There's always a silver lining! ;) Last night the battery light came on my car's dashboard and stayed on the entire drive home. So I called AAA this morning as they had installed my battery last year. They sent a guy out (I don't remember his name) and he diagnosed it as an alternator problem. Since my normal auto shop is in Arcadia, he recommended a place nearby that he promised is run by "honest people" and would treat me well. So we took my car there and he introduced me to VJ. He said VJ would take good care of my car and left. I ended up leaving my car with VJ so he could run diagnostics on it and walked home since it was 0.5 miles away. Later VJ called and confirmed that I needed to replace my alternator and gave me a couple options. After discussion I chose one option and he said he would order it and install it later in the afternoon and it should be ready within a few hours. I got a call once it was ready and went to go pick up my car. VJ saw me walk in and met me in the office to process my paperwork/payment. I was so pleasantly surprised to find my total was less than what he quoted me on the phone! I think maybe bc of the AAA guy? VJ said he applied some discounts to my total. Thank you so much VJ!!! I drove my car home and so far it seems great. I also got to meet Jack before I left and he seemed really nice too. While I do really like the auto shop I use in Arcadia, I have been wanting to find a place closer to me but I didn't know who I could trust. It's never fun having to deal with things going wrong with your car but thanks to my dead alternator and the recommendation of the AAA guy, I have found a local place that I can trust! Varouj is the best! I called him Thursday, he told me to bring my car in the very next morning. I took it in at 8:30am Friday morning. He ran the diagnostics, changed my 4 breaks, fixed the check engine light, changed the oil and replaced our windshield wiper. He had everything done the same day! We picked it up at 4:30pm. A+ Customer Service, Fair Pricing, No B.S. I had to bring in my Toyota Corolla 2010 for some repairs I've been needing for a while. I knew it would be expensive. VJ was incredibly professional, kind, and very responsive. He created an estimate for me, and I shopped it around to some of the best rated local places on Yelp. He came in very fairly priced on comparison, so given how quick and well he treated me , decided to get the Axle/CV joints and brakes replaced with him. Even though I dropped it off later in the day, he had it back to me within a day. After work was complete, I was concerned about a burning grease smell coming off the car. He said it was normal for new brakes and CV joints, but told me to bring it back so that one of his mechanics , Jack, can take a look at it. Much like VJ, Jack was incredibly professional, kind, and quickly diagnosed the problem (which was a leaking radiator hose connection). He ordered the part and had it repaired within an hour. And all of this, free of charge! I'll be definitely bringng my vehicle here the next time! As a woman, I felt incredibly comfortable here. I'm so used to auto body shops treating me like I'm stupid and up charging me for all sorts of nonsense. Firestone screwed me over, and VJ helped save me. He got me a new rack and pinion for my vehicle at a much lower price than Firestone wanted for it. In addition to the successful work, VJ's personality made it a pleasant experience. He remembered me from a previous phone call, knew exactly who I was when I came in, took my car back right away to take a look and confirm the repairs I needed. He said he'd be done by 4:00, and he was! Everything was on time. He even waited for me a few minutes past closing to assure me everything was fine. I've only been in once so far, and I need to go back in a couple weeks for a check-up to make sure everything is still good. (I like that he requests to follow up on the work he's done.) Had a great experience at J's! Recently had an oil change somewhere else and they mentioned I needed a new wheel hub on my front right tire and they could do it for $500. I ended up coming to J's to get a second opinion. VJ helped me out and was really nice! Turns out I did need the new wheel hub on both front wheels. But J's did 2 whekchufor me for the same price as the other place charged for 1! VJ also had my car ready to go the same day! Will be returning for any future car needs. Thanks!! Then I had to come back again in the same week because there was a nail in my tire. VJ was awesome! He checked it out and luckily the nail didn't puncture my tire! Been here a couple of times for an oil change. I would just bring my car over since it's a short walk from my apartment. The first time, it took a couple hours, but they called me to tell me my car was ready. The second time, it did take a while. I actually had to call them because they close early on Saturdays. And they were like, "Oh yeah, it's been ready." Never got a call. So minus one star for that. But otherwise, great people here and service is great. Gets busy so call for an appointment perhaps. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS!! I work in Burbank and can easily drop off my car for oil/filter changes twice a year and pick up my car after work serviced. On one occasion they recommended brake pad replacement, which I was expecting to be needed shortly, and completed the job while I worked. On another occasion I had an engine light come on during the morning commute, brought it in, had the issue be a gasket on the turbo, got the gasket replaced and picked up my car with no issue at the end of the day. This shop is incredible! Had to get the wheel bearing replaced on a wheel and new brake pads. Very reasonably priced (had to get an emergency wheel bearing replaced on a different wheel out of state and it was double the price...and people say California is expensive!) and the work was done quickly. As promised, I told J's I would write a review because of how impressed I am with their service. VJ really did me a solid when he took it upon himself to order an additional part for my A/C and install, because it was not originally the whole reason why I brought the car in. And since it was not discussed prior, he included it at no extra cost. It wasn't an expensive part, but my A/C had been chirping for years and when I took it to the dealership they basically told me it was a very expensive part and not to fix it until it broke. Basically they were too lazy to change a part that was included in the warranty and lied to me about it. So, for that I am extremely thankful. I also wanted to point out that after my repairs, the car began to shake because it wasn't fully balanced. They took the car back in one second, made the tweak and now I am good as gold. It's refreshing to find a place that does honest work, for a great price and has amazing customer service. Burbank is very lucky! read more

My 2012 Ford Edge had a significant leak that made it dangerous to drive. I called J's Auto Clinic and was told to bring it in the same day. VJ was extremely professional and respectful, explaining to me what was wrong and what steps would be taken to fix it. I met my dream mechanic about 4 years ago, but he sadly closed down his shop. Took my car here for years while I lived in Burbank. I needed my engine rebuilt and they didn't offer this in-house, but they have relationships with outside mechanics, and they were able to fix it.
