I had a disappointing and unprofessional experience at this store. I rented a tuxedo for a wedding I was attending and decided to purchase outfits for my two sons from the same location based on a recommendation. While the tuxedo and my younger son's outfit were satisfactory, my eldest son received a pair of pants with what I thought was a stitching defect on the back. We picked up the items on Friday, and before my son wore them for the wedding the following day, my wife and I noticed the defect. Fortunately, the defect was not visible when he wore the suit jacket. Since the store was closed on Sunday, we returned on Monday. I returned the tuxedo rental and explained that there was an issue with the pants prior to my son wearing them and simply requested a replacement. However, we experienced a confrontational and unprofessional response, during which we were shouted at, and my son was repeatedly accused of dishonesty. This was one of the most unprofessional interactions I have encountered with a business. I would not recommend anyone to shop at this establishment because of the horrible experience, unbelievablely poor customer service and the atrocious behavior of the extremely unprofessional owner and his staff. read more

As I was preparing for my wedding, I went to one big chain to try on a rental tuxedo. The experience was ok, but I felt like I wanted to look around. JT Ghamo was recommended to me by someone else, and I'm so glad they were! The people I worked with, especially Michael Ghamo, were warm, welcoming, and helpful. Normally, I hate trying on suits for any length of time, but my experience was so positive that I wasn't fussed at all. I ended up being very pleased with, and widely complemented upon how I looked in the tux. We also found shoes that were wide enough to be, if not comfortable, at least less uncomfortable than most dress shoes I have worn, or had tried on for the occasion. JT Ghamo was a little more expensive than the big chain I'd gone to, but less than I had expected, and I felt like it was absolutely worth the cost. It being a family-owned business was, for me, the icing on the cake. I heartily recommend making this your first stop when shopping for a tuxedo! read more

This was my first time renting a tuxedo here. I took my daughter's boyfriend here to get a tuxedo for Junior Prom and was so impressed with the store, service, style and selection. I honestly had no idea just how extensive of a selection this store had and we were so pleasantly surprised. We came into the store about 45 minutes to closing on a Saturday and to say it was busy is an understatement! The store manager Adam saw us and let us know that he'd be with us in 5 minutes and he was so super busy that he apologized for having to "keep us waiting". We are not those people who huff and sigh over not being fawned over immediately- we told him to not stress and to take his time finishing up with the other customers. We recognized how busy they were and just used our time to explore tuxedo options. When Adam finally did return to us, we already had picked out what tuxedo and shoes we wanted and all he had to do was color match the tie, pocket square, measure and we were good to go! I am giving a major shout out to Adam- I had a special situational request that he took care of without hesitation and he was so awesome to work with. I look forward to bringing my son in shortly to get his tux for prom and we hope to work with Adam again! I am also going to note that this place has incredible suits and men's apparel and everything can be altered. My husband buys all his suits and dress shirts and ties from Brooks Brothers and I told him to not sleep on GT Ghamo- he agreed to go and get his next suit here and I cannot wait to see what he gets! I stopped in back in October of 2019 in order to buy a suit for wedding in November. Everyone there was welcoming and I was assisted very quickly. End up working with Sal to figure out what would work best within my price range and color. Sal did a great job! He brought me a wide range of styles within my expectations as well as some that he thought would work out great as well to add some good variety. And as a bonus as I was offered some espresso while trying on! Sal and everyone at JT Ghamo are fantastic and super helpful. I was so happy with the result of the suit and the fit for my wedding! I'm a demanding customer. First of all, I'm super tall and yet slim so almost everything I wear needs alterations and has to be custom clothing. Further, when I go to a shop like this, I expect attention to detail and a fairly high level of service. If I didn't want that, I could go to Men's Wearhouse. This place is the real deal, and they make things right. I've bought a number of suits, shirts, and ties from them and they are great: good fit, great quality, and excellent service. The owner Joe and his wife really care and go out if their way. Joe also worked with me to order a hard to find product (in the USA at least), a specialty dress shirt from Canada by Polifroni, which in my view is the most wrinkle free shirt on the market (and a great fit for tall and slim people like me). Went to get suits for my wedding, myself, my 3 groomsman and my 2 nephews. All the adult suits were fitted fantastic. Joe the owner helped us with them so of course they fit perfect. My nephews suits were handled by an employee that didnt seem to care about how the kids looked and when our big day came, the kids looked like a mess. When we asked them to fix it on the day of our final suit fitting, they half assed it and my youngest nephew was practically in tears. We asked them for some kind of discount when we brought the suit back and they gave us a whopping $25 bucks off an over $200 rental. After bringing them over $1000 worth of business i would have expected a bit more compassion and understanding. Save your money, go somewhere where they treat everyone like they are important. BEWARE!!! Shady business practices! The event that I was to be a part of was canceled prior to the event date, per the rental agreement it reads "Cancellations and No-shows: NO REFUNDS ON ALL DEPOSITS. If customer fails to cancel prior to the event date, customer agrees to forfeit any and all amounts paid." I was told by a representative that they do not give refunds only store credits. Per the rental agreement, it only says that the deposit will be forfeited, which I understand, so the expectation is that the other charge will be refunded and not given as a store credit which the rental agreement makes no mention. So essentially I was charged $199, the event was canceled before the event date, and they kept my funds less the deposit. In any case, a store credit does me no good; I don't even live in the state of CT. If you're considering doing business here beware! read more

When I went in to get fitted they had everything waiting. They were able to do on the spot alterations in a couple minutes and in less than an hour I was in and out with a perfect fitting tux. read more

do not go to this business!!! i repeat! do not go! they gave me a yellow dirty shirt. the shirt was ripped underneath the armpit area. i told them how unhappy i was with the service and that i didn't get to use the shirt. instead of them taking accountability and offering a solution, they insulated & threatened me. they ganged up on me as a family and told me that they're not going to charge me for their mistake!! followed me outside and continued to insult me for their mistake! they said they are italian and that i don't know what im in for! instead of them being apologetic they offred me threats and insults! they have horrible service & they do not offer quality products! better off buying a suit from a professional business! read more

recently used this place for my wedding and I am absolutely appalled by the service I received. I would be willing to over look the inconsistencies, lack of communication and poor listening skills we faced from the very beginning but the icing on the cake is when I brought my minor child there the day before my wedding for his final fitting. For some reason the gentleman who assisted us was very adamant about helping my minor son get dressed. So much so that he became very rude and belligerent when I insisted on being in the fitting room with him while he dressed. I asked to speak to the Manager regarding this behavior and what I was met with was another rude and disrespectful man who didn't care one bit to hear my version of what was going on. Instead he yelled he will refund me for the tux and claimed he had video evidence of me disrespecting his staff. I asked to see the "proof" on the video because I knew it would show the exact opposite and would prove his employee was in the wrong. He then stated it would take too long to pull the footage up. Had it not had been less than 24hrs until my wedding I would have canceled all 10 of my Groomsmens tuxedos and taken a refund for this place did not deserve to get our business. Forget shopping at Men's Wearhouse or Brooks Brothers or even Jos A. Bank. I went around the mill with them and was left extremely disappointed and discouraged. The supposed industry-leading giants leave a great deal to be desired in terms of customer service, clothing selection, and prices. They charge extra for alterations, and require more time too alter. Save yourself time and go straight to JT ghamo, and make sure you ask for Joey. He's professional knowledgeable hip to current trends and past styles. He's patient and will definitely take the time needed to make sure you look your best! It's a family-owned establishment and while I was there all members of the family helped contribute to the superior level of customer service they offer. My son recently had his senior prom and we got his tux at JT Ghamo first of all they are the best deal in town for gorgeous suits. The day we went to get our tux it was super packed and if you have gotten a tux before you know that patience is needed the day of pick up. Everyone else is picking there tux up too for there prom. Even though they were mobbed with kids and impatient parents the staff was pleasant and smiling and really working hard to accommodate everyone. They were not snippy or grouchy and they were SUPER UNDERSTANDING and trying to keep things moving. I would not hesitate to go back to JT Ghamo for our tuxes again. Not to mention that they do a fabulous job measuring and little if any alterations are needed. They worked with us to make sure our son looked amazing that day. They also try to give you good advice on when is a good time to pick up and be in and out. What I find amazing is that the kids are the ones with all the patience and the parents are the ones getting irritable and ruining a special time in there children's lives. I thought the staff did great and kept there professionalism considering they were getting the brundt of angry parents. They give each client there attention so of course it will take a little longer but when it is your time you don't want them to rush you out cause then we would complain about there customer service.
