Have come here three times in the last two months. Twice on quiet weeknights and once on Cinco de Mayo. Free street parking and some in the back. Seating options are varied like their other location. Bar, booths, tables and patio. I prefer bar or booth. Tables are packed together. Chips and salsa are complimentary and delicious. One speed of salsa: mild plus. It's good though. Service is hit or miss, but overall everyone is very nice. Kayla is my favorite server so far and we haven't seen her since our first visit. Drinks are solid and not wildly over priced. I like the Spicy AF and Luna Barnett. Food is tasty. Not a ton of vegan options. Avocado app with no dairy is my go to. Or the fried avocado tacos. Large menu for omnivores. Mostly, food comes out fast. This location is open until 11 during the week. Kitchen maybe 9:30 or 10, but a great spot for late night eats. read more

Great spot for Mexican in Rochester Hills. Loved the open, airy atmosphere with the windows and outdoor seating. Great service ! The chips and salsa were a highlight -- fresh, flavorful salsa, plus extra sauces on the table. We had drinks and fajitas (chicken and shrimp on a sizzling skillet) and everything was flavorful and filling. The margaritas hit the spot too. Service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Interior was very nice. Tables were great and the chairs comfortable. Bartender must have been newish or backed up, as our food arrived before our drinks. Food was good when it was correct. We had four entrees and only 2 were correct. They were entered properly the runners just delivered the wrong food. The server handled it well and the manager came to check on us to make sure it was corrected. All in all it was an okay experience, it is still new so I think they are still finding their stride. I would give it another chance for sure. read more

This was my first time to Juan Blancos but I understand there is another location. The specials menu had an interesting appetizer that we tried - cucumber with shrimp. It was very interesting and was also like a lettuce wrap except it was on a cucumber instead of lettuce and it was very tasty. It came with three different dipping sauces and all three were really good. One of the people in our group got the salmon special and said it was delicious, another got the shrimp tacos with the corn tortillas instead of flour and I got the Blanco bowl and it was supposed to come with grilled chicken but they accidentally put shredded chicken in it. It was OK I wouldn't say it was one of my favorite Mexican meals ever but it was fine. read more

I usually eat at the location off 15 mile road and Utica, but since they opened a second location here, no need to drive that far. It's located in an up and coming neighborhood right in Rochester Hills. Walking in the place is well decorated with plenty of seating for parties of varying sizes. It was shortly after noon on a Saturday and rather quiet, so I was able to get a seat right away. The menus the same obviously as the other location, but I wasn't sure what to get. I ended up getting two puffy tacos with rice, beans a drink. I got the barbacoa meat which is fabulous here, and I really loved it. Honestly, the food was good but was a bit off. the shells seemed like they weren't cooked enough and the rice was a bit cold and didn't taste so good. This isn't usually their style, and since I really didn't see my server all that much, I didn't feel like saying anything. (I had just finished yoga an hour earlier, and didn't feel like moving or locating her.) My server was good, but she was not only a bit slow with my table, but other tables as well. Husband and I took our moms for Mother's Day. We ordered calamari which was delicious and the serving was a very nice amount, ceviche was ok it was missing something but I can't put my finger on it. Stuffed avocados were delicious. And elote delicious. As if that was not enough lol we had a nacho, super burrito, fajitas and another dish-I can't remember probably because I was stuffed. OMG BECKY.... here is the place to go if you want the ultimate in Tex Mex food. I was so happy they were open on New Years Day. We walked in and were super impressed by the atmosphere and the beautiful inside seating area. Natalia waited on us and was incredible, she treated us like I treated people at Chi Chi's back in the 80's. We ordered puffy tacos and enchiladas. Natalia offered for us to try both the sauces for the enchiladas. The sauces are homemade and equally mouth waterlingly delicious!!! The puffy tacos could teach the other puffy tacos a lesson in flavor!!! Believe me I know good Mexican food when I taste it. This place is the real deal. Don't even think about it, just come. I was so impressed by the level of care and concern for us. They made us feel right at home. I can't wait to take my friends and family here. 10 out of 10!!! Very disappointing. Nice looking place. I really like to food at the original one on Utica Road but the service there was bad so I quit going. We were really hoping the service here would better-it was worse, as was the food. We ordered drinks, the guy that ordered a coke never got it, had to make do with water, only one glass because the server (she was also working the bar and said she was the manager) never returned once she dropped off the food. No hot sauce on the table nor were we asked if we wanted anything. My enchiladas seemed burnt. Very disappointed, far too many Mexican restaurants in metro Detroit to waste a meal here. read more

Nice looking little restaurant. Many tvs to watch sports on. Our waitress was very sweet and quick with food service. Unfortunately the food was subpar. Salsa was extremely bland and full of liquid. Tortilla chips were tasty, warm and fresh. Queso dip was pretty good, pico was flavorless and seemed like it was sitting out for a few hours. The guacamole dip was the best part of the meal. I had a steak/veggie quesadilla which was a great portion. It had absolutely no flavor. None. A few bites returned nothing but gristle, fatty steak and canned mushrooms and soggy zucchini. Husband had the steak burrito. Same thing with overcooked, flavorless, gristle steak. If it wasn't for the food we would be back. Great service with a smile. Don't waste your time coming here if you're used to the other location, this place is not the same. We walked in to an empty restaurant and still waited easily 5 minutes for the hostess to finish her conversation at the bar. Once seated we waited for another extended period of time for someone to approach the table (she was talking at the bar) The service here is atrocious, had to place our drink orders three different times before she actually got them. The greeter walked off and we had no acknowledgement from staff to request the table to be cleaned, in fact we were not waited on at all and we were patient. We decided to move to a clean table where patrons were being served, once again we were ignored and no one interupted our departure, I stopped at the host desk and asked if they could seat us in an area with active waitstaff only to be told "This is my second day on the job, I dont know" She seemed panicked! The service is awful, stood at the door that had no hostess. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait. Even the family ahead of ours wasn't sure and sat themselves. Every server looked at me and said nothing when walking by. Finally one girl carrying a ton of dishes, said she would be back to help. We wanted to sit outside but there weren't any tables cleaned. I told her I could help clean it (I didn't mind) I work in the same industry and I get being short staffed. That didn't seem to be the issue, there were plenty of servers, and maybe 20 tables. We sat for 15-20 minutes and no one even came by or acknowledged us. Finally I asked a waitress if she could serve us and she did not seem interested in doing that and said she would get someone to help, that never happened. I want to love this place because I have small kids and I love that there is a park close by, makes it nice to plan a park trip and then dinner, but the service is so disappointing and I hope they get it together. read more

I have a burrito that was salty, and the beef inside was pre-made, with no juice. Usually, when it's made to order, it's over-spiced. The food was okay but not outstanding. The service was very good, and the ambiance was pleasant. I recommend that making the food fresh to order would make a big difference; small improvements could make it tastier and fresher. They could also add different options like a shrimp burrito. Although making it to order takes more time, it would set it apart from fast food. read more

There is a long, attractive bar with comfortable chairs. Lots of great seating. This place will be rocking in the summer with its outdoor patios and windowed garage door walls. Really good service. Good margaritas. Solid Mexican food with some modern twists, and you can also order a smash burger, chicken fingers and other non-Mexican favorites. The interior is nice and the service has been good when I've been there. I went once for drinks and once for dinner with the family. When we went for dinner the rice was not cooked well. There was a lot of uncooked rice in every bite. This was true of all 4 meals we ordered. My wife's meal did not come with the cheese that was listed on the menu. She had to get it corrected and the waitress didn't know which one was supposed to be on her order. Once they get these issues ironed out I think it'll be good. read more
