We found a place to sit, and after 30 minutes of the waitress continually telling us she would be with us in a minute, I had to get up myself to go get seven menus, placemats, and silverware. We sat there almost an hour without even having a drink, they didn't even take our drink order. They continually said, "somebody will be right with you", while they waited on everyone else around us. Probably about three times during that first hour they told us that. The server finally took our drink order, I tried to get them to take our food order at the same time to save time, but she said no she would be back for the food order. So of course that took longer. Once we finally had our drinks, we had to wait for the bread. The bread was very delicious. Then finally, she took our food orders. Let me just say, it was infuriating that it literally took two hours for them to bring our food from the time that we got there to the restaurant. Plenty of other people at other tables with a comparable number of diners came in, sat down, ordered their food, ate and left, and we were still waiting for our food. We all had somewhere to be, and we all seriously considered paying for our drinks, and a salad that some of us ate, and then leaving, to cancel our main entrée because it was unrealistically a ridiculous amount of time that we had to sit there waiting. To add insult to injury the teenage waitresses continually told us that our food would be out "in just a while", but it took two hours while everyone else ate and left. Overall, the food was delicious, however, the mood in atmosphere was ruined by waiting two hours when it should have been a meal that took less than one hour for the entirety. On a scale of 0 to 10: Service: Definitely 1 or 2 at best. Atmosphere: 5 Food: 8 Pricing fairness: 6-7 Will I go back? I might try them one more time, but a great restaurant could be ruined by horrible servers. I recommend they get more experienced wait staff or at least train their teenage staff. The servers seemed totally stressed and inexperienced the entire time. Our particular server was trying her best, However, she lacks training. Do not patronize customers by continually telling them their food will be right out when they literally wait two hours. Have the manager come by to check on customers to see if everything's OK, especially when you know that they have been waiting a long time. Restaurants come and go in Dumas, and typically the downfall is because of the service. I really hope this place gets itself together or else they won't last. It's nice to have an Italian restaurant in Dumas. Servers need training. If I ever go again and I have to wait two hours, I will never step foot back in that place and I know my friends and family will not either. Not because of me, but because of poor customer service. Update: I went back today with a friend who invited me to lunch. I tried the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Very disappointed in the extremely thin texture and poor taste of the chicken, on a scale of 0 to 10 I give it a four out of 10. The bread is definitely the best thing about the place. Today the server was outstanding, very attentive, friendly, and she did an excellent job. I will never order the chicken fettuccine Alfredo again, if I ever go back.
