I love Juicewell, I have searched high and low but cannot find another place with an Acai bowl like this! The best part about this place is that they let you blend fruit into the base! Whether it's Acai or Pitaya! I usually get the Acai with strawberry and mango blended in and then top with berries, granola, coconut chips and cocoa nibs. You can do whatever your heart desires but remember it's not unlimited toppings (like most places)! Everything adds up, so add sparingly. Honestly this is my only grievance because some toppings are $1 extra. You could literally end up with a bowl that's $15+! Be careful, you've been warned! read more

Juicewell also serves fresh pressed juices in a number of different mixes. I saw one that I would try with orange, grapefruit, ginger and lime. It's called (Sweet & Sour). This is it! This is the place! When the juicing trend became mainstream in Houston ~4 years ago, I've always wondered how places rationalize their prices with drinks/foods. I've seen some juices priced at $5 - $6 and some higher ends start at $7. I've always wondered if we'll see $10 a drink, so I'm glad to share that ... I've found the spot that has crossed that boundary at $10 a drink! This is the spot with $10 freaking dollars for juice! I'm mildly preventing myself from yanking out my hair from the distress of seeing a whole bill of Hamilton's face for a cup of juice. I'm half expecting the proprietor of JuiceWell to comment back and rationalizing for their high prices with such things like " fruit is expensive, rent is high, can't put a price on health, competitive pricing" etc etc, yada yada. The juice is good, and I'm sure the acai bowls are wonderful and JuiceWell I am confident uses supreme product (They better for this pricing). Yes I'm sure this is all good and dandy. However I just can't justify $10 for juice. Maybe I have a bone to pick with the juicing trend/industry as a whole? Or maybe I'm just an angry guy that can't justify $10 for a drink. However, one thing is fact. I won't be coming back to JuiceWell anytime soon. I scoff every time I pass them up on Richmond. Either way, JuiceWell isn't for me. I developed an addiction to the pataya bowl but it's never consistent. One time the girl even gave me açaí after I specifically asked for pataya but by the time I realized it was too late, I had already left. I always passed by this place thinking that the only thing they sold was green smoothies, as their name suggests. One of my friends recommended their acai bowl to me, and I realized that I've never tried an acai bowl in my life! So I had to try it out. food: I got a blend of strawberry and banana and topped it with granola, raspberry, and strawberry and added light drizzle of agave. The bowl was perfect sweetness! Yummy and enjoyable but not overly sweet. The slightly frozen texture was refreshing and it was a yummy way to get some vitamins and antioxidants after workout. Howeverrrr I don't think it's that hard to make a blend of fruits taste good so I didn't think it was anything too special. The portions were filling and I was really satisfied after. decor: On their windows, they have sticky notes that customers doodled on and this is such a smart idea because one, it creates a blind from the bright sun but it doesn't completely block out the sun, and two, because it makes the place super cute and colorful inside :) The rest of the decor was clean and trendy, and the tables were pretty comfortable as well. Oh my goodness, the açaí bowls here are the best!! The consistency of the açaí base was what stood out to me the most. It was perfectly smooth and thick! I've had my fair share of açaí bowls that were clumpy and watery, but this was not one of them! At juicewell, you customize your own açaí bowls from the blend-ins to the added toppings by filling out a check-list form at the counter. The price starts off at $9, and there's additional charges for extra and premium toppings. It can get pretty pricy if you wanna get all fancy with your bowl, but it's well worth it in my opinion. I chose to blend in mango, banana, and almond milk to my base and added granola, strawberries, blueberries, and coconut chips with a drizzle of honey as my toppings! All the fruits were fresh and sweet, and the granola and coconut chips added a crunchy texture to contrast the smooth acai base. I also got to try my friend's Strawberry Sentimint smoothie and it was good as well! The mint flavor greatly overpowers the strawberry, but for a hot summer day, this smoothie was very refreshing and light. There is a complimentary parking structure but it's not visible from Richmond. To find the parking lot, pass JuiceWell, make your first right, and then make your first right again. You will then hit the parking structure on your right. It's a parking lot that JuiceWell shares with a bank and the other businesses that are next to it. It's a trendy little area and a nice place to relax or do some work/study. JuiceWell reminds me of your typical high-end juice or smoothie bar. When I think of smoothies, I want to spend $5-$6. You're going to spend a little more than that at JuiceWell. You're also going to get a smaller serving size. That's because of the ingredients they use (and likely the location). They also have make your own acai and pitaya bowls. A pretty cool spot but a tad bit expensive for my taste. Got a pitaya bowl for lunch here yesterday and I must say my experience here was much better than at it's relative in West University. I believe the person who helped me was named Dan -- he was very knowledgable about the superfood ingredients that I was not familiar with and made a beautiful bowl! What I had was very good (pitaya w/ almond milk, pineapple & mango, hemp protein, strawberries, bananas, coconut & extra granola). I had made this my juice spot, even when I had a poor reaction after my last bottle of "Recovery" I still returned, but what I will not ever accept is being disrespected. The issue on this visit was as stated, the person (young woman of Asian decent) that appeared to be in charge was having a conversation with her team. She looked at me as I entered, but did not speak to me or move from the spot near the blending room. After looking at me she turned back to continue the conversation as if I could just wait. In response to your inquiry about the poor reaction to the recovery juice, I and my family/friends were frequent customers and I would usually get the Recovery. No issues ever, but the last one that we had made us all hit the restroom within 25 minutes. We were not happy, but understood that things (contamination) will sometimes happen.
