I just finished my first seven day cleanse -level two- with JuiceLand on Duval. I did it to jumpstart my decision to go off of grains altogether and to clean myself out a bit as I've been feeling "blah." Here is my overall assessment. 1. I was never hungry. Not once. Yes, I wanted food, but I never felt I needed food. 2. I feel energized. I have been able to stay awake longer, I feel better when I get up and I've had no caffeine. 3. My mood has been very positive despite being in a situation that would usually get me quite down (not having my husband in town for two weeks so I was doing the meal prep for the kids while fasting) 4. It really is easy. Other than going to get the juices and remembering to have them in a cold pack while I'm running around, it was painless. I didn't have to think about what I was going to make myself to eat, I just grabbed a red or a green and went out the door. 5. I have a new appreciation for flavors I didn't consider before...carrot and beet primarily. 6. I have had no headaches, no stomach issues and haven't missed my caffeine...too much. ;) 7. I've lost weight and my skin does look a lot better. A friend told me that she saw a marked difference between last Week and now. 8. I'm in my mid-40s and I had no hot flashes all week. Not one. 9. The cold shower is the best thing ever! I had to put some stevia in the Tiger Lilly to make it palatable at first but I got accustomed to it. I liked all the reds, especially the CPR and the liver detox. 10. Food tasted INCREDIBLE tonight. Sautéed sweet potato greens on top of a roasted butternut squash....wow and no belly issues after. Ill do it again and will likely keep stopping in for my cold shower when I take my son to school in the mornings. It is heavenly. read more

I really love this location. This Juiceland is very accessible, and while the parking lot is small, I've never had a problem parking here. There's wi-fi, and they share space with Sweet Ritual (they serve up some good ice cream too). The atmosphere is very relaxed as well - the colors and different paintings make the whole place inviting. Super friendly staff. read more

I come in here 3+ times a week and Im not afraid to admit that. I think this is the best Juiceland in town because they are always quick and nice. I probably spend too much money there but they have fivestar so I also save on some orders. Try the Mate variations! I miss the aqua frescas. read more

Wow. So everything is very expensive. Don't expect a basic smoothie you can make at home- everything is top notch quality here and the price says it. They take card and this location in particular has a arcade game and records section which was nice to peek through while I waited. The folks there were definitely knowledgeable and suggested great options based on my personal likes. I don't regret spending $15 on a large smoothie, but it was definitely a one time thing. MESSED UP MY DRINK. I ordered a simple drink three things and they added celery! after they had brought it out. they took it back dumped some out and added 5+ stalks of celery. If I wanted f*&king celery I would have asked for it. Really $7 for a small can only taste celery drink. Never going back- will not recommend. that's bull shit! read more

I literally signed up to yelp just to review this place... I can't remember ever disliking an establishment that much. My girlfriend and I tried it on a whim as we were heading home after playing tennis. First of all, these smoothies are expensive. Maybe even double what I would pay at Jamba Juice. ($4.50 vs $8-9 for a sixteen ounce) For that price I was expecting a damn good smoothie. Instead what we got was so horrible that my girlfriend was repulsed after the first sip and gave the rest to me. (Beware of the Originator). Mine was a bland strawberry banana whey smoothie (Ta Tonka) that was barely palatable. So now I'm stuck with a mediocre smoothie and a disgusting blend of fruit and peanut butter. As I type this review I am still trying to force these smoothies down my gullet and am left with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth and $18 less in my wallet. read more

While I also buy at the Juiceland on Burnet Rd, the Duval shop was my flagship Juiceland for years, so I'll give it my review. Juiceland always has a friendly hipster behind the counter ready to greet me and take my order. I always order the same juice, so I haven't necessarily tested their menu knowledge...but I've stood behind many a customer with probing questions regarding juice/smoothie ingredients, so I've seen the employees flex their juicing muscles first hand. The ingredients at every Juiceland are organic and fresh; I've never had a bad drink there. They also serve dry foods like kale and health-conscious energy bars, as well as pre-bottled juices and refrigerated pre-packaged health food. Another new food item is a fresh-to-order falafel wrap you can get between noon and 3 pm. Juiceland makes sure that the atmosphere in each of their stores is relaxed and welcoming. It's a place you can go to chat with a buddy, have a quiet drink while reading, or just people watch. Go to the one on Duval, though, and you can also play a free arcade game and browse their vinyls. :) All in all, Juiceland gets an A+ in my book! read more

Headed to Austin for the weekend and decided to balance out all the indulgent eating we had already did by trying out a healthier choice for "dinner." We loved Juiceland! We shared the Quinoa Ranchero and the Feast in the Middle East for dinner. I don't know why we thought vegan food was going to be bland and boring -- these were full of flavor and very fresh! As a beverage, I had the cucumber mint agua fresca while my husband had the Tikal smoothie. I loved how you can taste both the cucumber and mint clearly in the agua fresca and it was just slightly sweet and super refreshing. My husband enjoyed his very green smoothie, lol! We will definitely be back again on our next trip to Austin! read more

Ambiance (4/5): a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Not a clean/upscale or smoothie king like interior, but it was more casual. Service: I didn't order but idk. Gosh dang this place is overpriced! The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the smoothie is good, but it was $10 for a medium and the medium is small! I could've gotten a full breakfast at a restaurant for that price. A smoothie should not be more than $6 MAX. I won't be going back here again and will be going to Jamba Juice instead. read more

I love both the juices and smoothies available at Juiceland. This is the location closest to where I live, but sadly it is the hardest to get to. The parking is minimal and it sits on a busy corner with lots of traffic. They are also not the quickest in service compared to some of the other locations around town. read more

Juiceland is all-in-all a great experience. They have a great selection (almost too many things-- how to decide!) and you can really taste the quality and smell it too! Their staff is nice and despite the line (a sign of their quality IMO), they move things along pretty quickly. I tend to get smoothies and really love the Originator, as it's composition is very well balanced, but I recently ordered the Power Plant and enjoyed the earthiness. Yet to be disappointed with anything I've ordered and will keep going back! read more

This place is very expensive, but very high-quality. The best deals are the specials, which are always excellent. My favorites are Morning Sunshine, Bambataa, and Originator. Recently I decided I'd have a healthy breakfast and decided to get a juice/smoothie. I knew that I could place my order ahead and just be able to pick it up on my way to work so that was a plus. While on their ordering site I saw that they had daily specials. I ended up going with the Wednesday special that is "The Originator". I thought it was a hell of a deal, 18oz drink for $5.95! That's a bargain! Hell, I even threw in a decent tip albeit I'm just gonna say my name, get my drink and bounce. I get there and it was a little awkward because I came in and the person behind the counter just came across as they were reluctant to acknowledge me. I just said my name and mentioned that I had a pick up. They hand me my drink and I immediately notice that the cup was in fact, a 16oz cup. I was about to leave but turned around and said "I thought this was supposed to be an 18oz?". I was immediately met with "It IS 18oz." Well, having managed restaurants and all that kinds of stuff and just being a frequent consumer of to go beverages, I knew it wasn't. Sure enough, I get to my car and it was a 16oz cup. Based on the welcome demeanor I was met with inside, I opted to just head to work and not be late to argue with some hipster kid at a juice shop. I have photos of the bottom of the cup clearly stating it is a 16oz cup. So one of two things are happening here. A. The employees here don't know what size cups they have and clearly don't care about customer satisfaction. or B. JuiceLand is ripping all of their customers off by charging them for a product that they're not delivering. Either way, I think I'll head to other juice places in the future. read more

Yes, it's expensive, yes, it's still sugar even though it's disguised as healthy. But it's better for you than sugar and it's right by house and man oh man this is my favorite spot. Worst Smoothie Ever. I ordered a custom smoothie that consisted of greens, coconut water, and a tiny bit of banana. I make this smoothie at home and get it at the Soup Peddler and its always chalked full of yummy greens. Unfortunately Juiceland gave me a cup of coconut water with a tiny bit of greens sitting on the bottom of the cup. I asked for more greens and they gave me another cup filled with half coconut water, half foam, and a tiny bit more greens on the bottom of the cup that were not thoroughly blended. What did they charge me for flavored coconut water, a smidgen of unblended greens and foam? $7.25! I would have gotten my money back in the store but there was a long line and I was in a hurry. Don't get me wrong, these are probably the best quality smoothies in Austin. But some of the ingredients in the smoothies can be misleading. For example, I was told by a server today that if a smoothie features Whey protein, the amount added to the drink is only 1 tablespoon. Which is the equivalent of about 1/3 serving, or only about 8 grams of protein. An average serving of Whey powder is 20 to 30 grams. When blended into a smoothie, and considering the amount lost from the drinking sticking to the bottom and sides of the blender, one could assume that the tablespoon of powder is virtually diluted to nothing. read more

Juice is a tricky thing, either you like it or you don't. Everyone does not have a juice pallet. I do but my GF sure does not. So that means I had to drink hers and mine, good juice will not go to waste! I like the service there, they are helpful and polite. If it is your first time there they really talk with you to help pick the right drink for you. The rewards program is pretty good though. Its next to Sweet Rituals Vegan Ice-cream so that makes it even better because I can go to both and get my snack on! So vegan and vegetarians have a great variety in this little shopThe variety is good too and if you don't like the made menu options you can make your own. My rating would be higher if not for how management handled our order. In fact, the juices are typically great. The cashier had the attitude of someone who was having the worst day of his life, but I tipped him anyway because I've worked in the food industry and I know how it goes. No thanks for the tip. My girlfriend and I get our juices and begin drinking. By the first few sips, she started pulling several pieces from her mouth of an elastic plastic that had been blended. We study it and even look at the menu to see if we are wrong and maybe mistaking an ingredient. It was, WITHOUT A DOUBT, some sort of elastic plastic or lining (not edible). I can't emphasize how obvious it was. So I bring the juice to the cashier and ask for a new one and to speak to the manager to find out what she has been ingesting. It is worth noting that I was polite and not loud, beligerante, etc. and I am not *that guy* trying to stir up or get free things - I simply wanted what I payed for. The cashier walks to the manager, rolls his eyes and throws the juice in the trash before ever removing the lid. The manager proceeds to bring us the new drink saying that she fully inspected the juice we brought up and saw nothing wrong (like I said, the lid was never opened and it was thrown away immediately, so she lied). I show her the plastic pieces we collected from the drink and she begins explaining that they are fibers/pulp from the limes. I point out to her that she can stretch and puncture the pieces, but not pull it apart, nor rip it, and that it is non organic. It could be stretched to twice it's length and return to normal size. She tried and tried to pull it apart several times before digging through it with her fingernails to separate the plastic. Even though her struggle was obvious, she stuck with the idea that is was lime pulp. It wasn't worth the trouble for us to continue debating that there was, in fact, plastic in the drink so we just left. Once my girlfriend begins drinking the new drink, it was quickly confirmed that it WAS plastic and the lime pulps present in the new drink had no qualities similar to the plastic bits of the previous drink (taste, texture, FOOD) except the way they looked. The experience wouldn't have been so bad if she wouldn't have lied to us and discredited our concern about ingesting plastics from an organic smoothie shop. It was a poor management tactic and it was likely chosen by her because we were in audible range of the cashier line. read more
