I rolled into Dave's today during the storm because I had an emergency -- and I'm sure they were wondering why a Tesla was pulling in for an oil change. My wife has been coming here regularly since she first started driving, so it's safe to say we've been customers for over 12 years. One of the panels on the back of my Tesla came undone after driving through a deep puddle and started scraping the ground. I still had to make it from Burbank back to Lake Balboa, so I took a chance. I walked into Dave's, explained the situation, and asked if I could pull in just to get some help popping the panel back into place. Not only did they let me pull right in, they went above and beyond. They didn't just snap it back in -- they took their time, inspected it, replaced some bolts, and even zip-tied it to make sure it was properly secured. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that at all. It was a really pleasant surprise, and I wanted to leave this review to show my appreciation. They didn't charge me anything, even though they easily could have. I was fully ready to pay -- even said I'd pay for an oil change -- but they didn't ask for a thing. I told them lunch was on me and tipped the crew a blue face to say thank you. We get our oil changes here regularly, and they're always kind, efficient, and honest. There's nothing better than supporting a family-owned business that genuinely looks out for people. Oil change every 4000 miles with these guys. The longest I've waited at this location for a complete service of my Nissan Pathfinder is 15 minutes. When the invoice comes it's NEVER A BAIT AND SWITCH dread of charges changing either. No up charges for "cabin filters," it's the same price every time. I was due for an oil change and my friend had recommended this place. I drove by around noon on a weekday and saw that it wasn't busy at all. You have to go in through Biloxi Ave in order to line up and come out through Magnolia Blvd. When I went in there was only 1 other car in front of me. I waited for them to finish (about 5ish minutes) and then they asked me to pull up to the spot where they would be working on my car. They immediately started working on my car. There is a small couch where you can sit and wait for your service to be done; there is a TV as well. They checked my tire pressure (added air as needed), liquids (topped them off), and brakes (inspection). Once my service was done, they rung me up, and brought me my bill. My total came out to about $86 for synthetic oil. I was a bit surprised that they didn't verify or just notify me of what they were going to charge me up front, in case there was any confusion about pricing since it's not listed anywhere. I wasn't shocked about what my end total was, but I do think it could prevent any misunderstanding or unexpected cost for someone who isn't sure what an oil change can cost these days. From beginning to end, I was there for about 15 minutes. Everyone was friendly and I appreciate how fast they are, so you can definitely come in during your lunch and get it done. It's close to my area so it's definitely convenient. I wanted to have my oil changed in my car and I called my regular place that has 2 locations in the Valley and there were no appointments till Monday (called on a Wednesday!). I got fed up with them and I started to think about going to some other place. I remembered Dave's Quick Lube being so kind to us when we had a nail stuck in a tire. Also a friend recommended this place, I called, no appointment needed, first come, first serve. Fine by me, I don't mind waiting. I stopped by from my errands in Burbank this afternoon and we got helped right away, there were no cars around. Got the oil changed, other fluids checked and taken care of, air put in the tire. These guys have it worked out so well that we were out of there in maximum 15 minutes! We barely had time to take photos, look around, didn't even finish checking my emails! There's a small waiting area, a restroom and prices are reasonable, everyone was nice and helpful. Closed on Sundays! It is also fun to see the movies and the shows they worked on and the headshots of actors who had their cars taken care of here. That used to be the norm in LA, headshots on the wall, now not so much. So it was great to see familiar actors that came to Dave's. Headshots on the wall in LA is a tradition that needs to continue! Immediately noticed it was a local business ran by Hispanics which I am for! Oil change took 7 minutes....they also filled my tires with air (free of charge) staff was friendly. Dave and his elite crew-- seemingly all former NASCAR pit mechanics, have changed my oil, replaced the oil filter, aired up tires to proper PSI, topped off windshield washer fluid, and paid in under 5 minutes flat, from the time I pulled onto the property around back, until all 4 wheels are back on Magnolia! Go mid-day during off-peak times of day, and you'll be glad you did. I have been coming here since 1992 when I got my 1st car a '78 Monte Carlo. Every car I've had from my Jeep to a Pathfinder and even a '64 Cadillac ...every time Excellent service! I called them to ask about an oil change for my '23 Honda Accord and they helped me answer my questions regarding the type of oil it would need and how much it would cost. They quoted me a very reasonable price: ~$86! This is better than JiffyLube or Valvoline, or other auto service chains that were quoting me more than $120 for an oil change!! After the call, I went and got my oil changed (enter through alley behind the shop). I waited no more than 10 minutes, in that time they did a 360 check on my car and even filled my tires with air to balance them out. They have a waiting area with magazines and a TV, which is cool! Been going here for years. Had problems with them improperly installing clips or failing mentioning broken engine cover clips. Hasn't happened again until this month when I brought in another car for an oil change and filter. Noticed oil on the driveway after the oil change. Brought it back to Dave's quick lube. After an "inspection " they said it was a leak behind the motor, nothing to do with them. Car never leaked anything before this oil change! My mechanic just inspected the car on a lift said that oil leak was from the oil change that was performed!! Also engine cover clips/screws were not installed properly!! I spoke with Dave's quick lube. NO apologies just denial saying it wasn't from the job they did. Just lost my respect, trust and business. Would give 0 stars if I could read more

I was the first customer in. I brought my own oil and filter, which they allow for, but want cash payment for just the labor. I said great. I also asked them if they could replace my 4 spark plugs on top of my engine--I also had my own new set with me. He said it would be an additional 40 dollars, to which I told him "I felt that that was a little ridiculous". Yes. I said those exact words. Yes. Yes I did. I said them calmly and clearly and simply. Then--immediately-- Without words, and with extreme urgency, he gathered my oil and filter, opened my car door, set them inside and told me to leave. More than a bit over-reactive for my taste. So if the person above whose review is "I wonder why it's so empty there" still needs an answer...my experience may lend some insight as to why. Honestly, I feel like I showed up on a Monday morning stood in front of an unhappy man coming off a rough weekend. I get it. Could I have chosen a more agreeable word to let him know I thought his price was unreasonable? You bet. 100%.
