We stopped by today as a lunch spot during travel. We had the hummus appetizer, the pita bread was hard and chewy; I heard the microwave running several times & I'm pretty sure they microwaved the pita and other stuff. Very highly unprofessional in the field to microwave food, the rice was clumpy and not flavored & it's hard to mess up rice. The garlic whip was disgusting; tasted packaged & not fresh in house made. The chicken was juicy and flavored but it wasn't authentic because it wasn't on the shawarma meat machine, nor was the gyro meat & my husband said it was disgusting. Mind you- we've tried a TON of Mediterranean places. The restaurant needs a deep & thorough cleaning. It was filthy. The food was hot thankfully. We wouldn't go back but it's much better than a greasy burger or McDonald's. read more

We always pick up an order to go when on the way to Bay Springs or Pickwick. Gyros , shawarma and kabobs are so good, and everything is fresh. The owner and his family really take pride in what they do, and he always tells me "you need to come in and let me prepare meal for you ", but we are usually traveling with the dogs, so we haven't been able to yet. Little place around the corner from an antique mall. The decor tries: murals, paintings and trim work. The food is good. Original fare with food service purchased gyro meat. Makes sense since this place is too small for an actual gyro spot of meat. So, the meat is thin and floppy but good flavor. The whole sandwich is very tasty. I enjoyed the food. I had kebab plate with the "gyro" meat (IDK what it's called), steak, shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. They were served over a bed of rice. The sauces were hummus, Shawarma (in house sauce as I was told), and tzazitki (had to look up spelling). Of the 3 sauces, I enjoyed the hummus the most. Shawarma sauce was my least favorite. The chicken was tender, and the "gyro" meat was tasty. The steak kebab was overcooked, so it was tough. The shrimp kebab was disappointing because it only came with 3 small pieces of shrimp. My husband is the finickiest person I have ever met. It was a complete shock when he told me he wanted to try JT's. I had tried it before when it was in the tiny building at the 72/Cass intersection. We tried a couple of simple dishes. Mine was a chicken shawarma. The shawarma, hummus, kababs and baba ghannouj are pretty tasty. I have made hummus at home and mine agreed with my palate better than the hummus made here. Mine wasn't as tart. We've ate here a few times and each has been at my husband's request. Still can't get over that! The owner was very friendly and spoke to us as we finished eating. He asked if there was anything he needed to do to improve the food or service. We couldn't come up with anything. There is absolutely no other place like this in town. Their Facebook page has been listing items that seem out of place, but I will have to try them. I love this restaurant. Plain & simple. Everything I have ever eaten here has been wonderful. I have not tried the whole menu. I usually stick to kebabs, salads, and starters. There are Meza 1 and Meza 2 starter plates that give a great variety of their starter offerings on one platter. They are generous and more than enough for one person as an entree if desired. The baba ghannouj is one of my favorites as well as the labneh cheese. They do a turnip pickle of which I cannot get enough. I also love the foul medammas extra, which is fava beans topped with falafel, feta cheese, and tomatoes. It is a meal itself! For these dips et al, they offer a choice of homemade pita chips or fresh pita bread. Both are delish. My "go to" is the fattoush salad with a chicken kebab or kefta. The salads are Jethro Bodeen and I saw on last visit they now do a half order. The salads are fresh!fresh!fresh!! They are full of fresh diced veg as well, with their homemade pita chips filling in for croutons. My most recent visit I tried the half order gyro salad and was very impressed. There was plenty of gyro meat and feta cheese to go around and the salad was still generous even at the half order. It was a SLIGHT tad more than I could eat at a single sitting, but I persevered to clean my plate. It was just that good! I don't know how Alex makes his dressings, but the House dressing is fresh, lemony, garlicky, yet light. Not overbearing. Just perfect! My kebabs have always been juicy and tender. They use squash in addition to the standard tomato, onion, bell pepper. Seasonings are spot on. I have tried the chicken and beef shwarma and the homemade meat pie in the past. It is all wonderful. I need to branch out, but I find myself CRAVING certain items. Meals are cooked to order and fresh, so there is a short, reasonable wait. This is not "fast food." The service is always friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is in a nondescript strip mall, but inside they have nicely painted wall scenes as if looking out of your Arabian castle into your desert courtyard. There is fabulous ethnic background music which adds to the ambiance. Unfortunately, I've never made room for dessert, but I hear they are wonderful. I always leave satiated. read more

Whoa. Amazing. Got a gyro Chicago style as well as hummus and pita. Love it!! The pita chips are greasy. Skip those. But the pita bread is on point. And hummus rocks. Lamb was perfect! The dolmas and baba ganoush (sp?) We're on point. The menu is nice and small, but with all the basics you'd expect. I asked for a beer and was greeted by a 20 oz modelo, now that's my kinda beer!!! This is a great little place considering that its probably the only Mediterranean restaurant in this area. Alex the owner is friendly and everything is prepared fresh to order. My husband had the crab cake appetizer, which he said was very tasty. My son had one of his favorite dishes kefta kabob, it comes with flavorful yellow rice and a choice of two sides, so he had pita bread with hummus. I ordered the chicken kabob pita sandwich with an order of fries. The chicken comes on two skewers with grilled onion, green pepper, tomato and yellow squash. The pita bread is split open w/ shredded lettuce, slice tomato and tezaki sauce (which is a white cream sauce w/ garlic flavoring). It was very good. The restaurant is in a strip mall and has a limited amount of seating, maybe seven or so tables. They also do carry out so calling ahead and picking up is recommended as it takes some time to prepare the food. read more

Came back for the salad and got Meza #2. It is a appetizer platter with salad. This time I got the Tabouli salad. It is good but I would say it was not as good as the Greek Salad we had last time. The falafel that day was very salty and I barely can eat them. The pita bread was very hard too. They told me when they warmed the bread up, it got soft and when it cooled down it got harder. I think it was not fresh that day. Was a little bit disappointed by the food this time. Also when I was trying to order desert, I was told they already shut down the kitchen and they were about to close. If you are coming be sure to get here early. They close at 8pm. read more

First, JT's has moved down the street on to Hwy. 72, in the area next to all those darn storage buildings... I haven't had a chance to eat at the new sit down restaurant but I'm sure it is as amazing as it was before! Love love love everything on the menu from kebabs to shwarma!!!!! And I could eat an entire vat of tzatziki with some pita. A nice finish to the meal is the baklava with the sweet phyllo and pistachios...YUM Note that this is the ONLY place in this area that you'll find this type of food! This place could go toe-to-toe with any Mediterranean restaurant you'll find in a metropolitan area. I always make plans to stop here for lunch or dinner when I'm in the area. You certainly won't find a better option in Corinth! I haven't had a bad dish yet so choose whatever you like. You can't go wrong! The prices are very reasonable so order at least a few dishes. The restaurant is small but I've never been there when they were anywhere close to full so there's never a wait. Hopefully this doesn't mean that they'll be out of business soon. Mississippi needs more, not less, of these establishments so put down your fried chicken wing and go enjoy some healthy and delicious food and support some great local merchants! I had the fatoosh salad with chicken and the baba ganoush. What an awesome meal! The salad was served with two skewers of chicken kabob on top. I have never had such moist tender chicken in a Middle Eastern restaurant, and I live in Detroit where good ones are on every other corner! The salad was super fresh and yummy. They dress it very gernerously so consider asking about that if you don't like your last green leaves to float in the dressing. They serve the baba with pita chips instead of plain pita which I am more accustomed to - it was nice. The pita chips were unseasoned or so lighltly seasoned that they were the perfect compliment to the deliciously spicy baba. I arrived at JT's right after a big party left. All the tables were still re-arranged and they were in the process of straightening and sweeping, so my initial impression of the dining room might have been a little unfair, but I wondered what I had gotten myself into. My impression improved when the cleaning was finished, but still a fresh coat of paint on the walls would really help the atmosphere. The food more than makes up for the slightly shabby hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Being me, I had to have a piece of baklava. It is not made at the restaurant and it was pretty good, but not the best - remember I am from Detroit which is kind of baklava central. After such a generous yummy meal, the sweet was nice, but I was glad it was not a huge piece. I will visit JT's at least once more before I leave Corinth in a few weeks and am looking forward to it. read more

We love this place. We lived in Saudi Arabia for a while and enjoyed eating the Shawarma wraps sold there by street vendors. We could not believe our eyes when we saw the menu here. Very authentic EASTERN Mediterranean food cooked by the real deal chef. Unpretentious, reasonably clean (that's why it doesn't get the fifth star) dining area. We eat here regularly.
