But…read moreafter one phone call to Abe, I was pretty set and confident on Abe's Home Inspection Services. Over the phone, he was able to answer all of my queries and gave me a quick run-down of all the different services they provide and an accurate quote for an inspection on the house. He was also able to answer all of my "what-if" questions and ease my nerves by giving me a step-by-step on what to expect. Although my window for inspection was only 7 days, he was also able to squeeze me in for an inspection and got me my report within 3 days! I'm super grateful for that. On the day of the inspection, Abe and Nick let me join in on the process and even encouraged me to take my own notes. Every step of the way was a learning process for me and I gained a ton of new knowledge on structural info, safety, energy saving tips and more on the house. Abe gave me a packet and some goodie bags. The retractable tape measure with sticky notes and pen is really cool. He also put in some candy if you're feeling peckish, some hand sanitizer, flashlight and bandaids--all super useful stuff. Folder includes info packets, and even a final walk through checklist. He'd really thought of everything. Overall, I highly recommend Abe. His inspection gave me valuable insight on the house, and most importantly I gained a peace of mind. Ultimately, primarily for reasons outside of the ones that came up in inspection, we decided not to buy the home, and True View was able to give us partial refunds for the radon and lead tests we ordered as we would not be needing them. We will definitely be contacting Bill again for the next home we need to inspect, and I'll go in with a better eye for some of the things to look out for during our search.

I'm very satisfied and consider this service very good value for the money…read more Ray performed a thorough inspection of my 100+ yr old house and provided a very detailed report on the various issues that exist, complete with close up detailed pictures of areas I need to review. He was friendly, courteous and provided quick turnaround of the report. I was particularly impressed with the use of the drone camera, Ray flew it around and performed a detailed inspection of the roof. He discovered a problem with the chimney cap that had been professionally installed a few weeks beforehand. He provided pictures that I forwarded to the chimney co and they came out the next day to resolve. Had this not been fixed it's likely the cap would eventually get blown off the chimney and cause damage, so I'm pretty happy to have averted a potential disaster.

Responsiveness (5/5): Steven and the team were quick to get us on the schedule (they had next day availability -- which is what we were looking for). Our realtor was shocked he was around last minute and encouraged us to jump at the opportunity to book him. They sent the contract and outline of the services to be rendered right away and we signed and returned it soon after. Payment (5/5): They accepted several forms of payment so it was very easy to address this. We ended up using Zelle which took mere seconds. Service (5/5): The inspection itself lasted a couple of hours. He went through all aspects of the property and pointed everything out. We've heard some inspectors can be a bit detail-lite in an effort to not hinder the sale transaction. This report was instead incredibly thorough. Steven was very transparent about the things he found, highlighting the areas of biggest concern while also explaining the significance of his broader findings especially compared to his standard inspection discoveries. Value (5/5): Given the time spent at the property and the high attention to detail in the final report this was worth every penny. Home Advantage Inspections missed a potential fire hazard in the home we purchased…read more We called HAI prior to purchasing our home in Mount Kisco, NY. The results of the inspection produced a few results that we were able to negotiate with the seller. However, HAI saw no issues with the house's boiler chimney. After the purchase of the house, our heating company advised us that the condition of our boiler chimney posed a potential fire hazard. The report HAI provided said there was no issues with the boiler chimney. After the purchase of the home, we had at least three chimney companies inspect the condition of the boiler chimney. Upon a mere visual inspection, all noticed that the boiler chimney could potentially cause a fire in the home. Upon further inspection, they noticed that the chimney would need to be completely replaced in order to make the home safe. They all strongly -- and separately -- suggested that the condition be remedied as soon as possible. The condition of the boiler chimney and the surrounding area was an open and obvious fire hazard that should have been identified in the inspection report provided by HAI. $3,000 later, we were able to remedy the condition without incident. However, had HAI notified us of the condition prior to the purchase of the home, this is something we could have potentially negotiated. We are lucky that we had the boiler company inspect the space, or else the condition of the home may have been much worse. There were other conditions in the home that were missed upon inspection -- but the fact that a safety hazard such as this was missed is extremely disconcerting.
