The staff is incredibly friendly and polite. They have great customer service. Mauricio knows what each ember of my family orders in the Deli section. Their sandwiches are tasty. The toasted bagels with bacon, egg and cheese are delicious. We shop there a lot so it's our to go store for everything. Something are a bit pricier than other places, but the sandwiches are cheaper than many places I have been in the past. I highly recommend this place as they sale a variety of items. This market is a convenient place to grab a quick bite to eat or to get some groceries if I'm in the wall st/wtc area. The groceries are always high quality and they carry things that might be hard to find elsewhere! There's a lot of options for a meal which keeps things interesting. And the workers are all helpful and friendly. Everything is expensive in the area so it's kind of understandable that the prices will be slightly higher. In a pinch and for convenience, sure. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Of course, it's overpriced, but that's to be expected. Most of their employees are either lazy, inept or don't feel empowered to do anything that's not an exact part of their job description. Here are some of the things which make this place tough to like. - it's 11:15 AM on a Saturday and both deli employees are on break. How about you take staggering breaks so you don't have to close down the deli while 4 customer would like to buy food (and that was just over 5 minutes)? With all the other employees around, not one could be bothered to put a ready made sandwich into a panini press for me. - when items are restocked, frequently, they move them to a different part of the store and when i can't find something, there is a good chance they don't know what I'm asking for. - charge for bags without asking if i want one. - refusal to allow return on items which are spoiled unless you have a receipt BUT they don't give you a receipt. - Gotten food poisoning from their ground chicken. No money back and they just tell you they're sorry. Nothing is actually done about it. - with any food recalls (like with the recent Oatly scare), I had to tell them about it. They were unaware of the recall. What's worse? They don't do anything about it. Their employees act like lazy, don't care high school employees (but they are actually adults) who show zero initiative to help this business and it's customers. Management should consider reevaluating their hiring and training praxtices. read more

I like this place because this is conveniently located near the core industrial centre near the wtc, just below the 200 west shade. Customers from the company, for regal cinemas or the residents nearby find this place super.convenient to take a quick bite of all gourmet items. The wait isnt bad and you can find everything you need for snacking including Bread, Sandwiches, Kombuchas, Yogurts, Salads, Mac n Cheese, Fizzy drinks, Mineral water and others that I cant seem to remember. Prices are higher than Whole Foods but the quality of everything is incredibly consistent and fresh. Avocadoes are always perfectly ripe, the salmon feels sensusous and fresh in my hands, and even the oat milk seems to stay fresh longer. The only problem is that there are *no* cheap options for anything. The lowest grade eggs they sell for example, is free-range. You can't find anything like $3 styrofoam-packed, not-free-range, not-organic, not-large-or-jumbo cheap alternatives. There are no cheap fish options outside of $13 salmon. Not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes I just want a cheap, easy purchase of something in a pinch. They literally only sell high-quality stuff. Lots of hip stuff here! I've found things like fermented broccoli juice, Jane's cookies, quinoa chips, matcha-flavored skyrr, lovely teas, German pumpernickel slices, and Vietnamese coconut clusters. Their trendy things seem to rotate a little frequently, which is nice because it's fun to see what new quirky chips or coconut snack they have to offer every couple of weeks/months. You can also feel how fancy this place is by looking at their nut butters and honeys -- they sell an actual honey comb thing that looks way too fancy and beautiful for me to use, and they have all sorts of exotic almond butters and rustic chocolate granolas. I used to go to their deli section until I realized I prefer cooking. They have lots of choices that have thus far all been satisfying. We LOVE our neighborhood market. We've lived here for three years now and BPM has always been consistently great, and the staff is so warm + friendly. Produce selection and quality is always incredible, they're very rarely out of anything, and they have everything we need in a pinch and more. The deli is quick and everything is great. We miss the pre-COVID hot bar and sushi counter so much!!! Hopefully they'll make their eventual returns when it's safe to do so. read more

The prepared food is fresh and vibrant. There is more things being cooked here than just chicken fingers. There are mains and sides worthy of a great restaurant. While prices are certainly higher than your typical food store around the city, you'd be hard pressed to find a place with such good selection of freah, organic, and gourmet foods that are perfect for lunch and dinner. The staff is very friendly, and it is led by an awesome head chef, Anthony. While the other BPM at 240 Murray St services the office crowd at lunch and has a better espresso machine, this location offers much better variety. Just moved in to FiDi and was looking for a nearby grocery and market and thanks to our trusty Yelpers, I found this place. A good 8 minute walk from my place, I braved the cold and found this worth checking out. It's not a big space but it's a good place to start if you needed some essentials. I needed eggs, salt, pepper, protein bars, coffee, Splenda, ketchup, water, and I was craving for some serious good steak so I needed to get meat and found a good piece of dry angus sirloin to cook for dinner. All of these, I found here! Worth sharing too that they have fresh fruits and ice cream and desserts and some basic meds as well. What's great is they have a cafe in the middle in case you need hot coffee and drinks and pastries, ready made food to go, saw some cooked chicken and ribs etc, salad station, pasta choices and sandwiches. When I was there late in the evening, they had a buy one take one thing going on, in case you want to take advantage of that. :) ATM machine at the far back too, should you need to get cash. Best part is the Yelp offer of - $10 if you purchase anything above $50 when you check in. That's not a bad savings at all! Oh and they deliver within the area! I asked for a small coffee but in a medium cup so I wouldn't spill it on myself in the car and was told that they would have to charge me 25 cents for the cup. No reasoning, just that that was the policy. I would understand if there was more coffee, but I would be getting a cup with the small so what's the markup for? Do larger cups coats 25% more than small cups? Needless to say I walked out, because f that. Maybe I just had a bad experience but I ordered a couple things with seamless and they were SO GROSS!!!! I ordered a latte and it was so bitter I couldn't drink it even after I put some sugar in. I also ordered a chicken caesar salad wrap and it has a fish-y taste to it. I know that sometimes sardines or some kind of fish is "in" the dressing (there aren't actual pieces of fish), and it has happened before, but never have I spit out my food because of it until today. I got a small fage yogurt, so unless it's expired, I'm sure that will be fine.... The one thing that they didn't make themselves. I was looking forward to finding a "new" place to order from, but it looks like I'll be sticking to the same couple places I already know. The only good thing was that delivery didn't take long, and the prices were average for the area. It was $20 for the three items, and that includes tax and tip. I stopped by here at night because I really needed a cup of coffee and it was the only place open in the area. The coffee itself was pretty good, and I did like that they had three different varieties of coffee. When I asked about the different types of coffee, however, nobody was very helpful. The staff seemed completely disinterested in doing their job and like they didn't know what to say. One person asked for help from another, who asked another... and the best answer I could get was a "I don't know". Oh well. This place used to be great. They had the best gourmet sandwiches around and a wonderful variety of pre-prepared hot and cold foods. Now, the new owners look like they are just phoning it in. The only pre-made sandwiches they have are hot press paninis. Really? You can get those at any crap deli. The hot foods are now sitting and baking in a no-sneeze guard, Vegas style buffet table. I couldn't even bring myself to sample one of them. It's just a terribly unappetizing look. I hope the new owners can get it together in time to keep their customers with sophisticated palates. If you are in Battery Park, this is like the new BALDUCCIS that once was a village landmark. All of the top quality food and drink items YOU COULD WANT!! I just did a catering and the food was OVER THE TOP. Every guest was craving for more and more. PASTA platters, cheese spreads, desserts til your stomach exploded. SOOOOOO GOOOOD!! To the corporate bees working in the food wasteland called Battery Park, the complete renovation of Goldman Sachs Alley is a much needed metamorphosis. No longer do I have to run to Rite Aid to grab Chex Mix and Lindor truffles and call it a lunch! The latest addition, Battery Place Market (open from 6:30 am til 7 or 8 pm I think), has become a new magnet for my unhealthy junk food addiction. This place sells Dough doughnuts. As in the artisan Doughnut Plant-esque doughnuts. As in the doughnuts that come in Lemon Merengue, Chai Tea, Dulce de Leche, Coconut, Nutella Bombolini, Blood Orange, Raspberry varieties for $2.50. I'm regretting typing this, since some of you will snatch them up before I make my daily runs now, so I suggest you pick up the Robicelli cupcakes for $2.75 or the $1 Sullivan St Bakery cookies instead. Their food tends to be slightly expensive, but when you're neighbors with $7 burgers from Shake Shack, $11 salads from Beans & Greens, $4 croissants from Payard, i guess you've got to join in with the competitive pricing. The $6.75 Greek salad is a good steal though, and their Chicken Caesar has quickly become part of my lunch rotation. The sandwiches have been good albeit pricier than what I've gotten at Devon & Blakely, but there is a marked different in quality (Tuscan Ham baguette sandwich for $8 was good and I imagine the Steak baguette sandwich with truffle aioli for $10 is good as well). Since it's just opened, coming here at 12 has been a breeze. No fellow office drones to scream over when I'm telling the sandwich guy what I want, no lines, and a place to finally indulge my insatiable doughnut cravings. read more

Baked goods here are pretty reliable; and the staff is friendly. There's a good selection of cheeses. Having recognized the owner of Zaytuna (now Cucina Liberta) as an archenemy of humanity, I must do my part to warn folks away from there - and now I can help direct people to Battery Place Market. This place is so, so bad. They consistently mess up delivery and pick-up orders, and are completely unapologetic about it. This morning they left the bacon off my bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. When I called to request compensation, they put me on hold for an unreasonably long time and then said that not only would I have to go in to the store (vs. delivering a new order or just refunding my card) but that I would also have to RETURN the bacon-less sandwich. So I've been carrying around a cold egg and cheese sandwich with one bite taken out of it around all day. I guess they are planning to resell it! I'd laugh if it wasn't so obnoxious and unethical. The recent change in owners has really taken a toll on the quality of this place. What was once a great prepared food and sandwich selection has become a bottom of the barrel generic deli fare. The once curated selection of quality products has become a mishmash of everyday stuff you can find at the Gristedes a block away. And the coffee... the prices stayed the same but now they serve some weak, no taste roast iced and hot coffee that's so not worth the price. I'm through with this place. The staff is always so kind and helpful, they really go above and beyond to help you find whatever item you are looking for! I also love the wide variety of foods that this store carries. They have some of my favorite biscuits from Germany and France that I have yet to find anywhere else since moving to the states! So happy to have them close by!! read more

Oh, bpm. If only gristedes weren't the only other grocery option in battery park, I'd go to gristedes. There's nothing really wrong with bpm. It's clean, organized, the staff is always friendly, the prepared food is excellent as far as the buffet section at a glorified bodega goes. Sure, sometimes you are reaching for the tongs or macaroni and cheese in the buffet section, and a worker swoops in to take it away at the last second, but they're just doing their job and you're there right before closing. My gripe is with how expensive literally everything is, even for the neighborhood, even for new york city. And some of the food is clearly expired or rotting. Like I saw some gray basil there the other day - that was not basil. If only I weren't so darn lazy, I'd go somewhere else for a single banana and an egg roll. The staff at the front desk is friendly but my experience with the deli staff has been really disappointing. The 3 eggs scrambled soft sandwich (basic) was fried eggs over hard. They ran out of hero rolls, so I bought a long loaf to use instead. The guy grilled me for a receipt. He treated other customers completely differently than me.
