In December we had an issue with the ice maker and we had to defrost the refrigerator. My freezer was packed! I called J Broadway and told them I had no where to put my food while the refrigerator defrosted. They sent over a loaner refrigerator. My new refrigerator is now working! I just bought a washing machine at J's Broadway appliance and it was a great experience. A Salesperson there was very helpful and informative without being pushy. Although I was pretty sure I was going to get a washing machine in the front of store display the gentleman working there showed me some things in the back he had on clearance. Also my machine was delivered two days later unlike Home Depot which had at least a week's wait for delivery.The gentleman that delivered were quick, efficient, and polite.  While I was in the store a customer came in with a problem with something they had bought. Impossible to have done better than J's Broadway Appliance in purchasing our double wall oven. From the minute I walked into the store until installation was complete was perfection. The knowledge and expertise of the owners and staff is unsurpassed. This installation involved cabinet alterations and with the assist and contacts provided was accomplished in a timely manner. J's made what could have been a stressful process seamless. My old (21 years) stove died. I went to J's and they had one similar to my old one but with a convection oven (wasn't even available on the old one). They delivered my new stove in 2 days, hooked it up with a new cord and removed the old one. The delivery guys even played with my dog. I love my new stove and J's! read more

J's Broadway Appliance deserves the rating of a ZERO! On August 10, 2022, I visited this establishment looking for a washing machine. A young gentleman took his time and helped me. At one point, he asked the older gentleman with glasses to answer a few questions I had. He was extremely rude and absolutely DEMEANING! He was going to show me a GE but it was all wrapped up. There were 3 other men who worked there, just lurking around us. He was unwilling to show me what I wanted and did not even ask the workers to help unwrap the machine so I could view it. Instead, he printed out a piece of paper with a model # on it and then proceeded to undermine me as he talked about taxes, set up , and removal. If I were a man, this would NOT have occurred. I strongly advise that if you are a single, middle aged woman looking for any type of appliances, DO NOT waste your time nor your energy at J's. I have been discriminated against ,as well as, demeaned in front of the other workers. On another note, there prices are NOT competitive. This FAMILY owned business should simply shut down if they are willing to BERATE women and act unprofessionally. read more

So happy we found Js. We were looking for appliances for our rental that we completely renovated. They have all price ranges. Super high end to normal range. I assumed they would be more expensive than say a Sears. But they weren't. They has a bundle on deal for well under $2000. They delivered within the week. Our tenant was excited at the quality, while we were excited to have the deal! The delivery team was great. They really knew what they were doing and they were in and out quickly. I had multiple awful experiences dealing with the scheduler trying to have an appliance repaired under a recall notice. I called on 11/17/17 to arrange for the repair and was told the part had to be ordered and that I'd receive a call (to schedule the repair) when the part arrived. I called back on 12/21/17 to check whether the part came in. I was told "it just arrived this morning" (amazing!)(I just spoke with another authorized repair center and was told the wait is about 5-7 business days to receive the part) and that the scheduler would call me back in 20 minutes to schedule the repair. He didn't call. I called back the next day and spoke with the scheduler. I scheduled the repair for 1/2/18 between 9:00 AM & noon. I was told the repair person would could in advance. As of 11:15 AM on 1/2/18 I hadn't heard from anyone at J's so I called to check the status of the repair. The scheduler got on the phone and told me he needed to reschedule to another date for the repair. He said the repair person got tied up on an earlier repair. (He never offered an explanation why he wouldn't just come later. I suspect I was never on the schedule.) I asked if he was ever planning to call me to let me know the repair person wasn't coming or if the burden was on me to call and find out. He said it had just happened and he was going to call me to let me know. Considering his track record I chalked that one up as another lie. If you like being cast aside and repeatedly treated like you're insignificant you should call J's Broadway Appliance right away. If your time is worth anything at all go elsewhere. read more

We really try to shop local so was pleased to find a competitive price at J's Broadway for the new dryer we needed. I called and talked to the salesman, Joe, over the phone and within 10 minutes had the dryer ordered and a scheduled delivery date without even having given them a penny. I went into the store a few days later and paid for the appliance and it was delivered by a couple of very nice fellows 2 days later. I was very impressed with the ease of the transaction, but have a few negative observations. 1. When I went into the store to pay for the appliance the gentleman I dealt with was very unfriendly, had I dealt with him from the beginning I would probably not have purchased my dryer there. 2. I was never called to schedule the delivery. When I paid for the appliance I was told I would be contacted later that day to schedule an appointment. The only stipulation I left was that it couldn't be between 9-10. I took Monday off from work for the delivery and was called by the deliveryman to say he was on his way at 8:50. I explained that they had never called me to schedule the appointment and at it would have to be later in the morning which he did accommodate, but all could have been avoided if they had just called me to schedule as promised. Overall I would recommend the store but even buying local doesn't get you 100% positive customer service experience we are all looking for read more

Our 19-year-old refrigerator was dying, and we were in danger of losing a weeks' worth of groceries. I needed a replacement fast. I shopped online and found prices for the Samsung model we selected. All prices were comparable but the earliest I could get one delivered was two weeks out. I found J's online and the price was comparable to the others. I ordered the refrigerator and it was installed in two days (as promised). No problems. The service they provide is seamless and takes the hassle out of buying appliances. Absolutely AWFUL! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. I bought ALL appliances here 3 MONTHS AGO, they put themselves out as having excellent customer service, they will take care of you blah blah blah. I purchased SIX large appliances from them in one day. You'd think a customer spending THOUSANDS would get some support, right? WRONG!!! TWO of the SIX appliances purchased have completely stopped working. Getting them to fix or replace anything under warranty is an absolute nightmare. They claim they're not responsible, it's not they're problem, someone else has to fix it, so and so is on vacation, etc. When I asked them how they could justify treating customers this way, the answer was that I "just have bad luck". Not worth anyone's time or frustration. Purchasing from J's is WORST decision you can make. read more

Interesting..No reviews since 2010. I walked into J's on 1/29/2014 with both employees at the front desk each busy with a customer. I entered the T V area spent 10 min there walked thru the entire store and then waited by the service desk no going on 30 min Not once did either employee look in my direction, say hello or say they would be with me soon. In fact the conversation of the owner's son was just that discussing all that is wrong with the world. J's must be doing great and didn't need my business that day. The appliances were high end, the salesman very knowledgeable, and I think as long as you pay a few bucks for a higher end appliance, you will not go wrong. It amazes me how people invest in cars, stock market, real estate, and so much more but when they buy their appliances they economize. You get what you pay for. I don't know why some reviews shoot them down. I bought from Sears, Sears Automotive that purposely broke parts on my car, other vendors and had many problems. We never had a company that was right on par price wise with the discounted appliances at Amazon and Best Buy and so on but J's cam in even less. Most of all, not to minimize, you get local support when and if you need it! The installation was perfect, not a scratch, the installers very respectful, took off my door to go downstairs, and they let us sweep the cement and put down some flooring (hard plastic used at McDonald's bathrooms) and most of all, the machines work excellent. We bought the LG washer and dryer, the Gas Plumber set it up perfect and everything went smoothly. With so low markups, I wonder how the company can even make a profit. I would never recommend J's Broadway to anyone. I bought a stove the day after Thanksgiving because mine died. I paid for the stove and was promised it would be delivered Dec. 4. I waited all day and finally decided to call them at 3:00 to find out what time it was coming. I was told it was not going to come that day. I never even got a phone call after sitting home all day. I was then told it would be there the following Thurs. again I waited all day and called them at 2:00 same story. My stove would be in Dec. 24....I understand that some things happen but not even a courtesy call to let me know. I cancelled the order and went to Wickford Appliance and got the same stove and it was delivered in 2 days. The salesman at J's, Charles, could have cared less about customer satisfaction. read more

It is honestly wonderful to shop at this local retailer - there is an amazing selection of appliances and brands. The staff (salespeople) are both expert and practical. They really listen -- and even talked me out of replacing a dishwasher, insisting it was superior to the new ones and educating me about some of the features I had missed. We have purchased a full kitchen (dishwasher, cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, double oven and range hood), then went back for a washer and dryer and finally a gas grill - and will keep going back. Refreshing! I was in a pinch yesterday. My dishwasher that I originally purchased from lowes didn't work. I took it back to lowe's and tried J's. They sold me the floor model because I needed the dishwasher immediately because of friends visiting from out of state. No retailer really carries many dish washers in stock. It was nice that the owner knew everything about the dishwasher and all of the pro's and con's of all the dishwashers in the store. Thanks for helping me out in a pinch. After rebates the costs were even less than you would have paid at a big retailer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. They were friendly, knowledgeable and best of all not pushy. Prices are competitive and they have good stock. Some deceit going on here though. Usually promise rebate on appliance purchased in the form of a Visa gift card. You will never receive one! When you go back and complain, they don't want to hear it. The young kid is rude and ignorant and knows nothing about the products.
