I usually make the trip to GhetroCenter because they have the best Barbers in the greater phoenix area in my opinion. Well this was very close to the cut quality I would get from there. I took my son here, for the first time, just a few minutes ago. He is so disappointed in the haircut he received. He and I explained to the barber that he wanted a mid-fade comb over and the guy totally botched it. It's a skinned haircut, no midfade, with lots of mistakes. I went into the barber shop looking to see if i wanted a haircut or not while waiting, a lady asked if i wanted a haircut and i politely insisted ill wait to see how my friends were looking to see if i wanted to my hair cut here. She then procceded to get agressive with question then walked away and proceeded to talk about me in spanish. Little did she know is speak it and procceded to call me and d**k head and complained how everyone cut the same. I was just curious on how cuts came out. Called and asked if I could get my hair cut if I got there before 6. (When they closed). They said yes if you get here before 6 we will take you. I get there at 5:49 and the employees were doing hand gestures to another employee to not let me in. Will never do business there again. read more

Best haircut for men in the west valley. I have been coming here for over a year now and have never been upset with any part of it. They are true barbers and always give a great haircut and wrap it up with a strait razor shave and short shoulder massage. I moved to the W Valley from KC. I was lucky enough to stumble in to this place for my first haircut. I have never been anywhere else since. They do a great job, very detailed. They finish with a hot towel and straight razor. A fantastic Barber shop experience every time. They can get a little busy, but 10 chairs works through a crowd pretty quick. This by far has been the WORST barbershop experience I have ever had. I will start that I am a black male . Let's begin! So about 3 weeks ago I came to this barbershop signed my name and was waiting my turn . I waited 2 and half hours just to get seen! Another white woman even insisted I go before her son because she knew people who came in after me were being seen before me and it didn't seem right. The whole time I sat there they all were looking at me and laughing and saying things in Spanish which made me uncomfortable . But AFTER that I just went back yesterday and the dude in the back left messed my hair and line UP! So BAD! and then I call in to ask for them to fix it or refund me (while sitting in the parking lot overlooking the absolutely HORRID haircut I received ) and she says to come back tomorrow at 3:30 . I get there 5 minutes early and she cut 2 other peoples hair before I get in the chair so that's almost an hour wait . Now we are at the point of her fixing it and she has an attitude and makes it look EVEN WORSE!!! AND STILL CHARGED ME BOTH TIMES!!! I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN AND I WISH NOTHING BUT THE WORSF FOR THAT ESTABLISHMENT ! Negative 5 stars ! read more

I've been going here for four years now and I have never come across such fast and high quality service. Literally, if you go in the morning, you will never have to wait. Not only are they quick and provide well quality haircuts, but they are all very profession. I strongly recommend going to J's to get a haircut. Personally, I don't like the loud barber shops, where folks can shop the crap with barbers. I like that it's peaceful and pretty chill. Also, unlike a lot of barber shops in the Phoenix area, you don't feel judged when you walk in. They are very hospitable. However, the only thing i would change is the pricing. As the global economic crisis continues to grow, 17 dollars plus tips is a lot to ask for. Strongly recommend! read more

Went in today with my grandson to get us cuts, and they have a large sign posted indicating they are now charging a fee to use your debit card. Seriously, they think passing on the cost of their money bank fees needs to be paid for by the customer??? So, we left and went to another close shop and got great cuts for about 2/3rd the price and no card fee. Bad idea, J's. Here is what you will lose - two haircuts plus tip per month for 12 month ($36X12) or $432 because you are too concerned about a credit card fee when no other competitor charges one. read more

I went the other day and there was a long wait so I came back the next day. Still a bit of a wait but worth it. They don't rush the haircut. I like that they use scissors and a straight razor instead of just taking clippers to your head. In case you're wondering, they can do "white guy" haircuts, not just the basic fade. Generally a great place for a guys haircut. However, today they seemed to be very short staffed, 3-4 barbers. Usually every chair is staffed. I showed up at 1:00pm as of 2:15pm, still waiting. It seems that the Dominos Pizza delivery guy was more important than the customers. Yes, I will be back, hopefully service will be quicker. Perhaps more staff will be on hand. read more

I have been getting my hair cut there since it opened. Owners are really nice couple and barbers are top notch.

Came in for the last time. There are only two barbers that are great at doing haircuts. Luis is the best one. The final straw was when I got ramone or something. His name started with an R. Worst haircut I've received in 5 years. I actually stopped him after he cut the sides and tried to start cutting the top. I had showed him a picture and it was the same cut I always got. He wouldn't use scissors only used clippers even trying to cut the top of my head. I got 4 people who stopped me at work and said damn who messed your hair up. I would say this is a one time thing but if I can't get Luis then there is no point going. I called to make an appointment because I knew there would be a line. I walked in was next the owner said you have to sign up. I said I called and scheduled an appointment. I watched the owner yell at Luis and then he had to remove my name from list and put me on the bottom. Now that is unprofessional. I'm giving this place two stars because of Luis.
