You can look it up under my name, Mary Savva. Although we decided against buying the home in 2023, we decided we would absolutely and unwaveringly use Abe as our inspector the next time. Fast forward 3 years later, we recently used Abe in June 2026. We had the pleasure of meeting his son Nick during our 2nd inspection. I really can't say enough about Abe. I find it difficult to top my 2023 review because it was so good. During our second experience with Abe, we had a different realtor. All I have to say is Abe is on your side. The jingle, "Nationwide is on your side" should be Abe's theme song except it would be, "Abe is on your side." I hate to sound cheesy, but when you are a first-time homebuyer, it's hard to relax and trust the process. Abe makes it easier to do that simply because he is loyal to you and only you. It's a huge relief to have someone with so much experience under their belt in your corner. It's also a relief to know you can have the same confidence in his son Nick. When you hire Abe, the relationship doesn't end with the home inspection. He fully prepares you to become a homeowner. He provides lists of referrals and lots of other useful information on his website such as what to look for during the final walk through. He assures you that you can reach out to him at any time- pre and post purchase. You feel like you are more than just a customer, you are now part of a family. Of course, the candy filled goody bag made especially for you helps a lot too during the inspection! Abe and Nick check every nook and cranny (crawlspaces, roofs, attics) They arrived on time and spent over 3 hours combing through the property. Abe uses his drone to check the roof. He even has a "back-up drone" just in case his high-tech drone fails for whatever reason. He is fully prepared for your inspection. He is able to explain complex issues clearly in layman's terms, or in our case, "first time home buyers" terms. He patiently answered our questions. His home inspection report is concise and easy to understand. This cannot be overstated. It includes a "Table of Contents" which makes everything easy to find. The report does not lack detail. It is well organized with very clear pictures. This helped us to negotiate repairs and buy in confidence. One of my best friends is currently house hunting. Her husband is a surgeon. She is worried that he might not be able to attend the home inspection. I immediately referred her to Abe and assured her that she would be in good hands. I explained she would have nothing to worry about if her husband could not attend. I highly recommend Abe & Nick Kurek to anyone buying a home in the area. Over the phone, he was able to answer all of my queries and gave me a quick run-down of all the different services they provide and an accurate quote for an inspection on the house. He was also able to answer all of my "what-if" questions and ease my nerves by giving me a step-by-step on what to expect. Although my window for inspection was only 7 days, he was also able to squeeze me in for an inspection and got me my report within 3 days! I'm super grateful for that. On the day of the inspection, Abe and Nick let me join in on the process and even encouraged me to take my own notes. Every step of the way was a learning process for me and I gained a ton of new knowledge on structural info, safety, energy saving tips and more on the house. Home Advantage Inspections missed a potential fire hazard in the home we purchased…read more We called HAI prior to purchasing our home in Mount Kisco, NY. The results of the inspection produced a few results that we were able to negotiate with the seller. However, HAI saw no issues with the house's boiler chimney. After the purchase of the house, our heating company advised us that the condition of our boiler chimney posed a potential fire hazard. The report HAI provided said there was no issues with the boiler chimney. After the purchase of the home, we had at least three chimney companies inspect the condition of the boiler chimney. Upon a mere visual inspection, all noticed that the boiler chimney could potentially cause a fire in the home. Upon further inspection, they noticed that the chimney would need to be completely replaced in order to make the home safe. They all strongly -- and separately -- suggested that the condition be remedied as soon as possible. The condition of the boiler chimney and the surrounding area was an open and obvious fire hazard that should have been identified in the inspection report provided by HAI. $3,000 later, we were able to remedy the condition without incident. However, had HAI notified us of the condition prior to the purchase of the home, this is something we could have potentially negotiated. We are lucky that we had the boiler company inspect the space, or else the condition of the home may have been much worse. There were other conditions in the home that were missed upon inspection -- but the fact that a safety hazard such as this was missed is extremely disconcerting.

Neil actually called from South Carolina to make sure that my needs were met. They even arranged for an exterminator service to meet us to do a termite inspection. I had to pay them separately, but Scott and Scott made all the arrangements on my behalf. Neil M. was the person who actually did the inspection. Our appointment was for 8:30am. I arrived exactly at 8:30 only to find that Neil had been there for a while and already completed his inspection of the exterior and the grounds. He took time to go over everything he saw with me. I thought it was going to be a generic overview, but there were so many details that he found I could barely remember some of them. Thank goodness for the detailed report (more on that later). Once inside he meticulously went through every visible corner and space, giving me the lo-down as we went. He made it very clear what his responsibilities were and anything that he could not comment directly on he gave a recommendation for a specialist that could provide more details or even give a professional evaluation. Nothing was overlooked. He even recognized repaired wood vs original undamaged wood. I was very impressed. Neil was very thorough. He tested every outlet, every light switch, every faucet, every window, every door, and he turned on every appliance and let them run for a while to test the functionality. He crawled into the fireplace to look both up and down. He bravely went through every inch of the attic. The whole time he was explaining everything he was seeing. I'm surprised he didn't need a drink of water after. Regularly he would ask if I had any questions and if I did they were answered promptly and to the best of his ability. I know next to nothing about this sort of thing, so my questions were probably not the smartest, but Neil was very patient with me and took his time to answer all my questions. Scott and Scott very clearly state what they inspect and what they do not inspect, so I knew exactly what I was getting and I got it. The report came just over 24 hours after the inspection was completed....and it's 35 pages long. It is VERY detailed, down to the smallest thing. Even if something was perfect, it was mentioned in the report. Even when I had a question about the report I was given an answer in a timely manner. If you hire Scott and Scott you'll get quality service and VERY honest work. They give a small discount during the winter for a Monday-Thursday appointment, so get up early and do it before work. My appointment was at 8:30am and Neil said it wasn't early for him at all. They also give a small discount for cash, which may not be possible for some, but worth it if you can swing it. I don't know if I'll buy another house in Fairfield County, but if this deal falls through for whatever reason and I need to look at another house, I'll call Scott and Scott without hesitation.

Legal defense for any potential eviction proceedings that might be initiated by the landlord. However, on July 28, 2025, I had a scheduled Zoom court hearing at 1:30 PM at the Maywood Courthouse (Cook County, IL), Courtroom 0112, for my case: Alfred Arroyo v. Dennis Adams, Case No. 2025SC045644. No one from Optima Home Protection appeared or made contact with the court. Their absence placed my legal claims at risk and caused me considerable stress and harm. Since then, I have made numerous attempts to reach them via phone and email. Despite my calls and messages, I have received no response. I believe I have been misled and defrauded by this company, and I am concerned that they are engaging in systematic deception of vulnerable tenants nationwide.
