Consistently terrible work. He damaged one of my blades and I told myself not to use him again. Our salon found another sharpener who does great work. Unfortunately when a coworker said the sharpener is coming, I assumed it was the one who does a good job but it was this business and I didn't realize until I got my greasy tools back that weren't cutting right. Two blades seem like they haven't been sharpened at all, and one blade is cutting worse than it was before it was "sharpened". And my shears are cutting way more rough than before. Colossal waste of money and now my tools are worse off than before. Not worth the energy to try to get the sharpener to come back because his attitude sucks and he's unprofessional. Hate to leave this kind of review but my tools are my livelihood and they're not cheap. read more

I've worked with these 2 for over 5 years and recommend them to many groomers. And they continue to use them til this day. The review targeting Amber's past was uncalled for. The young man that was mentioned was fired over year now because of his actions. They do not promote domestic violence what's so ever. I know amber enough to know that she wasn't okay about what that young man did and terminated him right away. These two do excellent work and are very honest people . Been with this sharpener for years. They recently upgraded and updated their equipment! Now everything can be done faster and better.

The first two times they came to our shop they did a phenomenal job. The third time, not so much. I had 6 A5 clipper blades, a pair of chunkers and thinners, and several sets of straight shears "sharpened". My blades came back reeking of cigarette smoke and I had to soak them in soapy water to get the residue off. My straights were perfectly sharp and my curves were good for the most part. My chunkers and my thinners were a nightmare. My chunkers had metal shards on every tooth and the blade had divets with more metal protrusions. You can see where the metal is sticking up of the blade. My thinners were a less severe version of that, but they had sharpened them down so much that I can't get another sharpening out of them. I've had them done 4 times. My boss paid for the work so s e called them and asked them to come back. By the time they got back to our shop my coworkers had noticed that their thinners were also catching and most were worn down. One set of shears actually had a round "edge" on the blade instead of sharp edge. One set had never been sharpened and cost $300 and has just enough metal to fix their mistakes. I decided to volunteer my chunkers to be the test dummy to see if they could fix what they broke. Man, did they fuck up! My boss brought my shears out to the woman who told her that they were supposed to be "grooved" to allow the teeth to slide along the metal easier. No. No they're not. There's a reason they don't make double sided chunkers, and shocker, it's because getting the teeth/ grooves to line up properly is nearly impossible. So the idiot sharpener brought them back in after "fixing" them. I tested them on the schnauzer I had on the table and they still wouldn't close. So I brought them out to her. The bitch had the audacity to tell me i had messed with the tension and that's why they weren't working! I had them all of 30 seconds! I went and got my other shears that they had sharpened into nothing and her response was "I don't see a problem with these". WHAT. WOMAN. Grow some eyeballs, jesus christ. So my boss gave up and asked for a refund. The woman tried to argue with her that they did a good job and that if they could just see the other 4 pairs of shears they damaged she could prove to us they were great. Sorry but there's no way in hell we're gonna let someone damage them even more. My boss asked her about the cigarette smoke on my blades and her response was "that's a battle I've been trying to fight and just can't win." Apparently her husband is the one who does the shears and she does the blades and when we asked about talking to her husband she refused "because I'm the nice one". Eventually she gave up and went out to the van to get us a refund. I don't know what the hell their problem is, but stay the hell away. read more

STAY AWAY! Adam got very belligerent with me after I told him that they were pet clippers when he said they were not pet clippers that I was getting sharpened.I said I paid $200 for these at Petsmart because it was the ones that they use in their salon. He yellsI don't give an F where you bought them from these aren't pet clippers I said give me my stuff back, you don't talk to me that way I'm the customer here and he continue to get even more belligerent and drop more F bombs and I told him I'm going to talk to Amber and I'm going to leave a review on yelp I called Amber his wife and she said she would look into it I sent her pictures of the two clippers, one was the Andis professional grade set. I have been getting my blades and shears sharpened from A&A for years. The consistency in the past has been amazing, but I recently witnessed a down grade of consistency. I gave them two pairs of thinners and my smaller curves, they brought back one thinner that was cleaned and two shears that still had hair on them from grooming. A few weeks later, the thinners I suspected that had not been sharpened have been making an interesting noise. They are not working in their fullest potential, even after lubricating them. I understand our salon had a lot to get sharpened that day. Some blades were broken. Personally, I hoped for consistency. In the past A&A have been honest about what needed to be sharpened and what did not. They even sharpened an old pair of scissors I found for free. I appreciate them so much for that! read more

my sister has used them for a long time. we are mobile so we get it done after work at our hose. we never seemed to have a problem until this last time. they came out to my sisters house for our appointment did all her blades but after waiting for an hour and a half was told that i couldn't get my blade done due to lighting issues, that's fine i understand. we made another appointment for the next upcoming Saturday never gave us a time. around 9am they texted us to see if we were still on for that evening Saturday is our busy day we it took us a little bit to get back we texted around 1p that we are on. an hour later around 2 they texted that they are already home and the next available appointment is 2 weeks away. very unprofessional. i ended up having to buy new blade because i needed them sharpened asap. this review is all mostly based on the face of the lighting. they need to figure out a better situation or not book appointments that late in the day. i'm mad because they didn't try to fix their bad. read more

These two are AWESOME!! We have used Adam and Amber's services for the past year at the grooming shop I work at in Suisun City. But we have only needed our blades or scissors sharpened 3 or 4 times.
