Honestly, even the discounted price of $35 felt like I got taken for a ride and figure I should have gone with the Amazon $15 or $20 from somewhere else options to get it fixed instead. The repair job just wasn't that good especially to be on the costly side of options to get it done. Please don't pay $50 for a windshield crack repair! Entire brand new windshields typically run for under $200 and the regular price for repairing a crack on site in Austin is $20. The process is simple to drill a tiny hole at the crack then suck some epoxy resin into the hole and crack. It only takes a couple minutes - there's no real skill or art to the labor and the tools are as cheap as a suction tube of glue and household drill with tiny bit. I won't be going back for almost twice the standard rate as elsewhere even with a discount. (Groupon or just ask.) read more

I had done a little research and got a few quotes before I found out about them - their quotes were around 25-30% lower than most of the others I received. I came across a Living Social coupon for these guys and decided to finally do something about the monstrous crack running from top to bottom across my windshield. The owner, Jeremy, was very responsive to my emails ( I like to do my research before making a commitment ). The quote he provided was also spot-on with the one provided by my insurance company. Thanks to the voucher, I ended up saving about $100 on the full replacement. I met the repair guy (Charlie) at my apartment, and was able to get back to work in about an hour. Jeremy also stopped by to run the payment. The repair happened today, so I haven't had much opportunity to inspect the craftsmanship (though on first glance, everything looks great). What can I say, of course I came back here for my cracked window needs! The crack repair didn't hold and I needed the full windshield replaced. I called JRD and they installed it while I worked out at my gym. It looks marvelous and I'm more than satisfied with the pricing. The amount I paid for the initial crack was deducted from the windshield repair. It took the guys about 30 to replace the entire thing and they were very courteous and friendly. The technician was prompt and friendly, despite trying to start working before we finalized the price-I had to ask and then call the office to talk about the estimate, which was $20 less due to taxes and fees. He ended up charging me the price of the original estimate. The tech damaged my inspection sticker in the process, which is apparently very rare. He told me that I just needed to "go to the DMV and they'll give you a new one for free" and went on his merry way. Ok, no big deal, I have better stuff to do, but hey, DMV's aren't so bad in Texas. Turns out that was distinctly not true. Not even a little bit. I spent an entire day driving around and wasting gas to find out that there is no motor vehicle agency or public institution that will just give you another inspection sticker. And I can only assume that because I visited them ALL, and they just kept sending me to another agency, or one that I had previously visited. End result? I had to get the car re-inspected. Stickers are so tightly regulated that this is literally (not figuratively) the only way you'll get a new inspection sticker if you lose or damage yours. I spoke to the office representative a few times during this process. He was friendly, pleasant and followed up with me throughout the process. He issued me a refund for the second inspection fee, and lately offered to comp my tank of gas. I'd call these guys again. read more

My experience with JRD was exceptional. We were visiting Trailer Food Tuesday at the Long Center and had parked behind the Dougherty Arts Center, near the railroad track. Apparently providing great cover for thieves. Anyway, they did a smash and grab, smashing the passenger front window. Calling JRD We called JRD the next morning because of some good reviews on Yelp. The woman who answered was helpful, efficient and gave a fair price for a repair later that afternoon between 3pm-5pm. When I asked how long they would have the car, they explained that it was a mobile service and they would come to us. Winner, winner, chicken dinner right there. Installation Esparza showed up about 3:30pm. He was very courteous and professional. Really good dude. My 7 year old son sat outside the drivers door, fascinated by the process. Esparza worked like a machine and my son loved seeing the inside of the door. Esparza was thorough in cleaning/vacuuming out all the glass, while explaining the some more pieces might eventually turn up. He was done in less than 30 minutes probably. (They did ask if they could plug the extension cord into an outlet at my house, which was totally fine with me. It is possible they have a small generator or 110 outlet in their van in case they can't reach an outlet.) Payment JRD uses Square for payment and Esparza walked through the process, having me visually confirm the quoted price on the screen and pressing ok. Closing Overall just a really great process. Stupid 18 wheeler dump trucks and their rock throwing! I was on top of it and went immediately to get the crack filled in at JRD. After the work you could barely even tell, it was more like a hairline fracture. To my disappointment a day later the crack had doubled in size. I went in again to have it filled hoping that this would be the final visit. 2 days after that I could tell that the crack was still growing. I called Jeremy immediately to see what other options there were. He apologized for not being able to fix the crack and then offered to replace the windshield at their cost, $160. My car was a lease and I was going to have to get the windshield replaced anyway so that worked for me. I can't say for sure whether or not another place could have repaired the crack correctly the first time or if it was just unfixable. I will say that I got great customer service from JRD and Jeremy and I would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

When I called Jeremy and he told me where it was, I realized I had driven by it a million times and never paid attention. He told me to come on in and it would take 20 minutes or less. When I got there, Jeremy was friendly and personable. He took a look at my chip and he called up the insurance company. It was really easy and completely free because most insurance companies will fully cover a chip, so that it doesn't turn into a larger amount of damage. He fixed it up in a matter of minutes. Jared was quick to get back to me when I made contact via email and got me in on a Saturday morning at 9:30. It took him about 20 minutes to repair some cracks the the windshield of my FJ Cruiser (one was quite a doozy). He was polite, professional, and gave me a realistic expectation as to what the repair would fix. He over-delivered and now I feel much better about driving my car. The windshield doesn't look "good as new", but much better than it used to and I don't need to worry about the cracks spreading. They're very reasonably priced and great to work with. I'm a huge fan! I had a BAD crack in the windshield. Jeremy was honest in the potential to fix it and gave me my options. I was afraid I would have to replace the windshield, which because of the type of car, would be about $500. He was able to make the crack nearly invisible with a fill and worked with my insurance to have it paid for by them. I've got to say, Jeremy really went above and beyond helping me repair my windshield. Other companies stated I needed to seek out the dealer to replace the window since my car was "too new". Dealership wanted a ridiculous fee and wouldn't work with insurance. Statefarm recommended Jeremy to me and Jeremy went above and beyond, ordered my window from the dealer for me and installed it two-three days later. Not only that, but also because my car is "new" it needed to be recalibrated (apparently anytime the window is replaced) due to the lane departure alert system. This was a headache in itself because this could only be done by the dealer who yet again wanted to charge hundreds of dollars. Jeremy took this on, covered the costs so that my car could be fixed.
