I'm only giving it 4 stars because they don't have anything unique that you can't get anywhere else. Consistency is usually my biggest complaint. I have been to a few different locations of this chain and usually like the drinks. Granted I have always gotten a juice of some kind until recently. So I decided to try a smoothie this past visit and asked for it without banana because I find it too sweet for my taste. Well, what I got was a green, watered down "smoothie". It was basically a cold juice! I don't know if they added too much ice or if it was because I left the banana out, but everything except the flavor was not good. I ended up adding my own yogurt to make it thicker and creamier. Otherwise I do enjoy visiting the establishment as I like all the different drink options and snacks available. The atmosphere is bright and cheery as well. I do tend to make my own juices and smoothies at home so I don't come often, but if you don't have the means to do that or are craving something good to drink, I would still suggest tying it out. Second time I try the Matcha Chip and it forces me to give a 1 star review. First of all, first time I tried I asked for hemp milk and cashier was friendly and didn't say anything expect a respond to my "how do you like it" and completed the order. Watermelon, pineapple and apples are fruits that I'd eat at any given point but I wasn't sure how the ginger was going to play out in the beverage. I've been ordering the protein buzz smoothie about 3 times a week for several months. What I LOVED about it is that you have a choice of proteins and milk. Today I discovered that choice is no longer available. If I want my drink with whey protein, I have to pay an extra $1, bumping the price up to $12/smoothie. Why is this exactly? There is seemingly no rationale that I can discern. While it seems like a small amount, the dollars add up, and it is the lack of thought towards the customer in this price gouging that I am vehemently opposed to. I'm a big fan of Juice Generation and is probably the best (healthy) smoothie & juice option in the city, in my opinion. I used to frequent the 63rd & Lexington location (at Equinox gym) every few days when I worked in Midtown East. This is a stand-alone location, and a really beautiful one at that. Much more room and much nicer and prettier than any of the other locations in the city. I like to come here for a smoothie as a Lunch Meal Replacement if I'm not that hungry, or don't know what I want, or wanna lose weight lol. To me, the best smoothies/shakes they offer are the: - Joyful Almond: almond butter, banana, coconut milk, cacao nibs...I like to use Almond milk as the base, and add their vegan-based protein (hemp, rice, pea), cause it tastes better than whey. Very filling and an excellent meal replacement. - Coco Acai: acai berries, coconut oil, coconut milk, banana...and like to use Hemp milk as the base, and add their vegan-based protein (hemp, rice, pea). Not as filling, and more of a dessert smoothie in my opinion. Their Green Juices and Fruit Smoothies are good as well, but really more of an in-between meal snack, or dessert, for me. And I like their Acai Bowls with Hemp Granola for breakfast every now and then for a healthy option instead of an omelette, lol. They also offer Juice Cleansers (like BluePrint, for example) at a lower cost and more convenient as well, and frankly more fresh as they make them there. I've tried their Vegan salads and quinoa plates, as well as their Vegan muffins and cookies, and they're pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I think all their offerings are pretty good, but I'd stick with the Smoothies (Protein & Fruit ones) and Green Juices, as that's where they excel! So just to make myself feel better, I'm going to preface this review with some general observations about the world: Wealth inequality will almost certainly be the downfall of western civilization. People shouldn't have to pay exorbitant amounts for access to healthy, fresh produce. Those that have should give more to charity. The consumerist urge inevitably poisons the soul. The place is clean and spacious with some seating outside; not much inside. They also have a super fun photo booth that does quick boomerang videos. It's a great idea.
