Took a day trip and decided to stop in Jules J Berta. For being late afternoon, the winery was quite busy and even busier when we left. The winery recently moved from the front of the property to the back. Beautiful setting overlooking the pond as the sun was setting. It's quite a large place... As you enter the main entrance, you can go either right to the bright and casual wine bar or left to the open and airy restaurant. Further back you can see where they are actually making the wine. The wine bar like I said is casual. There's a smaller bar area with a few chairs and long table in front of the wall of windows. The longer bar is standing only, but the room is all open and very bright with the afternoon sun. You get two free samples and each sample after is $3. We ended up trying a couple wines that we didn't have at the restaurant. As for the restaurant, we didn't go inside as we chose to sit outside enjoying the weather. There are two floors and could eat outside on either floor, but downstairs you over look the pond and that's where we sat... it was actually quieter and more serene as there were only a few people down there and you must be 21 to be on the patio. Upstairs is very family oriented. Our server Maddy Rae was very attentive and such a great conversationalist. She made some great recommendations and we ended up having a very popular cheese board with three different honeys and a bbq chicken wood fired pizza. All pizzas are one size and more like a larger personal pan pizza. The food was amazing and can see why it's so popular. The wine was good too.... We opted for a flight of red, white and blush and a flight of slushies. The slushies were a hit especially on a warm day.... There was pins colada, watermelon punch, sangria and one more but can't remember. I enjoyed the first three that much but the watermelon was my fav. For the red, white and blush flight, my favorite was the Mauvis Juju with hints of berries, rhubarb and floral notes. This is one of my wife's favorite places.She had the pizza with a cauliflower crust and a wine slushy flight.I got a flight of muscadine wine.She loves the pizza and slushys .My wine was great with one that tasted like honey as the main standout. The food and drinks were great however we felt rushed by our waitress.Also we could see the people in the kitchen and one guy kept touching his face and everything else with hand with a glove on it.The atmosphere was great with seating inside and out on a pond.I will be bringing my wife back and giving another The Working Man Review. read more

I discovered this place early on during a job I did in Albertville about 3 years ago which had me in town for the better part of 3 months. Since then, I've been coming to town 3 or 4 times per year, and I always have to make time to stop here. I'm not a huge drinker, but the sweet wines are always delicious. However, the artisan pizzas are the draw for me. On my most recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the restaurant and winery recently expanded into a beautiful new space at the back of the property, accompanied by a full expanded menu. I came for the pizza, but had to try the the smash burger instead. No regrets! The burger was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the bread was fresh, and the thin fries were battered and seasoned. Loved our visit! We came on Valentine's Day while visiting Guntersville for the weekend. We had the muscadine wine flight and found many delicious wines we loved. Bama Belle was especially nice. We also had a wonderful and attentive waitress. We were able to eat outside with a heater on us and even bring our dog. The view was beautiful. We also had pizza for lunch that was absolutely delicious, and I loved the option of having cauliflower crust. No lies here from me. Just facts that you don't want the general population to know about. When it costs $76 for three modest sized pizzas and 4 canned soft drinks with the automatic added 20% gratuity, that's way overpriced for 2025. The gratuity should not have been added on automatically, as this is not acceptable! If we had table service that would have changed everything, but we did not, the kitchen staff brought out the food. We still had to do all the work, walking over to the other building to order and pay it all in advance, along with having to hand carry my drinks to the table myself,. Once again, GOOD LUCK! My husband and I went to the new remodeled winery. Pretty, not extravagant. The waitress was nice but pushed for us to buy more. They only serve water in bottles that you have to buy. The pizza was ok, not great. We bought wine, a pretzel, and a small pizza that came to over $77. The waitress had us pay without seeing a bill receipt. When I asked for a receipt, the waitress said you'll get it after you pay. The receipt had a $10 indoor dining fee (whatever that is). Had we known, we wouldn't have added another tip onto that. We won't be back because we've been to many wineries in the US and have never had it cost this much for so little, nor have an indoor dining fee. We still don't know what that is. read more

We stopped in after a round of golf and enjoyed a flight of wine and a three-cheese charcuterie board. It's a beautiful place, and we had a great experience. The owner and her daughter-in-law were very accommodating and gave us a great restaurant recommendation for dinner. We highly recommend checking out this adorable winery. I must say the scenery of this vineyard is beautiful. However beware, this vineyard only has outdoor seating and therefore you will have to deal with the elements/bugs, but they do have some shaded areas for seating. The staff was friendly despite our confusion over the menu. I've been to a few vineyards and I think I was expecting a little bit more "hand holding" when it came to ordering from the menu and a better description of the wines they sold. We were immediately greeted and sat and then "dumped" so to speak. We had to get someone's attention to come back and further explain the wine menu. Also, if you love sweet wines, then this is the place for you. They were a little too sweet for my liking, but my group enjoyed them. They also have a great variety of wines and wine slushes. Lastly, I really enjoyed their pizza and charcuterie board. You even get to pick your own cheese/cheeses. All in all, it is a beautiful vineyard. I took my daughter there for the first time last weekend. We were so excited to visit. As always, the staff was very kind and provided great customer service. However, our visit was shortened greatly due to the abundance of flies bombarding our food!!!! We were so disappointed and upset. We ended up boxing up what we could (everything we felt that the flies didn't destroy) and left. Maybe the owners would highly consider screening in the areas during the summer to provide the customers an opportunity to enjoy their food and drinks without the nuisance. My husband and I are self-professed pizza snobs and this vineyard doesn't disappoint. The wines however... well we would love if there were more dry red options! The selection leans heavily on sweet wines, which I'm sure people enjoy . But more variety would take this vineyard from 4 stars to 5. read more

I usually visit this Winery once a year when I come home to visit family and normally I've been pretty satisfied however, this past experience really rubbed me the wrong way and I will NO longer support this place because I was asked to leave Friday night because I brought in "outside food" I reviewed the menu beforehand and saw nothing that my picky 4yr old daughter would eat so I brought in 2 chicken fingers for her and I brought in a bottle for my 8 month old son (not like I walked in for food for the whole 6 person adult party) we were looking forward to a night of wine flights and slushies but that quickly ended when I gave a screaming 4 yr old a chicken finger to calm her down. There was indeed a sign posted that said "no outside food allowed" and another that said "no baseball or football allowed" however, when we walked in a kid kicked a soccer ball right into my sons stroller almost immediately (which I didn't care bc we're not bitches) so its safe to see how I loosely interpreted the sign, obviously they wouldn't want me bringing in food for the whole adult party but for a 8 month old and a 4 yr old give me a break right? anyway the waitress was as nice as she could be but the end result was we were asked to leave. It saddens me to have to break this connection especially since I've had them ship cases of wine out of state to me in Massachusetts where I'm currently stationed but I guess they needed that food money from my 4 yr old too...... or else they may go out of business. The wine slushes and pizza are fantastic. Nothing wrong with the service. Dog friendly, I called ahead, they even suggested bringing a water bowl since they are an outside venue. Only ding on a star is for the whole pizza ordering system. We ordered online ahead since it was a very hot day, and we were told that we couldn't eat our to go pizza in a box at the table, they apparently add a 20% tip automatically if you done in, which is fine, but there isn't an option to tell them you want pizza in a box ready to go, we specifically did this in case our pup need to leave etc, so we could cover our food. Over the next hour or so we spent most our time fighting off the flies. Definitely bring money, it gets expensive pretty quick, but the pizza is worth the trip. read more

Harvest Host experience was great in the open field near the huge Pine tree. No amenities, however we are prepared for off-grid camping. It was amazing to wake up and see the grapes growing in the field. The night before we walked to order pizza. We are GF, DF and both ordered the Cauliflower Crust. So delicious. We order a wine sample of Sand Mountain Blanc and it was $10. It was the best "Riesling" I have ever tasted. It was not as sweet as a lot of the ones I have tried. We bought 2 bottles and I thought the price $22 was wonderful for a locally made, award winning wine! The pizza ordering process could have been smoother with a menu posted somewhere else besides the ordering counter. We didn't mind the line at all because it gave us a chance to read the wine labels and look at wine merch. The 20% automatically added gratuity was ok too because the service was great and everyone was so kind. These days a lot of people do not tip at all. We were not bothered by pests and it was a beautiful place to eat outside with that huge grape vine covering the outdoor areas. read more

This is a beautiful winery. Great food, beautiful setting. The wine is also good. I would love to give it a 5 star, but I was disappointed with the actual wine tasting portion of our trip. You stand at the counter and feel very rushed with people waiting in line behind you. Also, there was no information given about each wine. This is a hidden gem in Alabama! We decided to take a short road trip and go to some of the vineyard we had not visited yet. Everything is so nice! The drive and entry is decorated pretty and welcoming. As you walk up the side walk to the left is a pizza kitchen where you can order fire roasted pizza! Lots of out door seating in several areas throughout the grounds. One has a pretty pergola with vines growing over it that will be divine in the summer! Inside the shop and tasting room has lots of fun wine themes items to browse and purchase as well as their wines displayed with awards beside them. The tasting counter isn't huge but can comfortably host 6-7 guests at a time. They had two staff members behind the counter that seemed to enjoy what they do and was knowledgeable of the large variety of wines the craft. One I had never tried before was a honey wine. It is good, sweet and a hint of honey on the back. We tried several ones- all were nice and showed their craftsmanship of the vineyard well. We purchased one bottle called dog at large. Semi sweet, fruity, low tannin that was good both at room temperature and slightly chilled. Chilled caused the fruit to really blossom! We also purchased two glasses that are beautiful! The are stemless with their monogram embossed. Just a good size! Tio: As most vineyards offer free tastings, theirs is $6/person. read more

My 4 friends and I visited yesterday. We were prepared to spend a leisurely afternoon. First impression was not a welcoming. The clerk never smiled & seemed annoyed. We brought 3 Disanti waters with us to stay hydrated. We noticed there we're no water stations available. He stated we had to take our water back to the car because personal drinks were not allowed. One bottle was totally empty as she was going to refill it. I put mine in my backpack. We decided to start with 2 bottles of wine to share. We asked for a couple samples to choose style. The clerk gave us three small samples which we passed among the five of us. We were not told there would be a fee for these meager samples. We ordered two bottles of Syrah & two pizzas. He then hands us a stack of cheap PLASTC cups?!! When we asked for real wine glasses, he said they don't provide due to breakage. Hello - you're a vineyard. Serve your wine in proper glassware. And breakage overhead is part of operating cost. Unbelievable. The plastic enclosed patio was quite chilly. They need more heaters but were kind enough to pass out blankets. The servers were friendly. Pizzas were decent. Syrah was average. The Cab was not available. Another disappointment. We went to tab out & we're shocked that our bill for 2 bottles of wine & 2 pizzas was $159!! They had charged us $5 each for our water bottles, (a penalty??) they charged a $15 fee for a "wine sampling" - also had added gratuity which they were not transparent about. When we questioned the bill, especially the water charge the female owner proceeded to yell at us saying it was an ABC law. I work in the beer/wine industry. I've never heard of this regulation. I've visited breweries and vineyards all over the state and have always been allowed to bring personal water. Regardless her attitude and tone was apprehensible. She didn't offer to explain or credit any of the charges. We felt cheated and taken advantage of. If you're going to nickel and dime your customers at least be transparent enough to disclose first. So Buyer Beware!! There's many other wonderful Alabama vineyards like Ozan & Vizani who value their guests and don't take advantage of their wallets. Please patronize them. read more
