Gonzalez Electric - New Tesla charging station

We scheduled a visit for Friday (4/3/26), and he showed up right on time. After assessing the job, he actually gave me an even better price for installing my Tesla Level 2 charger. He was professional, friendly, and took the time to explain everything about the installation. His attention to detail and craftsmanship really stood out--he went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend Gonzales Electric to anyone in need of electrical work, and I'll definitely be reaching out again for future projects.

I am SO grateful I found Ed and Gonzalez Electric…read more The short version of why I needed help: yesterday, power went out to a section of my house and when I went to the breaker box to reset, it was audibly sizzling (!!!!!) and smelled like burning fish. I cut the power to the whole house in a panic, then sat there, not totally sure what to do because it was after 5 PM and rapidly getting dark, but hey. . . at least the sizzling had stopped (tiny victories). Gonzalez Electric was one of the first Yelp hits and once I saw Ed's great reviews, I gave him a call. He answered right away, was kind, listened to what happened, and said he'd be right out. Ed arrived at my place within half an hour and got to work. Ed's diagnosis of what was wrong was clear, professional, and he took the time to answer all of my questions. He even provided options for more economical vs longer term fixes. What I really appreciate though is how fair his pricing was--- the truth is that I was in a bad situation: no power, a sizzling breaker box, and a single woman alone at home in the darkness. He could have literally charged me anything and I would have probably paid it because hey, what choice did I have? But Ed didn't do that. He was VERY fair, he gave me options, he was just an all around wonderful person to work with and I am definitely saving his info for all future electrical work. He got everything fixed up before long and we are back to normal over here before I even got dinner on the stove for the night. SO grateful to Ed and if you need any electrical work done, don't hesitate to give him a call.

I reached out to Energy Source Electric, and they jumped into action right away. They expedited the approval process with SCE and got to work as soon as possible. From the time Carlos walked through the door and introduced himself, within 10 minutes I knew I was going to hire him. He was very personable, professional, and it did not take but several minutes for Carlos to explain the entire process for the project. This included the approximate time frame that the project would take: including the filing of permits with the county, the intial approval on matters concerning Southern California Edison, the panel replacement and final inspections by the County and SCE, and finally the stucco repair which looked fabulous upon it's completion. Carlos also has a very good working relationship with everyone involved, and he kept me informed every step of the way. I was impressed with how respectfully various people from SCE speak of Carlos, just as I was impressed by the people who work for Carlos as well. Everyone was friendly, respectful and obviously were happy to be working for Carlos. When a question would arise from me or my wife, even when I felt a little bit silly about some of our enquiries given our lack of knowledge concerning electronics in general, Carlos gave our concerns an amount of attention, dignity, and respect that everyone would hope they had from a professional contractor. In addition, just as is true of all other aspects of Carlos's work, the cost is another impressive and pleasant surprise in the entire process. I had consulted with three other electricians before I met Carlos, and I have absolutely no doubt that we have the best job that could be done, and for the most reasonable price out there anywhere. Coincidentally, shortly after the job was completed, we had a different and unrelated issue that I was concerned about. Carlos went out of his way to assure us that the problem was likely emminating from SCE, and not from within our home, and that he would make time to come out and get a close up recheck of everything. The next day Carlos reached out to his contacts at SCE and then called to inform me that SCE had found the problem and we're fixing it as we spoke. The entire neighborhood had been having the same problem for several days. I was probably the first one in our neighborhood to be informed of this, only because Carlos has the care, the professionalism, and the excellence to go well-above and beyond the call of duty for his clients. As someone who served in the United States Marine Corps, excellence is something I recognize. Thank you, Carlos, for your dedication to excellence. Your many entirely 5-star reviews are very well-deserved.

Waiting for SCE to approve the upgrade was a nightmare, but then again it was due to covid-19. I've hired these guys a few times now. The last job I had them do was 4 years ago to run electrical…read morein my yard for a hot tub and at that time an above ground pool. They found some wire underground that they decided to tap into for the job and proceeded to run conduit along my wood fence (it was supposed to be along the house and NOT from underground) which was not what we had discussed as the plan for that job. I voiced my concern about how it was done and they came back out and did the job as it was originally planned to do. The whole time the job was being worked on, my windows were open and I could hear the apprentice complaining about having to dig and how the dirt was hard (I get manual labor isn't for everyone, be professional at least) but they "corrected" the work and that was the last I called on them. Fast forward a few years and we have more work being done in our yard only to discover the wire they ran underground to one of the outlets not only was bare once it was in soil (I was under the impression it was run with conduit underground), but also only buried about 4-5" deep in most places. Although Joe has always been nice when he has been here doing work, his staff comes off lazy and incompetent and the work they completed was a HUGE safety hazard we were unaware of. I don't think I'd ever hire these guys again.

I got on Angi's to find and electrician in my area and they wanted me to get a membership for $275 before recommending anyone. Forget that! I tried several more times on Friday night to get multiple companies to call me back but no one returned my call. I Googled electricians again Saturday morning at 1100 am for my area and found Schematic Electric in Tehachapi CA. Nelson answered and told me that he could probably get someone out to me by 1pm. Being a weekend he mentioned it would be a slightly higher service call. I opted for the fastest response I could get and Nelson was in my driveway by 1245pm. He is a very pleasant guy with a big friendly smile. My German Shepherd even liked him. Within 5 minutes inside my home Nelson knew what our problem was and within a total of 20 minutes he had everything up and running again. He saved the day because we were having family arrive from back east and didn't want to have to explain that they might have to use a flashlight in their room, but this was all avoided in time. Even though our issue was relatively simple I wanted to mention something to other companies that can't bother to return a phone call or come out for a simple problem. I have a generator that I've been wanting and electrician to install an outlet for during emergency power outages and because we feel like we found such a reliable company I am having Nelson back out for that job in the near future. When you are a top notch company and treat customers with value, it earns you more business and loyalty. Thanks Schematic Electric and please give Nelson our thanks as well. He is a real asset to you company.
