Mears is the only place I'll get my vehicles serviced from now on. They are dependable, knowledgeable, and will get your vehicle serviced in a very timely manner. I recently dropped off my daughter's car at Mears when it wouldn't start. After doing all the diagnostics, they called and told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Bonus is that they didn't charge me anything to check things out. When I previously took her car somewhere else, it was $125 just to do a diagnostic check. I've been coming to Mears for a few years now, and I've never had any complaints. The staff is very friendly as well. read more

Had taken a nissan for a fan motor that would not turn off. Mears was able to find us a semi solution that allowed us to save hundreds. Instead of replacing the entire component for $1,400, they replaced an amplifier for $550ish. They were able to take and repair my car the same day. They were costly but communicated regularly and did the work. read more

This place has always treated me well. Most recently I stopped by hoping to schedule a day to drop off my vehicle due to hearing some metal grinding at times when I touched the brakes. They asked to keep my vehicle and work on it. In the meantime,​ they drove me home and then when my vehicle was done, came and picked me back up right before closing. I wasn't on their schedule to get work done that day and I didn't stop by until after 1 PM. They even saved me a few bucks compared to the estimate that I was told over the phone. read more

Since moving to Brownsburg years ago, I've always brought our vehicles in to Mears. They have always been so accommodating and quick to address any problems with our vehicles. Dropped off My Jeep for engine repair (it was not running). Tom told me a date and a price; to sum It up, he did not deliver on engine or price. Then he said everything needs to be swapped out because Jasper engines would not warranty it if it didn't happen--Jasper engines disputes that claim and said that practice does not reflect their core values. Stagnate, poor customer Service by manager, and owner really doesn't care. I would avoid. read more

I listed two very clear issues from the beginning, over phone and on the card: oil leak and power steering leak. The oil leak was fixed, hence the 2 stars. The power steering was ignored entirely. I decided to top it off in the parking lot. An employee approaches me from the garage and asks if my car is OK. I point out the puddle under my car and he theorizes that it might not be coming from my car despite the dirty underbelly. He goes to get Tom and he tries to tell me that I didn't communicate to them that I wanted the power steering looked at. I mentioned the card i filled out yet the "goal post" was moved again by saying that if they had more time they would have fixed it. I don't know why they felt so pressured on time, I was willing to leave my car there as long as it took to get both problems fixed. At the end of the day I paid $175 for an oil change I could have done myself and a de-grease job that was immediately undone by the leaking power steering fluid. Ironically, it wasn't the service, they can clearly fix cars. It was the excuses that kept me from coming back to Mears. With all these 5 star reviews, I'm confused on how I got so unlucky. read more

Excellent service. Took my 2004 Buick in for worn tie rods (reported to me by another service center) alignment, radiator flush, new thermostat, and to correct service light issues. They determined that the tie rods were not loose, and corrected the other issues. Nice people to work with and the cost seemed reasonable. read more

I took my Jeep into Mears Automotive in Brownsburg on the 10th of Jan and told them I wanted a tune up and my blower in my heater fixed. After not receiving a call back after 5 business days, I decided I would call them up and see what was going on. They had not worked on the vehicle yet because they were waiting to give me the estimate, which is fine but why didnt they call me before 5 business days? The guy gives me an estimate for the blower and a tune up as well as tried to sell me on breaks, and new ball joints (Which they also told my dad he needed new ball joints when he took his truck in a few months ago) Grand total ws over 1600 bucks so I told him ''Just do the blower and the tune up''. Which still would have brought my total to over 600 bucks. Mears tells me they will have it finished on Friday. Friday comes and as usual I had to call to find out what was going on. The guy tells me that the part they got for me wouldnt work because it was too new. Now he tells me Monday it will be ready. Monday I get a call from Mears ''Hello, your jeep is ready. Grand total is 441.39'' . I say ''With the tune up????'' The line goes quiet... ''Well no sir, I thought you didnt want the tune up because it was going to be too expensive with getting the blower fixed'' OK so the end result is me telling you to not go to Mears for anything. read more

Let me start with this first. If I could give no stars that is what I would pick. Here is my experience: 1st time: I started replacing my wheel bearings on my van. Got the back done but could not remove the ABS sensors from the fronts as required by Nissan. Scheduled appointment and dropped it off. PRIOR to leaving I reminded them the ABS sensors MUST be removed first. They said no but I assured them they had to be. Got the call to pick up my van, dropped off the wife and as she was pulling off the lot, ALL of the dash lights came on. We went to eat and called them. They said they were not on when they repaired it and wondered if they were on when we drove it on the lot. I said no then asked if the ABS sensors were removed before pulling the front bearings. They said no so I reminded them of our conversation. Needless to say, they checked and I was right so they had to replace the ABS sensors. 2nd time: Had them check/replace belts and O2 sensors. Got the repair back, service engine light out, everything is good. One day I am inspecting the air filter and something just does not seem right. Low and behold the entire engine cover is gone! Contact them and they say nothing was done requiring it to be moved. (I'm thinking O2 sensor maybe). Long story short they can't find it but they will look. 3rd time: I blow a transmission cooler line on the way to work. Have it towed to them, it gets inspected and a new radiator and some other things are required. I remind them about the engine cover and I get the same response. $800 dollars later I get it back with the engine cover. The next day my battery needs replaced so as I raise the hood what do I see? The air scoop that goes into the air box is not even connected and there are no clips holding the top of the air scoop in place. Everything is just "laying" there. Call them up and take it in. It is correctly connected this time but with some hogpoge anchors that don't fit properly. I guess I must have been blind because today as I am looking at the windshield wiper transmission, the top anchors that keeps the new radiator in place is what? You guessed it; cut pieces of HOSE. Either they broke the old ones or simply lost them. There will never be a 4th time. If you don't know anything about cars or want the repairs done correctly, stay away from Mears Automotive in Brownsburg, Indiana. read more

We were moving from one place to another and passed through Brownsburg on our way. As we pulled off the freeway, our brakes went out. We checked with several national places, and they were less than helpful. Then we talked to Mears. It was just before closing, so they couldn't get us in that night (understandable), but they got us in first thing the next morning and got us on the road by 10:30. Very helpful! Very nice! If I lived in Brownsburg, they'd get my business for sure! read more
