I would have liked to give them a 5/5. However, there were a couple of deficiencies in their service that should be noted. I took my 2001 truck to them for a 200k mile service. This level of service is normally very thorough and comes at a premium. My expectation, given the stated estimated cost, was that all the basics would be attended to but they were not; There was no oil/filter change (how more basic can it get)? The steering hydraulic oil had not been changed or even topped up. The cooling system had not been flushed (I requested that in particular). The wiper fluid had not been topped up. The fuel filter had not been changed. I supplied the plugs (duly noted to them) but they remained unused on the passenger seat. They did run a check on the undercarriage and informed me that a wheel bearing and lower ball-joints need to be replaced soon. I appreciated that. What I think happened was that the special requests for cooling system flush, new plugs (supplied) and HT cables, serpentine belt, A/C check and refrigerant top-up and all new filters somehow caused the basic 200k service to be overlooked. To their credit, they did change the oil and filter without charge before I left. The shop was modern, clean and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and I'm sure that on a different day the service would have been properly completed. Stuff happens sometimes! I have three vehicles and I may give them the next upcoming service to see if they can earn the full 5 stars. If you'd like to experience the joys of the valet drivers in Ferris Bueller's Day Off or the high of burning a hole in you wallet, come on down to JTR Repair in Crawfordsville!! Went in to address an alignment issue and some how came back with a $3400 invoice. Their strategy: overwhelm you with vanity repairs, conduct services without your confirmed consent, and leave you with a hefty bill all while never actually fixing your vehicle. The icing on the cake is they drove my car for an hour as part of a "diagnostic test". As far as I know this was a joy ride across town because I was suddenly missing a quarter of a tank of gas which of course I was not compensated for. I have CD's and a player in my vehicle. When I returned from my service not only were there visible damages to the front wheel but a CD was taken out from the player, thrown in the back seat, and the radio was on with the new CD playing! Surely that takes 8 hours and hundreds of dollars in repairs to complete. PLEASE go down the road to JTR Repair in Lebanon. They are communicative, reasonable, and offer discounts where applicable. read more

They will tell you there is a mandatory so-called inspection they have to perform for your safety and then slap you with a $60 charge on your bill. They will also take advantage of your young daughter knowing full well she's inexperienced and has no knowledge or understanding of vehicles. AVOID!!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! read more

Took my car there for an alignment, they didn't even attempt to do the service, they did give me and a list of $2500 dollars worth of repairs on a thousand dollar car. I didn't approve a service of inspection but was still charged for it. If you want to spend extra on car repairs take your car here. read more

Seriously LACKING in customer service and communication. Between the two appointments and the list of stuff we did pay for, it still ended up being a three-week ordeal for something I made an appointment for, no special parts needed ordered, and my dash still lights up like a Christmas tree. Between the TWO times I arranged to drop off my vehicle and be worked on for the same issues (two weeks apart because that was the earliest they could get me back in after not completing the job). Each time we have to call them to get any information and arrange pick up THREE times because when we were told we could pick up the car, and it was left unlocked with no key available for us until the following day when we traveled to pick it up AGAIN. We would call and they would claim to give me a call the next morning with more details, and they never would call, I would have to call every time just for them "give us a shout tomorrow." An oil change being one of the things I had to pay for on top of my oil leak fix, you just RESET THE OIL LIGHT AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. GET BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE and COMMUNICATION. read more

JTR Repair is amazing. I called with a quote from another business and JTR fixed it for less and I feel so much better having taken it to a smalll town business out of Lafayette. They make you feel like they actually care about you and your vehicle not just your money. They have loaner vehicles so you aren't without transportation. i received pictures during the time they had my vehicle and I was kept informed. When I called Chelsea was very friendly and got my vehicle in the next day and it was ready to pick up that day. Horrible communication, took them almost 3 weeks to fix a blown head gasket (after saying it would take 2 weeks tops). They would tell me a day I can pick my car up and then wait for ME to call THEM just for them to tell me that I can't pick it up for another day or two. Extremely frustrating, they don't really offer any services promised, (shuttle, Loner car). I would consistently call and they would claim to give me a call the next morning with more details and they never would call, I would have to about an hour before they close, all fort them just to tell me that I something new "unexpectedly" came up and I can't pickup my car the day they promised. Extremely frustrating and annoying the lack of communication and keeping of promises. Still haven't picked up my car, haven't gotten a single call from them I always have to call. Communication was lacking with what was going on with my repair. I spoke to the owner about it. I'd recommend the mechanics as I believe they do great work. But the owner was rude in a phone call and when face to face didn't want to speak to me about my frustrations. read more

We needed a horse trailer tire changed and the office staff was super helpful in getting us to their location. The mechanic was prompt in his service and got us back on the road ASAP. Entire staff was friendly and helpful. The shop was immaculate! Highly recommended! read more
