It's a good place to visit with your family and friends and share some pastries, in my case, we shared a guava cheese, Spanish and a ham bum. Pan de bono was warm, fresh. Just looked the photos! Such a great coffee shop! I was surprised and excited to see dogs at this establishment and very quickly realized this is a very dog friendly area. Yummy coffee! Didn't expect a simple cup of coffee to taste so good. Juan Valdez isn't close to my home but I happened to be in the area and needed a cup a Joe. I sent my husband in and told him to get me a hot coffee with a shot of vanilla, oatmilk, and sugar. When I took that first sip I was instantly hooked. The foam on top took it to another level! The coffee was smooth, yet robust. It didn't have that burnt flavor that most strongly flavored coffee shops serve. It managed to have a punch while still being very smooth and delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating available. My pumpkin latte had a nice flavor and My sister loved her nevado americano. They also sell ground coffee Juan Valdez signature. The inside set up is cool with a number of different coffee styles for the aficionado. The almond and chocolate croissants were worse than the frozen kind you bake yourself. This Juan Valdez Cafe is really hard to miss and is located right at the front of Cityplace Doral and adjacent to The Fresh Market. I've tried Juan Valdez Cafe unexpectedly at least twice now while at Cityplace Doral. Both times, I found their lattes to be satisfactory and fairly strong, but nothing out of the ordinary. They do serve some food here, but nothing that I had been interested in so far so I have no opinion there. And besides, Cityplace has better food. Random Fun Facts: Juan Valdez Cafe is a popular chain in Colombia that also originated from there. They've opened more locations here recently and around the world. Even Starbucks has been paying attention to them so much so that Starbucks recently headed to Colombia to compete with Juan Valdez on their own turf. The coffee here is excellent. I found the service to be very good, especially since in this area the default is Spanish and so for English speakers it can sometimes be a bit frustrating. Nice interior space with couch. Not recommended for getting any work done. Internet is horrible, extremely! slow to doesn't work (see test) And cell reception is not great either. I'm not a frufrú coffee drinker just give me a good strong black coffee with a splash of half/half & send me on my way & Juan Valdes delivered. Their brew was strong, flavorful & had a nice aroma. Unfortunately, unlike Starbucks, my coffee was not piping hot so when I poured the half/half, it became drinkably warm. The prep table is limited to creams & sugars so don't expect a variety of stuff to kick up your java a notch. Place - It's small but it has a nice/cozy decor to it. Guests take advantage of its seating for chatting with friends or studying since it seems that it offers WiFi. It has a limited but attractive snack selection but nothing that'll ruin your dinner. Staff is courteous & efficient.
