I forgot to take photos of the menus, but they have a wide selection of teas, coffees, fruity drinks, toppings, and desserts. There is only one size option for the drinks, and like other boba places, you can customize the amount of ice or sugar you want for your drink. My favorite is the Creme Brulee Dirty Boba. I always get it with less ice and less sugar. Although Feng Cha isn't my go-to choice for boba, the drinks are always consistent in terms of flavors, so it's definitely worth a try if you've never been here before. read more

While roaming the Dun Huang Plaza for a study spot, I decided to stop by here. It gets pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon/evening but a booth opened up in less than 5 minutes. The seats felt comfortable and spacious for the two hours I sat down. Lighting is a little dim, especially with daylight savings in full effect this winter. It gets intermittently loud but nothing that noise cancellation from headphones couldn't solve. Internet speed is average; I tested 33.5 Mbps up and 10.75 down. I usually opt for either milk teas or smoothies at boba shops, but I ordered the Citrus Lord to try something new. It's still quite bland at 75% sweetness so I recommend sticking with 100% (advice coming from someone who lacks a sweet tooth). Otherwise not a bad drink, but you'd probably have to be a fan of citrus to love it. I do have one complaint. The tables and floors can get sticky from previous customers. I would've appreciated an employee coming out to routinely clean down the area. Before pulling out my laptop, I had to get some wet paper towels from the bathroom to wipe down the table. After patronizing Mein recently, I felt inspired to revisit Dun Huang Plaza again to check out the Chinatown location of Feng Cha. The last time I visited Dun Huang was over two years ago to get ice cream at Aqua S, the cool Australian ice cream spot which is now closed. And given the fact Ding Tea closed quite some time ago at a nearby shopping/restaurant center, I figured it's time to find a new place to get bubble tea or coffee drinks. With the help of the guy working the counter, I decided on a Kiwi Basil Green Tea sweetened at a level of 75 percent, adding brown sugar boba. I really enjoyed this drink, and it was fun spooning out the last bits of kiwi at the bottom of the cup. I found the decor on the inside to be cool. It was still reflective of Halloween, with artsy cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. One important point to be made about this particular Feng Cha location: it tends to get really, really busy. Looking at this Feng Cha outpost from my car, I could tell this has to be one of the most popular businesses at Dun Huang Plaza. Lots of people came and went. It kind of makes one feel sorry for the folks at Gong Cha a few doors down because Feng Cha seemed to be getting all the business at the back end of the plaza. My friends and I came here for an after dinner drink. The citrus lord was really good and they used real fruits. We also got the dirty chai. It had a nice chai/cinnamon after taste. There are lots of clean table and chairs. The place is also decorated for Halloween! Theres also a corner to borrow some games to hang with friends or study here. There are also outlets next to the benches so you can bring your laptop here to work/study. The staff is nice but soft spoken. It was hard to hear them when they call out our drinks. So if you can't hear them calling out numbers, be sure to go to the corner to ask every once in a while. Free parking out front and there are garages. I couldn't believe the kind of treatment that I got this evening from your female worker at the cash register when I was simply trying to ensure the 25% sugar level of my order, because: (1) diabetes runs in my family (occasional indulgence is okay, but we still have to be very careful); and (2) I could swear that the male worker (who was calmer and more patient) initially said something to the effect of "we start at 50%," which really threw me off since I read a review specifically about this place being able to make drinks with a 25% sugar level. Then the said female worker next to the male worker, doing nothing except listening to us, started laughing in front of me. How disrespectful! Is that proper customer service? Later on, I realized that two drinks out of three didn't have boba. I said to the same female worker that I was pretty sure I said that I wanted boba. She then said, "he did ask you if you wanted any toppings." I didn't equate boba with a "topping," so it was my fault for not knowing that. In my mind, not being familiar with your menu, normal toppings are like sprinkles, syrups, and additional milk foams. Nonetheless, was that kind of talking back really necessary if you understand and aim for great customer service? What happens to simply apologizing for any misunderstanding without shaming your customers? When so many people have been laid off and college graduates are having difficulties finding jobs, can't you hire people with higher EQ and better customer service skills? As far as the drinks, all three of us felt they tasted like diluted milk instead of that creamy milk tea with the distinct fragrance and quality from the type of tea used. By the way, their opinion of the drinks was not at all biased or affected by my earlier encounter with that female worker, because they had no idea as I didn't tell them. I always make sure to get less ice on feng cha drinks because their drinks usually always get diluted fast when I order from them, especially their Richardson location. I got the black milk tea and my friend got the strawberry overload with boba. The black milk tea had a strong tea flavor which I like, and the strawberry overload had a very strong strawberry flavor. Why 5 stars? Because the mango breeze is basically a perfect beverage. --- --- --- I don't understand this shopping plaza. There are 487 restaurants. 212 of them are boba places. How do any of them make money with the competition quite literally stacked on top of itself like this? It was raining, which didn't help things. And there was some kind of pavilion in the middle where a party was happening, which added to the chaos. But every corner I turned, another car was there. My map basically told me that Feng Cha was "somewhere" in this plaza. But the plaza was the size of a small city, the the business per capita equivalent to the heart of Manhattan. But eventually I arrived, and settled on a Mango Breeze with boba. I usually have a 30 minute argument with myself when visiting a bubble tea shop: should I go with something fruity or milky? In this case, I got a **perfect** combination of both. The mango was super refreshing, but the cheese foam gave it just enough creaminess to satiate that need too. Usually feng cha is my go to boba spot. Solid tea drinks because the flavor comes through well. The line is always long because it's a really popular place for good reason! However I was disappointed today because I tried the mango au lait 50% sweet. When I drank a sip it was extremely sweet still, like I didn't adjust the sweetness. The drink pick up window has a sign that says if you're not satisfied with your drink, you can let the workers know and they'll fix it. I asked and the worker there essentially said that even if she put 0% sugar, the drink would still be the same sweetness, no less. If it was that way, shouldn't the workers let customers know the sweetness can't be adjusted? I don't like sweet drinks and this is a waste of a drink now. I'm also shocked that they didn't offer to make a different drink. How did this interaction fix anything? Feng cha in Katy is better with less people and better service. read more
