There is only Juan In A Million, thankfully...otherwise I'd be fat. I make it over a couple times/year. Usually when I have out-of-towners who need a little Tex-Amex shock and awe. Be prepared to wait when you get here, but it's not a long wait. I think Juan should jar his salsa and sell it. It's pretty damned good. The Don Juan is all of you've heard about and then some. Get the extra tortillas - you'll need them. Easily feeds 2-3 people. There are better breakfast tacos in ATX but nothing compares to the "wow" factor the Don Juan. I like the Con Queso plate as well. It's time to update Juan of my favourite reviews I've written. Unfortunately, this Juan will not be as favourable. My previous review was of my experience eating their breakfast tacos at a catered event, but this time I came to dine in with my friends. The service was very slow. Our food came in a reasonable time, but the servers just took so long every time to come over. Also, they were very insistent that everyone in our party be present to be seated. They led us to a back room that had a lot of empty tables, so we were baffled by how strict they were. I got the Don Juan El Taco Grande, which is a huge breakfast taco. The server recommended getting two extra tortillas, and I'm glad I did because you could fill all three tortillas and more. After tax and tip, my portion ended up being $12. I don't give out 5 stars often, but this place was amazing! We walked in and were seated immediately. The lines did get long later in the morning on Saturday closer to 9:30 AM. There's parking in the back that's free until 3 PM. My husband got the grande taco and the migas taco and I got the huevos rancheros with one egg. You have to ask for the green salsa to come with the chips, but both the red and green salsa served table top were a little spicy. The migas tacos had good melted cheese, and their grande taco was enough to make almost 5 breakfast tacos. I loved the ranchero sauce on the huevos rancheros. I would definitely order it again. Service was amazing. Our coffee and water was refilled consistently. They have it down that you can get in and out pretty quickly. They do not sit you until your whole party is there, but there is a lot of seating inside the small building. Granted, we weren't super hungry, but the value here is unparalleled! I've only ever gotten the Don Juan here, but this time we ordered a couple other plates. Of everything we ordered, I liked the Chorizo Con Huevo the most. I felt like it was flavorful and was a nice mixup from my usual. We were promptly seated outside and I appreciate that their patio is shaded and have fans blasting. We put our name on a waitlist, waited about 10 mins and were promptly seated inside. I got a lime jarrito and my husband got a mimosa for $2.50 (unheard of in this economy). The portion was gigantic and I needed to buy an extra tortilla to make it two tacos. The location was also very large and there were a lot of people. The service was very quick once we were seated and they were able to give us our orders quickly. Even though the place is delicious, there was a lot of hype about this place and I expected a lot more. There was a line outside and parking was hard to find even though they were at a plaza. Ambiance (4/5): I love all the Corona and Dos Equis piñatas and flag banners decorating the walls and ceilings! It gives this place a laid back, fun vibe. The tables in the extension where we sat are mostly white folding tables and folding chairs so not fancy or the most comfortable but does the job! Service (5/5): We were given menus right away and got the coffees and water soon after. Staff were attentive, refilled our coffees and waters, and served our food very quickly too! Texas Rib Steak Breakfast (3/5): I ordered this because I was torn between this and the huevos rancheros. Since this came with rancheros sauce I went for it! I'm used to a thicker rancheros sauce so I was a bit sad about that. The steak was beautifully seasoned and cooked to a medium rare as requested but was on the fattier and thinner side. Eggs were a perfect over easy as requested but the egg yolk burst in the sauce and got lost in there since the sauce was quite thin. The potatoes were fine -- nothing crazy here. Others at the table ordered differently (flautas, breakfast tacos, etc.) and for full disclosure I'm a bit jealous. Probably they were reserved? They never got occupied until we left. So no idea! My order: Huevos Rancheros Chips con Ranchero Huevos a la Mexicana Horchata Coffee Side of Rancehro sauce - since the salsa was super spucy Loved my entree and the chips except for the Salsa. The tortillas were small and soft. I loved the authenticity and the price but the quantity was less. The potatoes were tiny pieces unlike other places and I loved it. The eggs, rice were all good. The highlight was the Ranchero sauce. Super yummy! 4-star because the Salsa was super spicy for me. They did not have a mild-spicy salsa for replacement and we had to wait a little for our water & straws. That is not going to stop me from coming to this place! Where do I even begin?? This place is a slice of heaven on earth. I literally had not a single even mediocre bite. The chips were warm and seasoned perfectly with a tiny hint of citrus. The queso was drinkable. I didn't. But I would if I were alone. I got the Don Juan Taco and it was actually 4 and a half tacos amount of the most divine, soft potatoes, cheese, and eggs. In it were bits of thick bacon that was crispy and sublime. I also got a Carne Guisada taco with lettuce and tomato. It was cooked perfectly, the bits of beef were thick and tasty, and seasoned so perfectly. My only regret is that I didn't mix the chip crumbs and queso together and ate it with a spoon like a bowl of cereal. And I was able to wash this all down with a gigantic glass of delicious ice cold lemonade. The service was spot on and only smiles and kindness. The decor was wonderful and the outdoor patio was perfect in the shade but the mesh made it so that my hair didnt blow into my wide open mouth while I shoveled down all this incredible-way-to-good-for-me food. read more

The potatoes were bland today and the refried beans needed salt. They use sharp cheddar cheese which isn't my favorite. The Queso is runny so it doesn't stick to your chip but it's a good tasting Queso almost similar to Alamo Cafe in San Antonio. The breakfast sausage that they put in the tacos is simply cut up frozen patties. It's not traditional pan or country sausage. Sadly Juan in a Million doesn't have fresh homemade tortillas. This is a must for any decent Mexican restaurant. We tried a beef fajita taco and the beef had great authentic flavors. It was tender and the quality seemed good. The prices here are fair and that's probably why they don't go over the top with more expensive ingredients. I'm gonna have to try more taqueria spots down east Cesar.
