I recently had my grooming blades sharpened by this company. He said he could only sharpen 4 out of the 12 blades I gave him, saying my blade were old and worn out. All 12 of the blades no longer worked. All of these blades worked prior to his sharpening them. I called to tell him, he hung up on me. Today I took my blades to where I usually use and resharpeded and they work great. They are an hour away. So it's hard to take them. Very unhappy, will never use the person again. This guy is skilled! I was looking for someone to sharpen my higher end pocket knife made with special steel and I did not want to go to the average belt sanding sharpening service. James uses a high tech machine with fancy stones (ex Japanese, German, Australian) so that he can create a razor sharp blade without taking off more steel material than needed. I had James out 3-4 months ago and I'm just now reviewing. Can't really find many sharpeners out there, but with a name like James Slaughter, I had to give it a go. So glad I did. He did about 15 knives for me including a 300 dollar Japanese Damascus that had a tiny chunk taken out of the blade. All knives came back razor sharp and the one knife.... better than new.
