I've had several services completed by Brownsburg Muffler, and I always thought they seemed kind of pricey. I don't know a lot about cars, so I just trusted Dave. Just an example of how pricey they are: I bought a headlight myself and brought it to them to install. They charged me $40 for labor. Keep in mind that that price did NOT include the price of the bulb. My other bulb went out, so I stopped by Big O in Brownsburg, and they charged me $17 total including the bulb. How can there be such a huge difference in price for the same service? The reason is because I was ripped off by Brownsburg Muffler. I will not be back. I hope I can find another mechanic in Brownsburg because I haven't been thrilled with Mears either. read more

I can't speak more highly of Brownsburg Muffler & Service. Not only do they offer prompt and friendly service, but at most reasonable prices. When the tire on the front wheel of my Hustler ZTR mower inexplicably stopped holding air. I took it to the Plainfield dealer where I bought the mower, was told it would take two days to fix, and was charged $25.00 in the process. Less than a week later, the tire went flat again. In that I pass-by Brownsburg Muffler & Service frequently, on a whim I dropped-by to see if they could fix the tire. They said they could and would call me when it was done. I was pleasantly surprised when they called me back less than two hours later and told me it was ready. The total cost was $5.00! When I asked them what caused the tire's air loss, they told me there were no punctures anywhere on the tire, and it's air loss was simply due to mud and debris build-up on the bead between the tire and its wheel . This was in May, and the tire has not lost a single pound of air since then. I've had them fix two auto tires for me in the meantime, and they were done expediently and at a more than reasonable price. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

One other reviewer mentioned pricing, and all I will say regarding her comment is that there is a book value that services are assigned and for the most part Brownsburg Muffler charges along book values. We have dealt with this business for years. Always thought they were fair. We took our Mercedes over for oil change, when we picked it up someone had sprayed something on one of our headlights. It won't come off. My husband brought it to their attention, and they said it was that way when we brought it in. Didn't offer to help pay for it or even a free oil change! Took it to a body shop and they said that it was some kind of chemical. Now we have to replace the lens @ $450. NEVER WILL GO THERE AGAIN!! I'm surprised I haven't made a review yet. I can handle most of the work on our family vehicles, but after her alternator unexpectedly went out on her way to work, and unable to do the work myself today, Brownsburg muffler went out of out of their way to get her vehicle in the shop even though they were very busy. This really helped us out since both of us work. Their prices are also lower than anywhere else I have seen. I will be a repeat customer as long as we live in the area.
