Juan Miguel's offers great service and an overall decent dining experience. Pricing is a bit higher than the average Mexican restaurant. My wife and I started off with some drinks, the blueberry lavender margarita and the mango sunrise. The first thing that came to mind when I tried the former was "Mexican long island." The mango sunrise was delicious, and one of the better margaritas I've had locally. As for the food, we began the meal with complimentary chips and salsa and bowls of chicken tortilla soup. The chips were a bit stale. I order chicken tortilla soup most times it's on a menu, and this one was solid. For our appetizers, we got Miguel's nacho grande and a deep fried flour taco. Of these, I definitely preferred the nachos over the taco. I also preferred the flour chips from the nachos over the regular corn chips. For our entrees, my wife got cheese quesadillas, and I got the trio fajita. The quesadillas were run-of-the-mill. The trio fajita includes chicken, shrimp, and steak, and is quite a hearty dish. For dessert, we got the flan, which was to die for. My 3 favorite dishes from the meal were the soup, the nachos, and the flan. I would rather drive down to Mexicantown to get my fix of Mexican, but Juan Miguel's is a spot I would go back to.

I always love going to Juan Miguel's. Our food was fresh and the margaritas tasted great. Our server was super nice and welcoming and the ambiance was calming. They had live music playing: a man playing guitar instrumental Christmas music. I forgot to take a picture of it but I also ordered the fried ice cream. I definitely recommend the wet burrito and fried ice cream because they are both tasty and portioned well.

We have tried this restaurant in the past and remember it being pretty good. I don't know if today was an off day or what happened but the food just wasn't very good. The veggie fajitas almost tasted sweet and had an off flavor. The beans were almost tasteless, and the salsa had a smoky flavor. Just wasn't the experience we were looking for. The service was great and the food came super fast. The music was almost so loud it was hard to hear our conversation. Not sure we will try again.

I've been to this place so many times and don't know why I've never given the 5 star review it deserves!!! I've never had a bad meal or a bad experience!!! Always have had wonderful service and there's a guy who appears to be the manager...maybe he's actually Juan Miguel!!! He comes around and checks to make sure all is well. Their fajitas are amazing the fire goes up to the ceiling!!!! I've had taco salads...burritos..all great! This time I tried the fish tacos and they didn't disappoint...fresh cod prepared perfectly. My date had the Hungry Burro...very good. All around one of my favorite, nice Mexican restaurants in the area. Always clean and welcoming.

Best Mexican around. The chips are served warm. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. This chicken tortilla soup is insane!!! The birria tacos were delicious. So tender and flavorful. They don't skimp on the portions. The waitress surprised us with fried ice cream and singing to help celebrate my friend's birthday.

Went here with my family on a Saturday. Pretty busy! The bar had the games on if you wanted to eat there. Otherwise, you can get a table. The dining area was busy, but there was plenty or room. I ordered the fish tacos, which come as 3 tacos, rice, and beans. The waiters brought in the fajitas and ignited them as a little show for us, kinda like how they light saganaki in Greek restaurants. I didn't expect that in a Mexican restaurant. Otherwise, I'd get a video. Nice portions as well. Would go again.

Tonight was the right time to change that. They make very good use of the small footprint this place has. There is ample seating, if I counted right there's something like 12 tables and five or six high top options. Their primary business is carry out of course, but we found it nice to relax at a table and enjoy the ambience a little. Neither of us had a drink but we made a note of the full bar including a variety of margaritas. I'm sure they are well prepared. The somewhat limited menu is actually kind of a good thing. It means that most of their items can be brought out quickly. My wife and I both had tacos. She went with steak, and I went with pastor. Both were perfect and very well prepared. I was especially pleased at how favorable mine were with nice fresh onion and cilantro. The refried beans were also terrific, not too chalky or cakey but not too greasy either. I didn't care for my rice, but my wife enjoyed it. We also each had a flan for dessert. It was presented in a plastic container, but again this place is intended primarily for carryout. The flan was delicious and tasted freshly made. The staff were all in their young 20s but were all very friendly and accommodating. I'm looking forward to coming back here soon.

Since Agave and Lime is known for its bowls, I had to get one. I had the owners build one for me. It consisted of cilantro lime rice, adobo chicken, black beans, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, roasted corn, salsa roja, and truck sauce. The contents were as balanced as they could be, and the salsa roja and truck sauce complemented each other well. I also got the baja shrimp tacos. These tacos were flavorful, and more importantly, stuffed! The diced mangos were also a nice touch. My favorite part of the meal though was the cantina nachos. Similar to the bowl, the contents were well balanced, and all the right flavors were present. The nachos alone can easily feed a small group. If you look at breweries' food truck schedules prior to going like I do, be on the look out for Agave and Lime!

All working "alone". You have to ask for everything. Water. Straws. Napkins. Chips. Refills. With 3-4 waitresses walking around, why not work as a team?! Chips/Salsa/Cheese: Not house made/fresh. Just under a warmer. Food was okay, they ran out of Carnitas (Pork). I'd prefer to go to other Mexican establishments in the area. Birria tacos barely had any meat. When you watch workers walk over the same crumbled up napkin on the ground near the "bar"over and over, clearly no one cares or pays attention! Also, I found it odd that they didn't have a designated area for their personal waters. They just had it all over the bar counter. Very disappointing!

For almost 2 years now, my fiancé and I have frequented Don Patron at least once a month. This is the best Mexican food money can buy in the state and quite possibly this side of the country. Pictured below are just a couple of the meals I've had over the last few years. The burritos are all massive, so exciting. The portions are huge here. Most meals come with a side of rice and beans. This isn't your average rice though. This is the best rice I've ever eaten. They must cook it in chicken or beef broth - it's absolutely packed with flavor. I always ask for a side of Jalepeno, too. They grill the jalepeno and put Tajin (I think) on them. SO good! The fiancé (picky gal she is) has only ever ordered the Quesabirria tacos. When my lady likes something, SHE LIKES SOMETHING. She has tried Quesabirria at other places, and each time she is on the verge of tears because she claims "nothing even compares to Don Patron's Quesabirria". That is a direct quote. This is a restaurant I would gladly drive over an hour to get too, or even just wait in line in a cramped vestibule for 2 hours. It's that good. The staff are the cherry on top. Everyone is so incredibly nice. Most of them recognize my fiancé and I as we go so often! Handshakes and catching up on life is always part of our experience. This is my favorite restaurant in Michigan. It's quaint, but WOW does it have flavor. The best part, I rarely run into any lactose issues (as you all know, I'm severely intolerant of lactose). I love this restaurant. I pray for this restaurant. May their tables always be full of happy, paying customers!! To the staff at Don Patron, God Bless You. You have brought so much joy and satisfaction to us here in the greater Detroit Metropolitan area!
