    Medium vietnamese coffee with boba
    Perry F.

This place has been here for many years. I do remember back in the 2000's they had a much bigger menu and places to hang out with board games. The menu is now slimmed down, but still larger than most places. It looks like they are now using their main room for banquets. However, the drinks are still good and service is fast. I fo believe that the price is high, but this is true at almost any coffee/tea place. Overall, this spot has a good reputation for tasty, reliable, enjoyable drinks.

I used to come here a lot while in college to sit and study and drink boba. They used to have a very cool arowana fish I loved watching. And I loved that they had baby boba pearls. Sadly I've visited two diff teahouse locations while visiting Houston again. Both times the drinks are not good. I got the house milk tea with boba. The drink is very bland and the boba pearls are bland and rubbery. The taro coconut is tasty but very sweet. They've done away with the couches in the back area. Now it's tables only with a weird street looking wall in the middle of the room. Not sure what they're trying to go for but it doesn't work decor wise. It used to be so cozy and fun here... not anymore.

This location has pretty good parking for being very much in the center of the loop. Lots of tables inside for hanging out and studying. Popcorn chicken is always crispy, spicy, and has lots of basil. Their drinks are nothing special but they're pretty consistent at every location!

Visited on Sunday afternoon, it's packed with people, we waited for almost 20 minutes to get drinks. I had the Taiwanese pineapple with green tea, just a mediocre drink, there's only one tiny piece of pineapple chunk. This branch is huge with two shop lots linked together at the back of the shop

a popular place to chill, eat a snack and drink. recently remodeled space to accommodate more people. there are often students hanging out and studying in the back room. you can now order ahead through the app to reduce anytime waiting. we've been coming for years and we always enjoy a mango cream blend, some popcorn chicken and squid balls. the popcorn is tender, juicy and flavorful.

I have been coming to this location for many years and I love it. I felt nostalgic today because it had been a while and it reminded me of the times I will come here to study, then when I was looking for a job, and now just to relax and enjoy the tea. I like that they have added snack items to their menu. Love the crunchy spring rolls. My favorite tea is taro coconut milk tea with tapioca. Unlike other places, they can customize the sugar level which I really appreciate. In addition, the staff taking your order is super friendly and attentive. This will be forever my favorite Teahouse location.

Taro Cream Tea & Squid Balls

I came here with a hankering for boba and saw all the great reviews. Taro cream tea was delicious and refreshing and hit the spot dead on with my craving. Priced at about $6 bucks. I opted to give their squid balls a try as a drive home snack (you get a cup of 9 for $4 and change). They were hot and had that elastic chewy texture they are known for. Definitely plan to come back to give more of their fresh fruit options a whirl. The case of fruits was an awesome visual on arrival.

On my first visit, I quickly learned that there are two entrances to this place and each side of the cafe has a very different "vibe". On one side, it's very quiet and people were studying while the other side has people chatting and plying board games. I ordered a citrus camomile tea hot and my friend ordered a milk tea with mini boba. Both of us liked our drinks very much and enjoyed playing games while catching up. The prices were about average for a cafe/ coffee shop. The staff at the counter was friendly; however, they hadn't tried any of the items we asked about so they weren't much help when trying to decide what to order. I enjoyed my drink and the option to play games so I would visit again.

This Teahouse location had a lot of seating, perfect for student who want to get boba and study. The drinks themselves are very mid compared to other boba places but they definitely do their job of satisfying a milk tea craving. My friend got the taro cream blend with tapioca which was very refreshing. It is on the sweeter side but out of the two drinks we got I liked it the best. I got the Thai milk tea with egg pudding. The Thai tea wasn't very strong and that was evident by the light color. Personally I didn't like my drink too much, but the taro was good!

I parked in the joined parking lot and came in for a large lychee green tea that totaled just under $5. I washed my hands while I waited and when I came out it was done. The tea was delicious. The lychee flavor was potent but the tea was not too sweet. The tea was served hot but I was still able to drink it slowly. 10/10 do recommend.

There are numerous locations for The Teahouse, but I'm pretty certain this Montrose one is the most popular one of them all. As one of the city's most celebrated local chains, the brand in general does a really solid job of showcasing a nearly unmatched variety of teas and fruity blends. In terms of abundance, it screams Texas all the way. Before getting to the plethora of drinks, I think it's worth remarking on the plethora of space. This place is way bigger than it looks from the outside and the strip mall location doesn't really signify what kind of space this is. The front counter where all the ordering / action is, is always bustling with activity. There's the sound of the machines whirling in the background, music playing from TV, and people lining up left and right. There's a good bit of seating in the main room, which is pretty ideal for small'ish groups and a bit of people watching. Walk a few steps past the kitchen and the lounge is the real deal. There are couches, sectioned off spaces, and plenty of room for groups to mingle or for a private study session. The WiFi is good and the ventilation is great. As far as the drinks go, I'd be hard pressed to think of something they *don't* offer. There's a dedicated section of green teas, fruit teas, black teas, and even a number of oolong specialties. Then there's actual coffee, blends / smoothies, and even cream tea. They have a fresh heaping of fruits displayed every day and I think that's where their strength lies. Honey dew is one of my favorite flavors and they do it well here. They infuse fruits with the teas and I think passion fruit with black or green tea is also an easy choice. If I'm feeling indulgent, I'll go with a fruity cream blend, such as taro, peach, or mango. The prices are standard but my biggest beef is the service. I've had drinks that were poorly made (lid not sealed, too much ice, etc.) previously and sometimes they're so understaffed the wait can be a little long. As a result, I try to stop by when it's during their non-peak hours and usually the experience is pretty good. I'm still constantly filling up my loyalty card and hoping to score my free drink soon.

Time to Order: Varies - the Taro Milk Tea came out very quickly (few minutes) but the honey lavender tea drink took longer (I watched them brew it fresh). I ordered a Taro Milk Tea at 25% sweetness with tapioca. Hit the spot, good taro flavor, and the tapioca texture was great. I would say by personal preference that it was a tad starchy and I don't like crushed ice as much because it starts getting sucked up with the boba, but it was still a good milk tea at very reasonable price. I tried my partner's honey lavender tea (beautifully presented) at 25% sweetness and it also, surprisingly, wasn't sweet for a honey drink! The lavender is real, not a syrup, and the only sweetness comes from the honey. I'd definitely come back for their lunch deal ($10 for a banh mi, milk tea, and chips). It's awesome that they're an option in the area for so many kids oriented activities.

Taro Milk Tea (25% Sweetness) - Love the mellow, non-artificial flavors here. My BF wasn't a huge fan because the taro lacked a depth he couldn't really define, but I personally enjoyed the drink's gentle starchiness. Honey Lavender Tea (25% Sweetness) - Exceptional drink color! My BF was surprised that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, and it was exactly the sweetness level I prefer. The lavender hit was sooo good--much better than any Starbucks refresher I've had. Heard they used genuine lavender seeds for this drink! My BF actually saw the worker press the lavender. Easily one of the most pleasant lavender flavors I've had. Peachy Peach Tea - Loved this. It was regular sweetness, but it wasn't diabetes-inducing, so I felt blessed. The peach syrup was much stronger than the first two drinks, so I assumed the sweetness was already integrated into the syrup. Overall, their drink flavor profiles have been on point. Splitting hairs here, but my BF didn't like the crushed ice because it traveled up the straw with the drink, while I personally liked it for that exact reason. Hazelnut-filled Croissant - They heated it for me like Starbucks! Shared it with my Yelp friend Paul because my BF has a nut allergy. I enjoyed the flavor, though the texture was a little stiff from sitting out. The design is genuinely so cute, and the filling is clearly some form of Nutella. I'd never had a croissant in this style before, so it was a fun try. But it's SO SWEET!
