Took a day trip and decided to stop in Jules J Berta. For being late afternoon, the winery was…read morequite busy and even busier when we left. The winery recently moved from the front of the property to the back. Beautiful setting overlooking the pond as the sun was setting. It's quite a large place... As you enter the main entrance, you can go either right to the bright and casual wine bar or left to the open and airy restaurant. Further back you can see where they are actually making the wine. The wine bar like I said is casual. There's a smaller bar area with a few chairs and long table in front of the wall of windows. The longer bar is standing only, but the room is all open and very bright with the afternoon sun. You get two free samples and each sample after is $3. We ended up trying a couple wines that we didn't have at the restaurant. As for the restaurant, we didn't go inside as we chose to sit outside enjoying the weather. There are two floors and could eat outside on either floor, but downstairs you over look the pond and that's where we sat... it was actually quieter and more serene as there were only a few people down there and you must be 21 to be on the patio. Upstairs is very family oriented. Our server Maddy Rae was very attentive and such a great conversationalist. She made some great recommendations and we ended up having a very popular cheese board with three different honeys and a bbq chicken wood fired pizza. All pizzas are one size and more like a larger personal pan pizza. The food was amazing and can see why it's so popular. The wine was good too.... We opted for a flight of red, white and blush and a flight of slushies. The slushies were a hit especially on a warm day.... There was pins colada, watermelon punch, sangria and one more but can't remember. I enjoyed the first three that much but the watermelon was my fav. For the red, white and blush flight, my favorite was the Mauvis Juju with hints of berries, rhubarb and floral notes. Everything was amazing and will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

The food and drinks were great however we felt rushed by our waitress. Also we could see the people in the kitchen and one guy kept touching his face and everything else with hand with a glove on it.The atmosphere was great with seating inside and out on a pond.I will be bringing my wife back and giving another The Working Man Review.

Now this winery makes a statement. The hidden gem is tucked in between a residential and business…read morearea but also has a Kick Ass name of one of the wines, called Skeeter P (Piss). And for a non-sweet wine connoisseur, this wine is exceptionally aromatic and balanced. Seemingly, from the time we entered this place they had lots of visitors. Another of the North Alabama wineries, this place is impressive. After chatting with the owner, Keith, a gregarious and informative historian you can see that he has turned this winery into a competitor one that others in Alabama and surrounding areas, best take notice. Since they don't sell outside of Alabama or in restaurants at this point, they are known by simple marketing which is by, Word of Mouth. Darn, that speaks volumes on how good their wines are. From the outside, the winery appears modest and unassuming with a homemade cat sanctuary off to the side as you enter as well as comfortable seating if you want to sit awhile and drink a few glasses of wine. However, once inside you see a display of wines in a modern showcase, signage revealing free wine tasting, wall art and decor throughout. The focal point, an American flag with wines and champagne glasses adorning it, as though they were selected to display a vestige of the modern south which is now a true competitor in the wine game. Keith, personable, engaging and endearing. He served as the wine pourer, provided the archive of the winery and even gave my party of 4 a tour. He showed us the vats used for making the wines, bottling techniques to include corking and labeling as well as gave us insight into how the infamous Skeeter P came into existence. The wines ranging from sweet to dry and each having its own unique flavor of bright, aromatic, bold, bountiful, crispy and fruity to name a few descriptors of the full bodied taste. As a true dry wine lover, I was pleasantly surprised at the enjoyment of the sweet taste of Skeeter P (SP), made of peach, pear and apple. Keith speaks of its uncanning existence with pride and serendipity. Although I enjoyed the blueberry and pomegranate dry wines, SP sold it for me. Can't wait till my next visit to 'Bama to come back and see the new wines as well as the old favs.

My daughter was home to celebrate her birthday and was looking for something interesting to explore. I mentioned wine and she immediately said, "how about muscadine wine." Our favorite brand of wine is Hidden Meadow. Say less, let's go! We found a Groupon, reserved a time and away we went. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! When you look up peace, Webster should have a picture of this place. The personal tour was great. We learned a lot about wine making in the South. There's nothing like Southern hospitality. The grounds were beautiful and picturesque. The cozy seating on the front porch felt like home and the outdoor patio is great for having a nice cookout and/or family get together. Now let's talk wine. My favorite will always be the Scuppernong. But there are others like the Riesling, Blackberry, Blueberry, Blush, Rose, dry, table, fruit blends and more. I've been to a few tastings but never wanted to grow a grape or muscadine until now. This family was so open and welcoming about growing, producing and distributing wine until it made me think, yes I could do this. I'm not but they made me think I could. GO TO THIS WINERY!!!

I was excited to see the crowded parking lot when we arrived. Still ample parking was available. It's been 2 years since my last review so I had forgotten the setup. Basically you find a table (inside or outside) and they come take your order. We opted to sit inside. Our server, Madison was sooooo good! I really enjoyed interacting with her and she made this experience fantastic! She was very efficient and had a great personality. All of the staff were amazing & hardworking! I ordered a wine flight. I did good picking out 4 delicious wines. My fav was the Grenache Rose! So refreshing, crisp and just down right very satisfying! For food we kept it light. We split the Brie cranberry and almond app and I just had to try that hot honey peach cheesecake. We enjoyed both selections so much! Unfortunately, August 10th is their last day of operation. I definitely recommend supporting this local business if you can. I plan to go back to purchase some wines and also to attend events they have planned.
