Within two years of their service we lost the two ~150 year-old protected trees that they trimmed. Coincidence? You be the judge, but I certainly will not trust them again. 1. One of the trees they had had a large fungus growth on it, Juan point blank said "don't worry about that" and kicked it off the base of the tree. Obviously, I believed him... until ~6 mo later when a landscaper noticed it and next thing the city comes out and declared the tree diseased to the point it had to be removed. So either he was wrong about it being benign or lied about it and took our money to trim it anyway. You decide which is worse. 2. The second tree they trimmed came down in the rain last week, having obviously been left so imbalanced (and it lay on a hill) that it just toppled under its own weight. It's incredibly sad to lose giant beautiful trees like this, and we learned the hard way that taking care of them should not be entrusted to just anyone. read more

I have used Juan Franco Tree Trimming for many years. I have three 100 yr old Oak trees along with a giant pine and two crepe Myrtle's in my yard. This is in addition to a wall of huge Privets. Juan and his team have been trimming them for past 14 years and I have always been extremely happy with the work that has been done. This year he helped me redo all of my landscaping as I had a lot of construction done last year and all the landscaping had to be pulled out. WOW! My yard looks absolutely beautiful. My elderly parents (ages 85 and 80) received an in-person consultation about getting the many trees on their property topped, pruned, and shaped. They were happy with the consultation but were not quoted a price. They were told to await a written job proposal specifying the cost. Nearly two weeks has gone by and Mr. Franco has never followed up in any way, shape or form. My father has left both a text message and multiple, polite phone messages letting Mr. Franco know that he is awaiting the written proposal and next steps. Mr. Franco has totally ignored each and every message. This ghosting behavior by Mr. Franco is a shameful way to do business...and what a waste of everyone's time! Beware... read more

Pros: Very fast response time, professional crew & approach, excellent service, and cleanup afterwards Of the 3 vendors I contacted to perform tree trimming, Juan Franco was by far the fastest response. Not only did he respond quickly after first contact but he was also able to accommodate our smaller job into his schedule faster than originally planned. His crew arrived on-time and was professional the entire time. His crew manager, Jose, was also easy to work with and did a great job. They took care of all trimming, haul away, and clean up in about 3 or 4 hours. Hauling is difficult in our location and the crew made sure to work safely and did not damage property or surrounding areas. Absolutely would recommend this service and plan on using them next year. We have tried three or four times to get him to look at the situation to no avail. He keeps promising, but will not respond now. A few months ago, I reached out to Juan Franco regarding a huge tree problem we were having in the backyard, which needed immediate attention.There was a very large and tall tree that had been there since moving into that house, but it never seemed to be an issue until we realized there was a sticky substance coming out of the tree bark. Juan and his crew are fabulous. Unfortunately California hasn't had a whole lot of rain the past few years, which has left us with 2 very dead trees. Juan came right out, gave me an estimate I was happy with and we set a day to have the trees removed. The crew worked very well together and had the 2 trees cut, the stumps ground down and everything cleaned up in just under 4 hours. Well I don't know about all these rave reviews because the man keeps cancelling and rescheduling my appointment to get the work done. I liked the estimate he gave me and he seemed to know what he was talking about and gave me some good suggestions for my backyard once he arrived for our estimate appointment. He was about 45 minutes late, but I understand things do come up. I am beginning to think that all these five star ratings are from friends and family. I use yelp all the time, and I typically go to places or use places because of the reviews. I don't usually write reviews myself, but I thought why not start since I'm been receiving great feed-back from fellow yelp users. Juan Franco Tree Landscape Service was very professional and very tech savvy which made me feel a lot of better because instead of me having to do research after the initial walk around we got to discuss it right then and there with actually images and prices. Even though I had only a few trees to clean up and only a few bushes to trim Mr. Franco treated the job like it was a priority and I was still an important customer. I been through a few other companies who once they find out that you're not doing a lot of work they kind of push you to the side like you're a waste of time. Mr. Franco knew my budgeted and didn't exceed my budget and even suggested other ideas what I can to do in the future so the trees and bushes don't get out of hand and only need to get maintenance every 8-12 months. As we talked further, I found out he did maintenance for the lawn and flowers so I know have him coming every month now! Juan used to be really good but now it is very difficult to get a response from him to set up an appointment. I think it's because last time I did him the favor of paying him without the invoice that he promised to send that evening but didn't send it for days and I had to text him multiple times to get it. It's a rental unit so I needed it to deduct expenses. If you're that arrogant then it doesn't matter how good you are, there are plenty of other services. We called Juan Franco Tree Service to trim up our huge Jacaranda tree in the front yard. Juan and his crew did an excellent job cleaning up the tree and making it look good and they did it at a reasonable and fair price. They also trimmed a couple of trees in the backyard. When they were done they cleaned every branch off our yards. I highly recommend this company. We are having them come back next week for a quote on some landscaping work in the backyard. Juan Franco is Awesome!!. Juan the owner is wonderful to work with. He was very passionate about the landscaping surrounding my home. I have used his services for tree trimming, tree removal, backyard design, planting and sprinkler repair. Juan was able to design a sprinkler configuration that would allow the flowers in my walkway flourish. He did it on the 1st try, unlike The Sprinkler Repair Guy who after at least 5 times did not ever get it correct. In fact I have so much trust in Mr. Franco that I recommended him to my Mom.
