Not as bustling as some other dessert spots in the area but will be a new go-to for me. Shared a medium shaved ice among 3-4 people and it was perfect and very affordable ($16 for medium). Shaved ice has an ice base (not milk) but it suited the fruits and condensed milk so well. Every bite was very refreshing with the fruits. Flan is on the denser side and not too sweet at all. Pretty quick service, pick up and buss your trays vibe. Definitely want to come back to try some of their other menu items too!

Juicy box is DELICIOUS!!! And if you don't like it get some taste. Haha I had been a few years back and had totally forgotten about it (idk how). But then I saw their videos resurface all over TikTok. So I went and it altered my brain chemistry all over again hehe. So amazing but man the line was stressful. Y'all gotta stop crowding these places hehe but I'm happy they're getting the recognition they deserve. I went and got the mixed fruit shaved ice. It's a bit pricey but delicious. It's 17$ for one bowl but comes with shaved ice, mixed fruit and topped with strawberry ice cream, coconut pudding, flan and drizzled in condensed milk. Delicious! The shaved ice is creamy - melts in your mouth. It's absolutely perfect. Also the ice has taste. I saw another review where they said it's just bland ice. Umm no it's not? It's literally shaved ice mixed in with condensed milk? Some people have no tastebuds lol. You order at a kiosk and they call your number when ready. Pretty fast service. The inside is sort of tight and narrow but when it's not packed you can manage to get a table. I would highly recommend. It's so good!!!

I've always loved Juicy Box, it's my go-to spot for shaved ice after a savory meal. The mango shaved ice is my favorite: always sweet and perfectly ripe, even when it's not mango season. The combo of shaved ice, condensed milk, fresh mangoes, strawberries, and ice cream is unbeatable. 10/10. Since it was cold out today, I tried the ginger tofu dessert for the first time. I usually add honey or sugar when I get tofu dessert elsewhere, but this one didn't need anything extra. Perfectly balanced and so comforting. 10/10.

I love the shaved ice here ! Comes with plenty of fruit, delicious strawberry ice cream, and tasty flan. The ice is smothered in condensed milk too. It's all just divine. I added mochi to this one as an add on per a friends request. I was able to share this bowl with 3 other friends. You order at the cashier, and they will call out your number when your order is ready. Really low key chill place. I've been here multiple times and always enjoy my dessert

I checked this place out for the first time today, and the menu variety is honestly impressive. They have everything from traditional shaved ice and fresh fruit smoothies to sago and hot desserts. I ended up getting the mango sago drink. The fruit was actually fresh and ripe, which isn't always the case at these types of spots. I also got the hot almond soup with mochi balls (sesame inside). The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the state of the dining area. Even though it wasn't super packed when I went, almost every available table was dirty/sticky. I had to go find some napkins and wipe down my own spot just to sit comfortably

We ordered the mixed fruit shaved ice with flan to share among 4 people, and it was more than enough to satisfy everyone. Each of us also happened to prefer a different fruit topping, which made the sharing more harmonious. The shaved ice has a traditional ice base, so every bite was incredibly refreshing without feeling heavy. Cheap, no-frills vibe. Will definitely be back!

Kept seeing ads abt the mango sago at juice box online and finally caved in. They require you to pay a minimum amount if you want to pay by card on the kiosk. The wait was not long at all. The mango sago is basically a really heavy mango smoothie with coconut and sago in it. I was not really a fan of the mango. It tasted too dense and heavy and did not really match up with the sago. I think if you want a mango coconut smoothie you're better off just going to heytea. Their mango drink is actually cheaper too... It seems that the shaved ice is the move if you ever come here

visited houston for the first time and i definitely wanted to try this taiwanese owned dessert staple in chinatown!! we ordered their mixed fruit with strawberry ice cream and flan and switched out the watermelon for mango. pretty much everything here is customizable and they have a lot of different menu options, it's not just a shaved ice place. there's a pretty decent amount of seating, but i can see it being hard to find one if it's busy because it's still kind of a small space. everything was very clean though. all of the fruits tasted very fresh and the ice cream was sooooo good. great quality, it's not the cheap artificial strawberry. the condensed milk is a good addition as well. it. makes sense why they're always busy. if i lived here i would go here so often!!!

I've been a loyal patron of Juicy Box for years, and their desserts never disappoint! The store is ran by a lovely couple who are super friendly. The flan is always smooth, rich, and silky, just absolutely perfect every time in convenient individual cups. I also love their black sesame soup with tofu, and when I'm in the mood, I add lotus seeds for an extra touch. Their smoothies are refreshing, with the blueberry strawberry slushy being a personal favorite! Just the right balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. Their hot mochi with peanut and black sesame seeds is also good. They are soft, qq, and made to order just like all their other desserts. I do miss their milk tea-flavored shaved ice, but this remains my go-to spot for delicious desserts!

This dessert store had lots of familiar and new flavors. We ordered and paid for the caramel ice jelly with fruits, but then told it ran out. So then we ordered the herb jelly coconut milk sago as a replacement but they didn't refund the extra cost we paid. We also ordered the durian coconut milk sage with durian ice cream. I'm glad I was able to fine a dessert store that has durian ice cream made with real durian. Since it wasn't in season, the small pieces of durian in the ice cream wasn't as sweet. However overall, but the desserts were a good sweetness.

With the small, the flan is separate. Whenever I made room, I was able to add the flan in. It's so good!

I saw a video on Instagram and decided to try this place out. Upon arriving, the parking situation was a little tricky. I waited awhile before going in. I didn't see anyone going inside so I questioned if it was open. Lately, Google establishments been having incorrect store hours so I wasn't sure if it was actually open. I called and a friendly lady answered the phone, she answered all questions I had about the pricing. Once I saw someone go in and come out, I knew they were open. I was greeted with smiling faces which made me feel welcome. These ladies were very nice! I went around 1pm, despite multiple cars in the parking lot. There was hardly anyone on the inside which made it a better experience for me. I really enjoyed the Taiwanese dessert. I got the small over the medium, even though the small looked bigger than the medium (I'll check the dimensions next time I return). The flan was light, not overly sweet, and tasty. I got 1 scoop of mango ice cream with 1 fruit watermelon. I absolutely loved how the coldness made the watermelon like a icey consistency. The condense milk was a nice balance of shaved ice and sweetness. I definitely will be returning as I want to enjoy the medium over the small, the mango slushy, and smoothie. I remember coming to Nu Ice years ago for Lou UYE, but I don't remember Juicy Box being by Nu Ice. This is a nice and cool place to unwind and relax.

Juice Box will forever be our shaved ice of choice. For as long as we can remember, they've been a staple in the Houston Chinatown area and while their menu has gone through some changes over the years, their shaved ice continues to be their best dessert offering by far. What's always puzzled us is that there really isn't anything complex or complicated whatsoever with these ice bowls. But for whatever reason, their shaved ice just hits on a totally different level. Our go to order every time is the watermelon & mango shaved ice with vanilla ice cream on top. Literal perfection. Please never change Juice Box. Never change. read more

If you're looking to cool down from that Texas heat this is the place. It's a small joint in a crowded parking lot with many smaller restaurants around. But this hidden gem is really good. It's shaved ice topped with your choice of 3 or 5 fruits (depends on what size you get) then topped with a scoop of Ice cream (different flavors cost more then others) then condensed milk drizzled to finish it off. Juice Box is the best shaved ice place I've ever tried. I'd like to believe that's high praise, considering the fierce competition between Asian businesses at Bellaire. Every time I pay a visit to Houston, I make sure to come here for dessert. Be prepared because Juice box is usually really noisy. I have tried the other desserts offered here, but I always go back to the classic shaved ice in the end. The fruits they offer as toppings are always fresh, and they taste even better when doused with condensed milk. Which Juice box pours plenty of. Fascinatingly enough, Juice Box even offers some uncommon fruits like the notorious durians. But I do have a complaint with the methods the workers used in one instance. Instead of turning a customer away, the workers just ignored the situation and their inaction caused the customers to be uncomfortable and leave earlier than anticipated. A middle-aged couple were arguing and making a fuss at one of the corners of the store, but their arguing somehow devolved into carnal activities noisily under the table. The workers decided to turn the other cheek instead of asking them to leave or calling authorities for improper behavior at a public place. Meanwhile the customers throughout the store turned their heads to look at the couple in disgust, and the customers began filtering to the outside from the discomfort. The event just really shows that Juice Box is not the most capable at prioritizing the satisfaction of the majority of their customers because they are afraid of incurring the wrath of a minority. read more

Located in a plaza with lots of other food options, ranging from milk tea/boba cafe to restaurants to a supermarket. Not crowded for a Sunday night. Parking is free. Only 1 other customer aside from my family of 4, so we were attended to fast. The kids each got a scoop of ice cream while my husband and I shared the mochi shaved ice. The mochi is peanut and black sesame mochi (pretty much the filling for a Chinese glutinous rice ball on the outside). The kids finished their ice cream before our shaved ice order was ready. This was because the mochi was made to order and it's not. It's interesting to put the hot mochi on top of the shaved ice, I didn't appreciate the shaved ice melting before we can get to it but it was quite interesting and refreshing yet warming to get a bit of hot and cold. The menu is overwhelming, so many choices of hot and cold dessert. The place is clean, bathroom was clean. read more

Please don't get the tofu dessert here with the peanut topping. It isn't smooth and after the initial hotness wore off the tofu was progressively sour tasting which is a sign of bad tofu. Their take is more of a taiwanese approach to usual "tofu fa". It is quite possible their shave ice is better or their juice drinks with boba. But so meh for me. read more

When Juice Box first opened up, it was $5 for a bowl of shaved ice. It went up to $6. And the last time I went, it was $7. I used to go to Juice Box all the time to get my sweet fix. I always ask for Mango, Strawberry, and Pineapple on top of my shaved ice and I always ask for extra condensed milk on my ice. When it was $5, I was fine with it. When it was $6, it was bordering expensive. Now at $7, I'd rather go to a Marble Slab or a Coldstone to get my sweet fix. I'd still come here but only when my family comes from out of town and they want to go to Juice Box. read more

I went to juice box after it was recommended to me by a friend. It was a little overwhelming when I first entered the store because of how many different flavors of ice cream, shaved ice and fruit that they had and the cashier didn't do a great job of explaining which flavors were available for the ice cream vs. shaved ice. But in the end I opted for a small shaved ice with kiwi fruit and condensed milk with strawberry ice cream on top and it was delicious and refreshing. They have larger sizes which allow you to have multiple types of fruit and ice cream flavors but the plate was bigger than my face so I'll have to try that next time when I'm hungrier! read more

I love this place. I love their shaved ice. I heard it's better in TW, but this is not TW nor have I've ever been to TW. So this is really good for me compared to other shaved ice places I went to in Dallas and Houston. My favorite item is the shaved ice with strawberries, watermelon, honeydew, and mango topped with either strawberry or vanilla ice cream. I like how the shaved ice is fill with ton of condensed milk (so you don't have to ask for extra), and that's the secret to why it's so delicious. Too bad they have very limited ice cream options. Only the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry are available. I think it would be great if they add more ice cream flavors to the menu, such as green tea ice cream. I love coming here every time I'm in town. read more

Juice box is always at the top of my list of places to go whenever I visit Houston. My favorite item to get is the strawberry and mango shaved ice. It's simple but it hits the spot at satisfying your sweet tooth and cooling you down on a HOT summer day! The menu is quite large so you can get any item you want depending on what mood you're in. Not only do they have ice cream but they also have some childhood favorite hot Chinese desserts! So if the pictures of their menu items outside of the store front don't convince you enough, I hope this review does :) read more

I've been here once and since then I sincerely regret only being able to come to houston once or twice a year. Fruit is fresh, ice is shaved super thin, condensed milk is drizzled over the top and a large scoop of ice cream to top it all off. my favorite is the watermelon with the mango! It's a lot of dessert for $5 and can easily be shared between 4 people. This place can get really crowded and really loud but I guess that's to be expected with the popularity that this establishment gets. read more

Juice box always been my to go place for shaved iced. Their numerous of delicious choices of desserts are endless. Today, I came in to order some shaved iced to go. I specifically ordered strawberries and Watermelon with double scoop of ice cream like how I would like my order to be. I have OAS (also known as pollen-food syndrome) is an allergic reaction to certain proteins in a variety of fruits, vegetables and nuts. The symptoms include itching and burning of the lips, mouth and throat. ... Fortunately, OAS is rarely severe. So I am limited to certain things I can consume. So I got my order, drove home and surprise! There's mangos inside of my shaved ice with the strawberries I ordered. What happen to my watermelon? I wouldn't even mind if they forgot to put watermelon but instead the mixed it with something I can't eat. I ended up having to toss it out. Just very disappointed that I placed an order for something specifically because of my condition and didn't receive what I asked. People have different health needs and I hope more people take it seriously. read more

Who doesn't like fresh, ripe delicious fruit on top of a pile of shaved ice covered in condensed milk? VERY DELICIOUS! I was very lucky when I invited a few of my girlfriends to meet up with me while I was in H Town because it wasn't crowded. It usually is very crowded and muggy, but it wasn't at all that day. I really like coming here to meet up with groups of people because you don't feel the pressure of leaving. We sat in here for a few hours just catching up and there were still plenty of seats available! $7 for bowl of shaved ice with two fruit toppings isn't too bad of a deal when you share with friends, so definitely a place that I would recommend to friends or to tourists! Make sure to bring CASH if you are planning on spending less than 10 dollars! :) read more

Alright this store specialized in Taiwanese dessert. You kind of understand the meaning of that, that means you kind of grow up or live in Taiwan to completely understand and enjoy their specialized dessert. For example I go there just for their sweet peanut soup. Now most people think that is a cold dessert, but it is hot. One of the best in Houston by the way. The peanut is perfectly cook and the sweetness of the soup is just right. AWESOME !!! Being craving this for a while now. Yes they have your shaved ice and tapioca mango and strawberry smoothies, but it is the specialized dessert make them stand out. Oh the owner and employee are really cool. During my visit two handicap people come in the store and got one scoop of ice cream each. (handicap and in the wheel chair). They were digging for changes and looked like they were struggling to pay, out of no where the cashier said don't worry about it and took care of the bill. That is worth million stars in my book. The human compassion is what makes food full in human spirit, you do not see that very often any more in the service industry. Thank you juice box for bring that back. The wait was long but to be expected on a Saturday night. The only disappointment was that they were out of tapioca when we went. But I got the black sugar taro shaved ice. I added sweet potato, flan, ice cream, and taro balls as toppings. Ended up being $14 almost but definitely a shareable amount. Everything was delicious. So many combinations of topping possible here. My rating might be inflated because I've never been to a shaved ice place with so many options. Not sure how this place compares to meetfresh but I think I prefer this over snowy village because of the variety. I'll be back and they better have tapioca next time I go! Definitely recommended for dessert lovers that value variety. read more

Every time I come here they jack up the price by .50 cents. The FRUIT GREEN TEA is now $5.50. I remember when it was about $4. It's not like they give more fruits or tea, quite the opposite actually. They've become so stingy it's irritating. Even though I love their fruit green tea with the mixture of orange juice and fresh fruits. I just can't justify them raising their prices so absurdly. I won't be coming back that's for sure. Check yourself juice box! This plaza is filled with juice shops. I'll see my business elsewhere. read more

Definitely not a kind of dessert that you would eat after a full entrée... I didn't know that so I ordered a hugeeee bowl of this + a smoothie. I was so sooo full that I couldn't even drink a bit from my smoothie regardless of the generous portion, it tastes AMAZING!! The fruits are very fresh. I seriously would comeback and eat here everyday if I could. I saw a review said that the mango milk shaved is only $2.50, but it goes up to $4.25 now :/ the only thing I would complain is the smoothie is a little bit over priced. read more

This is a nice place for dessert. The menu has got everything you can think of. They divide the menu by the name of the fruit. They also have some warm dessert too. The smoothie here has durian as an option and they put real durian in there. You can taste the piece of durian in there, super good. read more

So I finally got to tryout Juice Box for myself The family had been here a few times and I keep hearing about it from them and here on yelp so today we came down to Bellaire for dinner hoping that this new restaurant will be open but they're not open yet we had settled Lucky Korean restaurant restaurant that was kind of a mistake but AnyWho at least I was in the mood for something good afterwords I said let's try Juice Box and of course the kids were happy about that. I think for what it was it was a little bit overpriced but if it's only on occasion what the heck you only live once right. read more

Juice box is such a unique place to try when visiting China Town because it is different from any other ice cream or dessert place. My dad said these were the types of desserts he used to have when he was younger. They have so many options to choose from it can be a bit overwhelming. We decided to go with the "classic" I assume which is ice, condensed milk, ice cream, and fruit of your choice. The large comes with 4 types of fruit while the smaller sizes come with 2 or 3. The original tasted amazing and I can't wait to go back and try it again. The milk chocolate with banana was good, but it was kind of weird. The chocolate and ice didn't really work well together in my opinion, but it was still pretty good. This place can get really crowded and you may feel a bit claustrophobic, but it is a great place to come with your friends. This is one of my favorite places to get shaved ice from in Chinatown. The fruit flavored shaved ice always taste fresh and non-artificial. The fruits on top of the ice is usually sweet and refreshing. I ordered the Durian shaved ice and this was the first place that the durian shaved ice did not taste artificial at all. Stopped by Juice Box last night for some shaved ice deaserts after our dinner! Definitely did not regret adding so many calories so late at night... The staff was very efficient in taking orders! The two items that I ordered came out perfectly done as well. I had the Mango Strawbery Watermelon shave ice, and it was absolutely delicious! The condensed milk topping added some creamy flavor to the sweet fruits, and the cold ice was just perfect for the hot steamy Houston summer night. The other item I think Juice Box made best (much better than regular Boba tea store) is the Mixef Fruit Orange Juice tea! I ordered it togo last night and had it before work today. I've been to this place 3 or 4 times now and I do strongly feel that this place deserves a lot of praise. Firstly because the food tastes amazing and almost everything I've tried is a winner. The mixed fruit shaved ice is one of my favorites. Secondly because the service is usually pretty fast. Lastly the prices are fairer footer the product considering there aren't a lot of Taiwanese desert places around that serve quality. Next level shaved ice! It's H O T in Houston...like ALL the time. This is the perfect place to cool down. There are plenty of tables, but this place can get pretty packed. They have other items on the menu like smoothies and juices too. If you want something on the go, try their Fruit Tea! In the winter, they have hot desserts available. My favorite during that time is the sesame 'soup' which has these mochi sesame balls inside. SO good! Anyways, back to this amazing shaved ice and all it's glory! My family comes here all the time after eating a big lunch somewhere in the plaza. And I don't complain! I love this place. They have soo many options to choose from, super fresh fruits, and lots of seating. The mixture of the condensed milk with the shaved ice and assortment of fruit is sooo satisfying. My only complaints are that it's a bit overpriced and the employees are kinda rude. Oh boy, I sure do love Taiwanese style shaved ice! When I found out about this little gem right near where my colleagues and I were having dinner, I told them it was a must! I typically like the traditional red bean topping, but opted for some fresh fruit instead. Mango, strawberries, condensed milk, and a scoop of coconut ice cream all nestled upon a bowl of finely shaved ice. YUM! I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have toppings such as mochi or boba (tapioca balls), but I guess I'll let that slide. I ended up trying the oyster pancake and the leek, pork intestine, and blood claypot. Both were great and really hit the spot for me (pro tip, their chili oil is great and adds another great layer of flavor). The oyster pancake had quite a bit of oysters and they were nice and plump. For those willing to try offal meats, the pork intestine and pork blood was amazing, flavors exactly what I wanted and cooked very well, nothing was chewy or over/undercooked. Prices and portions were also great and I was able to have my meal for 3 different days, and the third day I just overate. Overall, I'm glad to have found this spot and recommend it for anyone wanting Taiwanese food or to try something different. They have a lot of options and a really great deal for the more buffet/cafeteria style plates. Def can't wait to come back and get some more food!

Can't believe I haven't wrote a review for this place yet. I have been coming to this place for the passing ten years probably when they first open. The service is always very good and fast. Juice is super fresh, my favorite of course is their shaved ice. In the recent years they brought in Something new cotton shaved iced. They are flavored, you can pick any certain Flavor single or mixed. You can top it off with up to 3 different kind of fruits. They have the best cantaloupe, it's always sweet regardless if it's in season and they make it perfect size like golf balls. Some of my friends don't like it too sweet so sometimes we would ask them to put the condensed milk on the side then you can add it to your liking. They have about 10 different kind of hot desert in winter. My favorite is the sweet sesame with sticky sesame balls. The sesame cooked to its perfect texture and it's healthy for women. Most of the hot desert are good for health especially for women. If you are on your special days you should definitely try their red bean with mochi balls. I don't think they ever failed me many many times that I have been here. Highly recommended for summer and winter for desert!!! read more

This juice and boaba place has been in business more than 4 years by now, but there are not much changes in their menu. One of their best sellers, mango shaved ice, is getting worse sometimes. It could be the mango, a seasonal fruit, which make the owner very hard to control the quality. They also need to remodel and spend some money on their interior design, tables and chairs now. read more

Juice Box has been my favorite spot for desserts in Bellaire! It's a family-owned business,and the owners are super sweet. The desserts they offer are so yummy! My favorite to get is the mixed fruit with shaved ice,and it comes with a scoop of ice cream! I went here at least once every two weeks lol..so HIGHLY recommend! read more

This place is wonderful! The price for how much you get is great. It's about 5 dollars. The mango shaved ice is my favorite to order, and the whole dish isn't too sweet. the mango is cut fresh, and the ice is not crunchy, but like snow. The only thing i would have to comment about is that it's cash only. read more

Forget snowballs and slushies, this is a new crush on ice. So many options to choose from, sweet to savory, there's one you will love to not only taste, but to enjoy in the new approach to ice! The ice isn't like cubes of ice, but shaved so thin that you wouldn't even realize it was ice. read more
