The first 4 times I came, I didn't like any of my drinks. Fresh taro milk tea was not as flavorful as other stores and tasted quite bland, and the boba during their soft opening was quite hard. The fresh milk tea (made with milk instead of the typical non-dairy creamer) was very off--imagine mixing milk into watery tea. I was about to give up on them, until lo and behold, I gave them one last try: 50% sweetness, less ice, black milk tea with boba. It was absolutely lovely. The oolong is amazing too, more mild and light than the black tea. Green tea feels just in between. Great space to study too, and bathrooms are clean and well-kept. read more

ShareTea has been my tried and true spot whenever I need to whip out my laptop and get work done near Rice Village. It doesn't serve anything mind-blowing in terms of milk tea, but it compensates with an aesthetically pleasing interior and spacious seating. Each table has a wall outlet nearby. Noise levels usually feel light despite customers occupying most tables (if not all). I usually order either their classic, honey, or taro milk tea. 50% sugar tastes quite bland for me even though I usually prefer my milk tea only lightly sweetened. The boba texture feels just a tad tough which I personally liked. With fair prices and only light competition nearby, their drinks get the job done adequately. read more

Came here to try a boba shop that's close-ish to the med center area. From what I could tell, it was a pretty quiet, chill spot (at least at night). It's small but seems like a potential spot to work and study if you want to switch it up from coffee shops. I got the new matcha drink with sakura blossom crystal boba. It was mid, not great not bad, a pretty palatable boba drink. They have a pretty large menu though so I'm sure I'll find something else (I've liked their fresh taro milk and ginger milk tea at other locations). read more

I've tried a lot of boba shops around Houston and other cities and for whatever reason this one fell flat for me. I tried the mango passionfruit tea with aloe vera (one of their top 10 orders). The sweetness at 50% was great and overall it was refreshing. However, the flavor seemed kind of artificial to me and lacking in depth of fresh passionfruit or mango I've experienced at other local shops (and even some chains). There wasn't a lot of aloe in my drink either, which I chalked up to me visiting before they closed (maybe they ran out). It wasn't a bad experience but I've had better. On the plus side, the dining area was super clean and there seemed to be plenty of seating to study or hang with friends. Also note that there is free parking on the sharetea side of the plaza, but the other side requires you to pay via an app. I'll give them another try soon. read more

I was so excited when I saw that SharedTea was opening within walking distance of home.. but also realized how dangerous this would be to have so many boba options within reach. This place easily became my go-to boba place, compared to the other two options in rice village. They are always quick and consistent, which the other places lack IMO. The place is always clean, plenty of tables if you want to sit and chill, friendly staff who gets your drinks to you asap. No complaints here. The menu is extensive and you are able to customize your sweetness and ice levels as you see fit. Lots of options for toppings, if you're a toppings lover like me! The drinks here taste expectedly like any other Sharetea boba locations. It is in a pretty busy area, so I would expect there to usually be a bit of a wait when coming. The long-awaited Rice Village Sharetea is finally open and delivers on a clean aesthetic and competitive offerings for this otherwise boba-deserted part of town. I've been here three times already, and had the mango green tea at 30% sugar, a 30% oolong milk tea w/ herbal jelly, and a 30% green milk tea w/ herbal jelly. For this chain known for having sweeter milk teas, I recommend picking a green/oolong tea and getting pudding/jelly for toppings so that the tea can shine through a bit rather than tons of sugar. Would not recommend the mango green tea, the sweet syrup drowns most other flavors out. Prices are par for the area. Shortcomings include a current lack of rewards system that every other competitor has. Also, there are no (or, phenomenally well-hidden) outlets along the pictured bench area--a turn-off for an otherwise great study spot near a university. Last, as pictured, I asked for "Less Ice" and got half of my drink as ice. Once I get over my PTSD, I might order normal ice next time for an unblended slushee... TLDR; this is a cute study spot with the best boba in a couple mile radius. Beware the ice. read more

Oh, my love/hate relationship with this Sharetea location. This store is located in Rice Village. I received the wrong order. It ordered as classic black tea with mixed pearls, but what received was classic milk (black) tea via a food delivery service. This is the second time that this has happened. The first time was sometime during the Summer as a walk-in customer. Granted that ambiance was loud due to other customers, but I thought I said my order as clearly as possible. I guess that didn't worked. As for the drinks (present and past), they're very good. The boba doesn't taste like it's been burnt which I have had at other boba shops. The sweetness of the drink can be controlled by having it to be no sugar at all. For me, though, I like mine to 50%. Anyway, this won't stop me from patronizing this location when I'm in the area. I typically order around 75% at other boba shops but even 30% at Sharetea is too sweet and my friends subsequently ordered 0% after tasting the 30%. The tapioca bubbles are chalky inside and not the expected "QQ" consistency. This location gets a few stars because the new space is light and airy with lots of table space for hanging out. There aren't many outlets though, which I would expect for Rice Village for people to sit and do work. The service is also quick. An easy fix - there is only one trash can (by the drink pickup), so there is awkward flow when trying to leave to go backwards past the line to throw away the cup. They should place an additional trash can by the door for easier traffic. Overall, while the grand opening BOGO was a good deal, the regular price and mediocre taste aren't enough to bring me back. read more

Rice Village gains a third boba shop, just as average as the others. I adore ginger in everything, and was excited to see a ginger drink! After they forgot to make my order (but promptly made when I walked up to the worker who wasn't doing anything), I was disappointed by how mild the ginger flavor was. My partner's Honey Green Milk tea was also not very flavorful, and neither were as sweet as expected (at 100%). Good quality tea, definitely not over brewed like boba tends to be. For the price, you get a higher quality tea with lower quality flavors. The decorations are sleek and minimalist, and the music was a very good playlist. I was hesitant to put in my ear buds. The large windows and plentiful seating make it a perfect study space for mornings and afternoons. Not my favorite, but I will be adding ShareTea to my boba rotation. read more

This is probably the worst Sharetea experience I ever had with this location. We have gone to this Sharetea at Rice Village location since its grand opening and has always been very satisfied with their services until today. Today, I brought my daughter to get a two drinks. My daughter walked in around 8:50pm, and ordered one drink, then was told in an attitude that "We don't take cash right now". My daughter came back telling me about the cashiers attitude and I decided to go in to order with her. When it was our turn to order, the cashier couldn't wait until my daughter had a chance to order and told her "You have one minute left". My daughter became scared and had to pick a drink that she could not put too much thought into. I understand we came right when the store closed, but the customer service was still very unacceptable. While we were waiting for the drink, she started spraying in front of us and made noises with all the containers. When we picked up our drink, I noticed that my boba was missing. I kindly reminded her and she immediately turned all the blame over to me, stating I never made her aware of it. I do not like arguing too much in general, so she told me she already dumped all the boba for the day and we are welcome to stop by Teahouse to get more boba if we like. I started thinking what kind of the people could be hired for a customer oriented business. All I saw, was someone who was incredibly impatient, rude, arrogant and irritable. I asked for the girl's name and was told no, because she thinks I will file a complain to her behavior. She refused to let me know her name and used cursing language multiple times in front of my pre-teen daughter. This is not acceptable and we are very disappointed that Sharetea will hire staff with this attitude. We order at this location at least once each week and never had such experience. If I could rate this store zero stars, I would. read more
