It was a Sunday afternoon, and luckily, they were open. There were just a few people, but as they day progressed, more trickled in. Michelle, the beertender, at the time was great. She suggested all sorts of beers based on my taste and let me sample them all. One suggestion she had was to mix the Mango with the Blood Orange. It was really good. The two that I ended up drinking were the Duck River Dunkel and the ISB English Ale. I also liked that they had pretzels and popcorn as bar snacks. We met some really nice people and talked for a while. It reminded me of the old summer days when everyone would just sit and talk and enjoy life. It sure beat the fast-paced and scheduled life that goes on today.

Still a relatively new brewery, so still getting going with regard to their own specialty drafts, but they feature other local flavors, so there are good options. The brewery itself is pretty spacious. Love the area that has a couple love seats next to a fire place and a bunch of board games that are there to help pass the time. Pool table in the back of the brewery and three tv's all playing college football games. Prices are good, and they had a couple things we liked. The person at the bar had cooked game day treats and shared his smoked pork belly with us (so good!). These guys look to have a long successful run in this business with the quality customer service they provide. Really impressed and look forward to coming back and sampling new brews when they have them.

I've also had their Asian chicken sandwich, it's not RIP but it wasn't that great. Their menu changes pretty regularly, which is a blessing and a curse. You sometimes miss great dishes and other times, it's nice to have constant new favorites. The staff here is such an odd thing. Coming from almost two decades in Austin, we had a huge brewery scene and culture. That said, some of the folks working here seem either annoyed by their customers or that they're doing everyone a huge favor by being here. That's such weird thing. Even my partner, who doesn't get bothered much got annoyed by one of their more surly beertenders. Continuing the lamentation of days of yore, they just don't have much fresh turnover of beers here. I often see the same beers month after month, if anything that's a sad testament of the current state of the craft beer economy. Lastly, regarding service, it makes absolutely zero sense as a patron living in SEC country, that leadership of this wonderful space would CHOOSE not to put their TV's on a sporting event with ties to the region. I had an employee assist with a TV only for the manager to chastise him for doing it right in front of me. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would rather be that right about making customers happy, there with other patrons nearby thanking me, only to subject your paying customers to have to watch an infomercial on your ginormous TV's. The beef was clearly ground in house and was a wonderful coarse grind. excellent. With the buns charred on the grill, it made an excellent light lunch without any sides needed. Added bonus for house brewed beer. Found the kolsch a tasty lunch treat. Warmish inside, and hot outside, sadly the views that day were shrouded in haze. Don't know when we'd ever be back in the area, but if we were, I'd not hesitate to suggest a repeat stop.

The staff that greets and seats you--as well as our waitress--was unfriendly bordering on rude. Just weird. Our local friends state that there are a lot of out-of-state residents living nearby (especially California expats) and they're not well liked. That may be the case, but it appeared that everyone was treated shabbily. Kinda sours the experience. Lastly, there were a lot of flies. I counted 10 at one time near the entrance, kitchen and booth seating. You can see a few on the photo I attached. That really hurts the dining experience. This is a one and done for us.
