It turned out that our water heater was broken and leaking. He quickly pumped all of the water out of the tank and off the floor. The next morning at 8am they came by to put in a new water heater. By noon, they were done with the installation of a larger water heater which required a new vent and a small amount of plumbing work. They were very tidy and cleaned up all the debris. I originally called to get a hot water recirculation line installed so I could finally have instant hot water at my kitchen sink. During his inspection, John noticed corrosion on my cast iron pipes that was causing a leak whenever I flushed the first floor toilet. What impressed me most is that several plumbers had looked at my place before and none of them caught it. He flagged it right away and explained everything clearly. He then quoted me a very fair price for the labor, a new toilet, and installation, and was able to schedule everything within the week. When the toilet arrived, he noticed a small blemish and told me he wouldn't install it because it didn't meet his standards and he told me not to pay until it was done right. That level of integrity is rare. When he came back with the replacement, he discovered the previous homeowner had done some questionable work with the flooring and the toilet had been sitting at an angle. Instead of just reinstalling it the same way, John took the extra time to properly level and seat it flush with the floor, which clearly took extra effort and skill. John is a true perfectionist, incredibly personable, and you can tell this is a family business that really cares about doing things the right way.
