I love the views here. I never would have discovered this place if it wasn't for Tennessee Valley Wine Tours! Their tastings include 5 wines and you get a keepsake glass, which I love when places do that! Their shop is adorable and they even have a custom soap made after their resident winery cat - Mittens!! I highly recommend asking for the wine slushees. They are delicious! They use a dry wine to cut down the sweetness and they go down smooth! They also have different charcuterie board options as well! Swiss man came to Huntsville for NASA & had a woman help him with his English, now his wife of over 50 years. Started this winery. They are planning to have monthly themed brunches. (Reseevations required.) Beautiful drive to this great spot on a lake. Great variety of wines. They started the Winery passport when other wineries didn't want to participate. Reasonably priced wines, local honey, & merch. A very friendly cat that will hop up on your table outside to enjoy the view with you. Summer you can pick Muscadine grapes (supposedly the cat will walk with you). You won't be disappointed!! Support local!! read more

TLDR; highly recommend. Go for brunch. We stopped at this winery for brunch and a tasting. They had a really nice variety of wines to choose from. My favorite was the Super T and the blueberry (made from actual blueberries). The brunch was outstanding. Their chef Kenya really outdid herself with the brunch we had the egg croissants that came with a walnut spinach salad. Our favorite, though, was the watermelon brie and balsamic. It was creative and really tasty. The winery has a great view of a small lake. Very pastoral. read more

Please don't go to an Alabama winery expecting Napa? I was here a few years ago and have had the wines since - Jahn Coppey is a formidable winemaker and a dynamic personality. When I talk to him I always feel like I'm talking to a Gentleman from the True South. Some wines that I really enjoy from his list are: Viognier - the fact that he can make a Viognier this good makes me awestruck - how can it be. I love Viognier with the taste of wild flowers and stone fruit (Apricot, Nectarine, and Peaches). Delicious. Seyval Blanc - This is one of the wines that I think you could taste people in California and France and they would not know that it is an 'East Coast' grape varietal with great acidity and character - think Sauv Blanc or Albarino. My friend LOVED the Cinthiana, another Vitus Labrusca grape varietal, sweet style - great with cheese or a less sweet dessert. Then he makes a well structured Syrah that brings out some ripe mature dark berry flavors. Well crafted - great with so many hearty dishes - I like to take it to a restaurant and turn the staff onto something that isn't from California. Jahn also made this amazing Nebbiola (I think the grapes were from Italy) - WoW. Tough to find he may be sold out - but this is a destination wine, seek it out and enjoy it. Old Vine Zin and Malbec from Latin America are also favorites. Amazing to me that these wines are being made in Alabama!! Truly impressive. Appreciate what you have - a rare find in the Southeastern United States. It's a beautiful place even in winter, and they have these savory wine and cheese platters. We like to grab a bottle and sit down and enjoy it with a platter - makes for a great romantic picnic. read more

We are long-time fans of this winery. The owner and staff are are so friendly and informative and spend time explaining different types available, how they were made, the history of the business. It's been helpful to be able to sample very different wines without having to purchase pre-selected flights of random offerings as required by another winery we visited. The discount card is a great savings. Meat and cheese platters are tasty, served in the scenic and peaceful outdoor setting. We'll be back soon to try the brunch! read more

I've been wanting to go to Wills Creek winery for a while now. Today decided to take a little road trip and check it out. It's about 6-7 miles off the interstate and the winding country road going to the winery is nice. They have several wines to choose from and offer free tastings. Fruits like peach, blueberry, various grapes, muscadine and strawberry. I purchased their peach and a hot sorreno raisin that is used mainly for cooking. The peach I enjoyed a lot. Is sweeter than what I usually get but I liked this one because it's unique. It has a little heat on the back side. They have specialty wines around holidays. I hear their chocolate is quite delicious and plan to make a trip after thanksgiving when it'll be available! The winery offers wine making classes the first Saturday of each month which give the foundations to make your own! They also carry a wide supply of wine making supplies. The tasting room is comfortable. The tasting is done around a stand up bar area. Our the back door is a large porch with high tables with umbrellas looking out over a small lake. They also have chairs around the vineyard grounds to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of vino and eat small bites. My hostess, Deesha, was wonderful offering discussion about each wine. Plus she remembered my pups name from a text conversation we had previously I really enjoyed going and plan to go back soon! read more

I had my bridesmaid Brunch here and it was delicious! Blueberry French toast, cheesy bacon grits, fresh fruit, and she even let us try a baileys Irish cream brownie she had been working on! They were so sweet and I cleaned my plate! We will definitely be back! read more

We stopped by the store, not the wedding venue, and did a free wine tasting On June 8, 2013. The lady inside was real nice and very helpful. The store offers all of the vineyard's products and even cheeses, meat, candles and other things for you to buy. The main store has a back deck area that overlooks the property, you can order meat and cheese plates and wine, enjoy the scenery and take a break from life. The wedding venue (maybe a couple of miles from the main store) from the road looks much nicer, but we couldn't go up there on our visit due to a wedding being in progress. *The vineyard offers some great muscadine wines, which I highly recommend. These wines are very sweet and full of flavor. If you want to buy something from this vineyard definitely do so at the official store, it is much cheaper than a retailer in the area. I would highly recommend this winery if you are traveling by. I stopped on my way from Knoxville to Birmingham and spent a good amount of time inside. The selection of wines is great, and the muscadine wines were also something new to me since I am not a native of Alabama. Each of the wines was pretty solid although the Mead (Honey Wine) was the best of their selection. If you go here expecting the best wines ever, this probably isn't your place. But if you would like good wines, a free tasting, a wide variety, and friendly staff, this is the place. Their selection of locally grown foods and products is also great!!!! read more
