The spot remains throughfully decorated, feminine with gold accents, marble tones, pink, and a mixture of real and faux plants. The menu makes ordering easy, and everything from breakfast, to brunch, to lunch options are offered. From naan grilled cheese to poke bowls, it's nice to see various cultural influencers represented through their food. This visit, I grabbed a Pink Dragon smoothie (with dragonfruit, mango, and coconut milk), and a sweet chili Thai bowl (which was giving strong poke bowl vibes). The smoothie was smooth, filling, and not too sweet. The Thai bowl was made fresh and I immediately noticed the quality of the ingredients. This is something I could see myself eating for lunch multiple days a week. I guess at the end of the visit, I was wondering, what is value and price of good, fresh food. My bill for the two items above was just under $29. I'm personally a bit split on the pricing of certain items (a $19 lox bagel is not for me, but a $6 smoothie and $10 loaded acai bowl sounds like a deal to me)! Why 5 stars? Because this is my new go-to for healthy eating. --- --- --- I have had Juicepop bookmarked for a while, but I usually tend to favor places with incredibly unhealthy food when I'm eating out because I eat super healthy during the week at home. But while my wife was in Barcelona for a week, torturing me with dinner photos every night, I decided to cope by finally visiting a bunch of places nearby that I'd always wanted to check out. Juicepop was next on that list. I tried the Tex-Mex Salad, the Naan Grilled Cheese and the Pink Dragon Smoothie. All of it was great. And it resulted in a foreign feeling for me: I left a restaurant not in a state of comatose. I actually felt totally energized. As local celebrity, Brittany B points out, it's not cheap. But in the defense of the restaurant, this is some high-quality stuff that's clearly made with some TLC. And the people in here could not be more friendly, including a customer who was clearly a regular and told me how great everything is. I wanted to love this place SO BAD. It's so close to my house and I love the menu variety. However, today was my first time trying it and I got a smoothie on my way to work. I asked for a refund, but nothing has been given yet and they won't get back with me. Today was my first visit, and I will definitely be back. We (my boyfriend and I) walked in on a Sunday morning and the atmosphere was so cute! Very laid back, jungle, bohemian vibes. We went to the counter and Linh was so helpful! She explained her menu and gave us great recommendations. All her food, sauces, and juices are homemade with no added sugars. We got the Coffee Smoothie (delicious), Maui pressed juice, Avocado Toast with a fried egg, and the Banana Toast. Everything was so tasty and I can't wait to come back and try more smoothies! I'm most interested in trying the spring rolls on my next visit, which are hand-crafted by Linh. I wanted to like this place, as there aren't many places to blow you out of the water for north side casual dining that isn't a chain. The place is well decorated, but that's where the positive experience ended for us. The kitchen was quite slow (we were the only people waiting on food and it took ~30 minutes for a salad, sandwich, and spring rolls.) We looked forward to the spring rolls, but were disappointed - maybe we're a little bit spoiled here with so many great Vietnamese restaurants in the city, but they lacked the flavor I usually expect. The croque madame I had was just bad. Very dry - no bechamel that I could detect, so it ended up being plain cheese and deli ham. I don't claim to be a chef, but this was one of the worst sandwiches I can remember having. My wife had the mangova salad and was underwhelmed at the amount of protein she upgraded for. With a lemonade, this came to $46 for takeout and we struggled to justify the price for the food we got. I do hope they adjust. I really want to support local businesses and might give it another go in the future if there were changes. read more
