We worked with Bill, who was excellent. He explained everything in a very clear way and I learned a lot. He was especially helpful regarding some issues with the exterior of the home which I had not noticed myself. Ultimately, primarily for reasons outside of the ones that came up in inspection, we decided not to buy the home, and True View was able to give us partial refunds for the radon and lead tests we ordered as we would not be needing them. We will definitely be contacting Bill again for the next home we need to inspect, and I'll go in with a better eye for some of the things to look out for during our search. read more

Reasoning behind the two stars is that it was impossible to get the remediation plans/recommendations Steven wrote up from this company, and they wouldn't reply to any of my emails, and would only reply if my husband wrote to them which is quite disappointing as I was at the inspection and quite capable to handle this. From my first call to schedule an appointment, to the actual inspection and results report, Trueview was extremely professional and thorough. Evan did the inspection on a home I'm looking to buy, and he was really great. It was really easy to schedule quickly, despite every home inspector being super busy around now. His inspection was incredibly thorough and he explained everything that he found in very easy to understand ways. He was happy to have me follow him around the whole time. He also didn't try to up-sell his services. He initially said the roof was quite high and so he couldn't do an in-person inspection, but that the extra-charge drone inspection probably wasn't necessary based on what he could see. Then later, he discovered that one of the balconies gave him access to the roof, so he climbed up and did the free manual inspection anyway (confirming that everything was fine). I also asked a few questions that were outside the scope of the inspection, and while he prefaced his answer by saying it was unofficial, he did take the time to give some pretty good advice and answers to those questions. Lastly, my broker was so impressed, he asked for Evan's contact info to refer to the broker's other clients. I'm really glad we went with him. read more

Entered contract recently on a property in Westchester and our attorney and realtor would not let us sign until true view walked through and had a report of the house . I moved into a new home around a year ago. The previous owner put in a new roof within the last 10 years but there was a leak in the master bedroom. We hired True View Home Inspections to get an impartial third party assessment about the condition of the roof and the approximate remaining life of the roof. It's not great, but not a a scam operation. I am sure they are trying. If you need an inspection in a pinch, they are probably fine, but I would suggest you look elsewhere if you can. Inspection recos included things like "test water for lead", which they offer and could have included but took an extra week after initial inspection. Scheduling was difficult. Follow up questions to missing details in the report (which chimney are you talking about) went unanswered for days while trying to get to contract. Not entirely their fault given the market, but the house went to a faster closer while we we waiting for replies from Victor and this company. Will not use for next inspection. read more

I found True View while searching for inspectors for our first home purchase. Being new to the market, I wanted to ensure that I had the best service so I read a ton of reviews, when I came across True View. Justin returned my call same day, and knowing how tight timelines are for contracts, set me up for an inspection with Evan in 48 hours, for which I was very appreciative. That same day, I received all the details on what to expect and I was even able to purchase a few add-ons that would benefit my report. I was happy with the price as it was fair, and actually was the lowest of the other companies I heard back from, which ironically did not take away from the quality of the experience. Evan showed up early, was so friendly, and went right to it - he did a full walkthrough of the inside and outside of the house, pointing out what needed to be fixed but also going above and beyond and giving us tips on how to save money or make things safer and easier in other areas. As I mentioned, we are first time homebuyers so all of this knowledge was exceptionally helpful. Once Evan was done with the on-site visit, he had a full, detailed report (including photos which made it easy to refer back to).
