Forget a picture of J's sample platter, has two of egg rolls, chicken pot sticker, steak pot sticker, crab Rangoon and two fried shrimp. Was very good I had the Mongolian trio and the wife had the orange peel chicken. I had the jasmine ice tea and enjoyed the pleasant taste. Bathrooms were very clean and so was dinning area. Staff friendly and helpful. I agree the outside of the restaurant will fool you a bit but a very nice environment inside, a hidden gem. We would return.

I went to this restaurant on a Monday afternoon with my family. We were one of just people in the restaurant. The server was nice and he provided us with everything we needed. I saw the lunch specials that were $7.49 and I could not pass up on it. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice, broccoli, wonton soup and crab lagoon. Here are the ratings for each food: Wonton Soup: 8/10 - Good, best I've had in awhile General Tso's Chicken with fried rice - 9/10 -pretty good, the chicken was nice and tender Crab Lagoon- 7/10- it's just fried cream cheese Broccoli was cold and needed - 4/10 (6.5/10 with salt) Overall, it was a good meal. The meal was really good, and for $7.49, it is so worth going to! Not many people come in, but those that do are in for a treat!

I've had such a hard time for the past few years to find Chinese food that was consistently good. I think my problem is solved! Tried out J's Cuisine for the first time over the weekend and I'm really happy with my experience. For my takeout order, I ordered orange chicken with fried rice and crab ragoons. The orange chicken was so tasty! No complaints about it or the fried rice (although I don't understand why it's an uncharge). I'm VERY picky about crab ragoons but there's were full of flavor and they don't skimp on the filling. I had plenty of food leftover for a meal the next day which is always a plus. It was easy to place the to-go order. The staff were wearing a mask when I went to pick it up. To my knowledge, they don't offer curbside pick-up which would be nice considering the time we are in.

This place has great staff that are so friendly. Price it's great. Food was amazing,and the portions size was very large on the dinner entree I ordered. The only thing that disappointed was the egg rolls are just filled with cabbage nothing else. I'm writing this while sitting here looking at my plate so it's still fresh. read more

Love this place! There are a lot of places to eat at in the immediate area, but this place is fast, convenient, and delicious. Everyone at work was anticipating their opening a few months back and we all eat there from time to time and we keep a menu hanging in the back. The building used to be half of the old Jojo Vape's and the interior is completely transformed. It's always very clean and the staff are very sweet when you stop by. I'd recommend checking out their lunch specials because the deals are pretty great and IMO their crab rangoon is the best I've had around here. read more

Exceptional! The experience here was excellent! We were passing through and my husband was looking for something yummy and fast. The hostess was so nice and even asked if he needed a drink for the road. (non-alcoholic of course.) He got a dish with 4 kinds of meat (including seafood) for about $7. And it was so good! Highly recommend! read more

Ordered take-out for a dinner party and staff was very friendly and helpful with our order. We were all impressed with how great each of our dishes were. The main courses, egg rolls, crab ragoon, and all the different soups were excellent. It was particularly awesome that J's didn't resort to loads of sodium to deliver on flavor as so many Chinese restaurants do. With high blood pressure individuals, this is a rare find! read more

Honestly, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life…read more We placed an online order on Christmas Eve at 6:23 PM and received a confirmation that it would be ready at 6:53 PM. When we arrived at 6:50, we couldn't believe what we saw. The restaurant was absolutely packed with people sitting and standing wall-to-wall, all waiting on takeout orders. The line went straight to the door. I assumed the line was for placing orders, so I tried to pick up my prepaid order--only to be snapped at by multiple very frustrated customers who told me they were all waiting on their orders too. So we went to the very back of the line. What followed was surreal. The "system," if you can call it that, was this: someone would walk up, give their name, the worker would disappear into the back, and then reappear some random amount of time later--sometimes 10... sometimes 20 minutes--with food. There were long stretches where no one was even at the counter. As we waited, we talked to people who had been sitting there for over two hours for orders they were originally told would take 10-15 minutes. I thought they were insane for staying. Spoiler alert: I became one of them. One woman had been there two and a half hours waiting on a $100+ order for her family's Christmas Eve dinner (like us). When she finally asked again, the employee told her they didn't even have her order eventhough she checked in multiple times and was told it was being fixed. She walked out crying. What bothered me most was the complete lack of care. No apology. No concern. Nothing. At one point, another worker came out, looked at a restaurant full of exhausted people, and actually laughed. Meanwhile, they continued taking new online and phone orders. Absolute insanity. When it was finally our turn, they didn't have our order either. The employee walked away, came back much later, asked for my name again, and started the whole process over. It honestly felt like a bad SNL skit. Eventually she checked the tablet and realized she hadn't been looking at any online orders. By then it was after 8:15 PM. Our entire Christmas Eve evening was gone. When we finally received our food, we politely asked if there would be any kind of discount. The employee laughed, shook her head no, and said nothing else. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing. No one was rude to the staff. No one was yelling. People were incredibly patient because it was Christmas Eve. And that somehow made it worse. The way customers were treated was unbelievably dismissive and careless. We eventually got to sit down to eat as a family a little before 9:00PM If this is how they handle their business--and their customers--on a night that actually matters, then I'm happy to return the favor and never set foot in this establishment again.

I was told that the kitchen was unwilling to provide extra vegetables unless I paid an additional charge. What disappointed me most was not the charge itself, but the attitude behind it. It felt as though reasonable customer requests were viewed as an inconvenience rather than something to accommodate. This is also not the first time I have heard kitchen staff complaining about customer requests. In the past, I have overheard complaints about customers asking for less salt or making other simple modifications to their meals. As a long-time customer, it is extremely disappointing to hear staff openly express frustration toward paying customers for such basic requests. The attitude was unprofessional and unfriendly. After repeatedly hearing complaints from the kitchen about customer orders, it becomes difficult to feel confident about how special requests are handled behind the scenes. I have supported this restaurant for a long time, but this experience has left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I hope management takes customer service more seriously and addresses these issues.

Finally a decent Chinese restaurant in Troy! I have been very disappointed and even grossed out by some of the other Chinese restaurant options in Troy but J's is much better. The food is fresh and not mushy or fatty. They use better quality chicken (I ordered chicken lo mein and my husband ordered hunan chicken) and their veggies were not overcooked. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The decor is nice and modern. The one thing they could improve on is atmosphere. It would have been nice if there was some background music playing and some candles or flowers at the tables. Cloth napkins would have been nice to class it up for dining. The price was very reasonable. I am afraid not many people in Troy are aware of this nice place because it is kind of tucked away in a low traffic area. It is right next to the Staples parking in a little plaza of its own. It is newly build and still feels new and clean. Don't miss out on J's for great Chinese food! We have eaten at J's many times. Dine in experience was good so we tried carry out. We even live in a neighboring city but chose to drive there, especially for their steamed dumplings. So very disappointing. Two orders of General Tso chicken and an order of orange chicken was so hard they were inedible. Sweet and sour chicken and a s/s shrimp came with no sauce and we were missing a fried rice. Most disappointing was when speaking with the owner, the only remedy offered, after much insistence there was nothing wrong with the food and we are the only people to complain, was $10, a side of rice, and two cups of sauce. What?! No offer to remake order, or refund on the inedible meals. We won't be back. read more

J's is without question our favorite Asian restaurant. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious and service is always friendly and fast. The atmosphere is great, with nice ambient music and lovely Chinese embroidery panels on the walls. I especially enjoy the unusually good vegetarian options and my husband regularly orders seseme chicken, which he says is the best he has had. Plus it's family owned and operated so its great to support our neighbors in the community. We wouldn't order Chinese dine in or take out anywhere else. read more

For my recent birthday celebration, my husband contacted J's to see if they would make a special dinner not listed on their menu--a favorite of mine from living in California for 25 years. They agreed and I picked it up to take home and enjoy. It was DELICIOUS!!! She even promised to use my favorite veggies. Also, she presented me with a beautiful Chinese fan to take with me. I'm from Peabody, Massachusetts here for training at a local business. For me, finding this restaurant was difficult. It's near Staples to the right before Walmart. I read the reviews for this restaurant and decided I had to try it. After having their green pepper steak, egg rolls and pork fried rice, I'm going back to try their szechuan chicken.
