Felt like some Mexican food tonight and decided to try a newer restaurant we had not been to before. Well they did not disappoint. The Mango Mojito I ordered was very refreshing and tasty. The chips and salsa were very good too. I ordered the Carne Asada meal with a pork tamale alacarte. It was so delicious with nice portions. Our server couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. The ambiance was nice with lively Mexican music playing in the background. Plus the restaurant and bathroom was very clean. I will definitely be going back. read more

Takes about 12-15 minutes to get seated, despite more than half of the place is empty. Short staffed. One bartender, maybe two wait staff and no hostess. Ordered Puebla, tinga style pizza, chicken fajitas, guacamole, tostada with chicken tinga. $53.47 Chips and salsa is out. Chips aren't great at all, almost taste stale even. House salsa has some heat. At least I won't eat too many corn chips, since they aren't so good here. They have a red and green salsa in a bottle, but not enough for the seated tables. Service is subpar for sure, need more help. Drinks are long empty. My husband wants more chips and salsa, takes a while to get anything and get attention too. Food takes about 17 minutes to come out. The corn tortilla isn't very good. Ate a couple of small bites of the Puebla, not for me. Doesn't have that fresh chewiness. The Tinga meat is okay. The tostada is crispy, but overall is was just okay. The pizza is different and definitely on a flat bread. It's okay. The mole, tinga and pickled onion doesn't do it for me. The guacamole is so-so, average as far as taste. The bottle of red salsa is spicier. The bottle of green salsa is an avocado base. Both mixed with the house salsa in the ramekin together aren't too bad. Food was quite average, didn't feel compelled to stuff myself, so that's a positive. Get the staff some help! We're experiencing an explosion in new Mexican restaurants in the metro area and we visited Taco Tequila Y Mas back in October of 2025 and it was great! This space is pretty huge and they have plenty of appropriate decor; nothing over the top, and it makes what could be a cold an uninviting industrial like space really comfy. Our service was very good! Quick, attentive, friendly! I had the Carne Asada Dinner, which looks like standard Mexican fare with the Spanish Rice, beans and veggies etc... but the steak was the star of the show! Tender, juicy and well seasoned. A really nice asada! It came with tortillas, so you could build little tacos or just eat off of the plate. I also ordered an assortment of street tacos to take home for later in the evening and I was very impressed! Chicken, pastor and birria; all were great on their corn tortillas! Lots of flavor and decently portioned. Loved all of them! I love supporting local businesses rather than chains, and I was very impressed! I'll be back to try a torta and a burrito!!! read more

I was here on a Sunday afternoon randomly decided to pop in to try this place out. I think they're newer, but don't quote me on it. The staff here was pretty friendly and it was rather quiet which I expected for the time of day I was visiting. The menu has a lot of items to choose from and the prices aren't half bad. I was hungry, but not starving, so I went with two birria tacos, a side of rice and beans along with a Sprite. I got chips and salsa, which were good, but nothing particularly special. The entree's here looked rather large, so I did the al a carte thing since I didn't want any leftovers. The tacos were huge when they came out, and the serving of rice and beans was quite large as well. Food was good and overall a decent experience. Went for a weeknight dinner. The remodeled space is casual & comfortable, sports bar feel with TVs on. We were treated at the door, taken to a table pretty quickly. Service was good. I had an al pastor taco and a tostada. Husband had 3 tacos, birria, chorizo & shrimp. Ample fillings. He said they were all good. My pastor wasn't really the marinated pork I've had other places; it was heavily seasoned with a paprika sauce, not what I expected , & didn't enjoy. My tostada was good, quite a lot on top but I could barely taste refried beans on it. We'll give them another try sometime, but feeling under impressed. So many great Mexican offerings in the area. I really wanted to like this resturaunt because the ambiance was very cute and vibey. However, the food and service was not very good. I ordered a Birria quesadilla and got a steak quesadilla. I felt bad saying anything at first and honestly didn't want to wait for a new one so I tried to eat it. In every bite I took there was fat in the steak I couldn't bite through. I will say who i'm presuming is the manager made it right by removing it from the bill, without us asking, and the manager is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. The waitress also never asked for our drink order, only providing waters and never brought the one drink we did manage to order. This place brought a small plastic to go cup with salsa, when we asked for more, she brought 2 more and charged us $2.00 for each small little carry out souffle cup. paying $4.00 for salsa that most places bring at no charge is ridiculous! We absolutely love the old takeout place taco tienda so we had to try this new restaurant that they opened up. The food is still very very good, but now it cost more, which we expected. The service seems to be hit or miss. Our waiter was not very attentive. It was busy. He did not bring us water for about 40 minutes. The waitress at the table next to us came around with a pitcher multiple times, so I think the service in general was good. We just got unlucky. My husband loved the fajitas and I thought the chicken quesadillas were delicious. You do not get free chips here. I thought you would but we did like that the dip came with three options. Update: Tried again, brought friends. They had the same problems. The manager / management really needs to address the service issues. We were there for 2+ hours because they are just so slow!! And got our order wrong 3 times!!! The waitress just disappears after each interaction. We were left sitting there with waters for 20 minutes! Then we order drinks and we look at them sitting at the bar window wondering when she's going to bring them. I started to get up to get them myself when the bartender noticed me and someone brought them over. C'mon Taco Tequila, get it together or this place is not going to make it. First time: Had a nice meal, but also had a few glitches. Took a minute or two to check out the drink menu and ordered a spicy Margarita and a regular margarita. The waitress asked if we wanted an appetizer and I ordered the chorizo and cheese app. She went off to make the drinks while we continued to peruse the menu. We ordered 1 chicken tamale, 1 pork tamale, 1 chorizo tostada and 3 other tacos. After waiting about 10 minutes we realized that our app did not come. We flagged down the waitress and asked where our app was, she walked over to the machine to put it in and we said, what you didn't put it in yet? and she admitted no. And then tried to talk us into still getting it, we declined. A couple minutes later our food came out. It was pretty good except they brought a chorizo Taco instead of a chorizo tostada. We pointed out the error to our waitress & she offered to bring a new one but again at that point it was too late. I thought the tamales were too dry and not enough meat, but the tacos were good. Another small pet peeve, we asked about chips and she said they were $4. I think that's a fail for a Mexican restaurant to not just provide something for you to snack on with your drinks while you wait for your meal. At $13.50 a margarita they can afford to give us a couple of chips and dip. The restaurant was nicely decorated. We sat at the bar which I found to be uncomfortable, but it just could be my height. My boyfriend didn't find it as uncomfortable as me. Because of the padded cushioning around the bar you have to lean over pretty far to get to your meal. I have been so excited for this place to open! I've been going to their original location (Tienda Mexicana right next door) for some time now. This place is an absolutely beautiful on the inside. From the neon lights, the decor, and especially the center point of the sunken bar. Their new location didn't disappoint. Food is just as fabulous, and now you can order a drink with it! Our table had ordered a quesadilla, carne asada dinner and enchiladas. I ordered a guava margarita, which was delicious but on the pricy side considering its size. The only note I have : I wish the service staff was more supported. While our server was AMAZING, they did seem fairly understaffed considering they were packed. Long time Taco Tienda customer here. I'm taking time to write this because I truly care. We were super excited when we learned this restaurant was coming to be. We were early patrons of the new restaurant and met the 'hiccups' in opening a restaurant and took it in stride. Each time we went, we were disappointed in the food and more so in the drink prices. We continued to come back as we really want to give support and hope things improve. We went again recently and didn't find much improvement. Though I will say, one smart change: you are no longer charged for chips and salsa (we always found it strange that they charged but that's fixed) Over our many visits, we have ordered much of the menu and overall it's good. But great is what we had come accustomed to at Taco Tienda. In our recent visit, we thought we would take advantage of happy hour. $7 nachos and $6 quesadillas ? Yes! Well we found it was a case of not so much. I mean the helpings were huge but that's the extent of that review. I feel Taco Tequilla Y Mas is running a model that focuses on liquor as a main function of income. It's probably working (for now). The cocktail cost is high relative to the food -meaning , if the food is amazing , charge me whatever you want for cocktails. It just has not been the case this year. Bottom line, I'd love the food to be more in line with Taco Tienda and pay the high prices for cocktails all day long. No problem. We've tried many times and just aren't finding the food that great. And if the cocktail prices are to remain this high, it has us leaving feeling kinda duped. Advice: find a blend of improving the food and reducing the cocktail prices. Play the long game. Customers will continue to come. We will visit again but will give it a bit of time. read more

Second visit. First time I ordered a huarache which was pretty good, but I would have preferred a thicker corn crust, but that's just a matter of preference. Tonight I ordered 3 tacos and a side of beans to go. Super disappointed. The tortillas are completely dried out and inedible. The meat was super dry and I could barely chew through it. Honest review; if you are looking for quick service and nice atmosphere this place has it. All waiters/waitresses very attentive. Food delivered about 5 minutes after order. Chips really had no flavor and were almost stale like. Every dish is spicy (love Mexican food but on the very mild side) Even their "Mild" salsa is spicy and their beans!! Chipotle mayo or chipotle ranch on most dishes that I wanted but I settled on the marinated pork tacos which were delicious. I am so excited to finally try the new taco Tienda!!! I've been a regular at their first restaurant for almost four years now & their new spot is just as good!!! They did such a great job decorating the restaurant. I especially love the tree that's right in the middle and the sunken bar. We ordered the trio dip to start with two Paloma's. The guacamole was so good, it had the perfect lime taste. I loved the queso and salsa as well. I ordered two chorizo tacos with rice and beans. The meat is so flavorful!! My friend ordered a Baja taco and chorizo taco. The toppings were piled on. My other friend ordered the red birria tacos. Everything was delicious! I am so proud and happy for the owners and workers! I believe this is the sister restaurant of the taqueria next door, Taco Tienda Mexicana. The food is very similar, authentic, and quite good. The restaurant is decorated nicely and unlike Taco Tienda, they serve alcohol. Tacos are served on corn tortillas with cilantro & onion. Basic Mexican food in a nicer than average setting. Went there with my wife and friends. The restaurant and bar were very cool inside. They are putting in an outdoor dining area too. The specialty tacos were unique and all three that I ate were delicious. My wife loved her enchiladas as well. Excellent salsas and a great selection of cocktails and mocktails. However, my enchiladas were not hot at all and their appetizer Queso was not even melted all the way. It was super clumpy and hard to scoop. My partner got the Mexican pizza and said the taste was good but he wished the bread for the pizza was crunchy. I agreed that the bread looked soft and floppy.
