It did not fix the problem - the ice maker still did not work. I contacted Michael three times asking for assistance to further address the problem. He did not follow up, nor did he reimburse for the service call. On a related note, I watched as Michael "tested" the water valve. After the fact and when I did my own research on how to test a water valve, I learned that Michael did it incorrectly - he did not place the multimeter leads on the appropriate terminals. When I did it correctly, I found out that my water valve was still functional. In other words, something else was the cause of the problem. I am most dissatisfied with Michael's failure to follow up with me. He writes about his business, "Honesty and customer satisfaction are my number one goal." At no point, before or during the repair, was I given a total cost estimate outside of the initial $175 or a chance to approve the total job amount prior to completion. It was shocking, then, that the final invoice came out to $800: a $175 diagnostic fee, two hours of labor at $175/hour, and a $275 charge for a part (contactor) that retails for $50 or less. In addition, I wasn't given an invoice upon completion of the job, but rather I had to ask for it twice afterward. If any part of this review gives you pause, I'd consider taking your business elsewhere.

Yesterday the owner Dave installed a new slide out bracket for the left side of my high-end Fisher and Paykel refrigerator freezer only to discover it is apparently an after market very cheap version, is not the same in appearance as the right side, and also longer in length than the right side, causing the left side of the pull out freezer to not seal when the freezer door is closed. I woke up this morning (once again) to a completely thawed freezer, popsickles melted all over the place, and hundreds of dollars in ruined defrosted meat. When I called this morning to get them back out here, the woman, Amy, from Bilder Appliance who took my call was defensive, rude, and completely unempathetic to my situation. When I commented on the part she, in an attempt to pass blame to the home warranty company, incorrectly told me that the home warranty company ordered my part (trying to put the blame on them) however, yesterday (addressing the delay in getting out to my house) Dave specifically told me that "he" had to order it because the home warranty company asked him to. Additionally, the soonest Bilder can come back out for their 3rd attempted repair is ONE WEEK. I have overnight company coming today for 4 days and asked if they could please escalate me up the priority list because this was the 3rd time attempt to address the problem and the woman who took my call said (with an attitude) "many of the customers scheduled ahead of me are repeat calls" like mine so no, she could not bump me up the list.
