While I know it's probably a Covid thing, I loved the screens between each table - it made us feel very cozy. The food was amazing. I had the burrata appetizer and scallops for main dish. The scallops were served on top of grapefruit slices, which seemed unusual, but it was great!! They were cooked perfectly. Husband's chilean sea bass was delicious, but could've been a slightly larger portion. The sides (mashed potatoes and snap peas) were cooked just right. The prices were somewhat high. It's a byob which is cool, but dinner for 2 with appetizers is over $100 before tip. The food is great, so it's totally worth it! I look forward to going back! Absolutely the best restaurant in the area. The seafood here is the best I've ever had. I like to come here on special occasions and bring a bottle of Santa Margherita. Menu is always changing and bringing in different fish. The bluefin tuna was the best entree I ever ate. They also have the best crab cakes I've had. All of their fish are entrees are amazing. I also like to start off with a burrata salad and shrimp cocktail. They were very accommodating during covid and tried their best to have outdoor dining which was very lovely under the heated tent. I try and recommend this place to literally everyone for date night! Wait staff and hostesses are always perfect as well. Can't stress enough how amazing this place is! I don't give out many five stars but this restaurant deserves them. It's a BYOB in historic Bristol Borough. The menu is small but creative and delicious. A little pricey, but worth it -- especially since you can bring your own adult beverages. My wife have the WHOLE BRONZINO (see photo below). She loved it. I had the blackened shrimp (see photo below). It was amazing. So flavorful. Plump and cooked perfectly. We also had a side of street corn - which is something I've never had before but trusted my wife when she said I'd like it. She was wrong. I LOVED it. I could have had two bowls, by myself. We finished with Key Lime Pie. (See photo below.) It was very good but I'm spoiled. My wife makes the best Key Lime Pie, and this one didn't measure up. But there's no shame in finishing second to my wife's cooking! Finally, a word about the ambiance: a little loud and tight but I love the staff and the open concept. The kitchen is in the same room -- completely open to the patrons. All in all a great dining experience. This was our first visit and it will not be our last. read more

A mix of both good and bad at this establishment, which was a bit of a let down. First and foremost, upon arriving, there was no parking at all near the restaurant. We had to park in the back parking lot a couple of streets away and walk a short ways to the restaurant (in the very cold). When you first walk in, you can also see the restaurant has quite a bit of a weird layout. The entrance is narrow, so customers can't both enter and leave at the same time without waiting awkwardly for the other to move out of the way. And the path to the bathroom is narrow as well, so if the waitress is at the table nearest the bathroom, you'll also have to wait awkwardly until she moves out of the way to get to the bathroom. One star off for the odd and cramped layout of the parking lot and building itself. Next, some of the food was excellent, and some other dishes were not as great. The most delicious thing tonight was the scallops. But on the other hand, given that I ordered them as part of the surf and turf, I have to comment on the fact that the lamb chops were awful! I should have known better than to order a non-seafood item from a place that seems to specialize in seafood. But it was confirmed: the lamb chops were cooked okay, but tasted entirely of nothing but endless rosemary, which can be bitter and overwhelming if you have ever had that happen before. I couldn't even finish the chops (not even one of them) because of the bitter taste of the crust. The second best thing was the avocado toast with blackened shrimp. The avocado was especially creamy and delicious, and added just the perfect fatty element to the shrimp and the toast. I would definitely order it again. In third place for me was the crab cakes. The crab cakes, to me, were far from the best I've ever had (and for $40, being the most expensive I've ever had, they should have been). They tasted almost nothing like crab. The flavor of the crabmeat was almost completely muted underneath the flavor of breading. It tasted like crisp breading and not a flavorful, moist, delicious crab cake. It was a huge disappointment. On to dessert! I enjoyed the bananas Singapore, but I felt that they should have drained off the excess of butter, sugar, and maple syrup. It was just far too heavy and far too sweet with the pool of sugar liquid that the bananas were swimming in. But, when I shook off much of this butter, sugar, and maple syrup mixture, and had the bananas (just lightly coated) with ice cream, it was excellent. Lastly, the key lime pie was awful. It tasted like really, really sour limes to me, but my friend liked it so I'll give it a pass. Another star off for the hit or miss food. Additionally, my friend found the waitress to be incredibly inattentive, but I wasn't paying attention as much as I was enjoying the conversation. However, when they complained to me for the third time that the waitress was taking absolutely forever to come back to the table and also had not refilled our water pitcher at all since it was emptied, I began to take note of the service, which was of indeed poor quality. I may or may not be back here. If I do, it will probably be for the scallops and avocado toast with blackened shrimp, and I would possibly even try some of their fish items. read more

Absolutely fabulous seafood and service! I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Jules@Market. My boyfriend and I heard great things about their $1 oyster special on Wednesday and gave it a try. Not only were the oysters some of the best we've ever had (and perfectly shucked), the following appetizers, entrees and desserts were exceptional. The ambiance was perfect and romantic with a live acoustic guitar player and warm holiday decor. We started with the three oyster varieties on that evening, including my favorites--sweet Washington State Kumamotos. The following seared octopus was perfectly tender and full of flavor. The blackened shrimp was a highlight, as well as the shrimp cocktail (we like shrimp). With about a dozen fresh fish entrees to choose from, our excellent server recommended the blackened Red Drum and pan-seared Halibut. Both exceeded expectations--the Halibut was so fresh and perfectly cooked with capers, lemon and butter to let the flavors shine through. The side of snap peas were an unexpected hit--crunchy and full of flavor. We finished with homemade Key Lime Pie and Pumpkin Cheese Cake--some of the best I've ever had and all made in-house. More than anything, the host (and owner) made us feel right at home--just like family! We will definitely be back again soon. read more

I understand--inflation, supply chain, etc.... It's everywhere. But, Despite dozens of visits here, Jules gets more expensive each time we go, and Each time, delivers a little less. Tonight it was the $36 Caesar salad that might've been the last straw......the food really is good...but I feel like we get rushed through dinner, always spend many hundreds of dollars, and are still in Bristol. What a find! Tucked away in Bristol, you will find the best seafood in all of bucks! Go figure! BYOB so bring your wine. The place is family owned and run, which adds a personal touch. The decor is simple and modern. We had the shrimp avocado toast, which was a bit oversalted but the blackened taste was phenomenal. The fresh raw oysters were delicious. The standouts on the menu are definitely the fish entrees and there are least a dozen to choose from. You will find a little description of each taste and preparation on the menu. We had the red snapper and blue fin tuna - both delicious. The blue fin tuna was so fresh and delicate unlike any fish I had ever tasted. The chocolate cake was almost addictive after the first bite. Went again for my birthday. This place is Amazing. My fiancee and I had the Halibut, Surf and turf, oysters, and scallops. The halibut was cooked perfectly mild, sweet tasting white flesh, large flakes and a firm but tender texture cooked to perfection. The lobster tail was nice and meaty with a perfect taste. The oysters were the best extremely creamy with a nice ocean taste. The Jumbo Sea Scallops were GREAT ! with Ruby Red Grapefruit, Capers, and Lemon Butter. Service was great. Wow! Everything we had here was delicious!! We have eaten at several 4 star Michelin restaurants and were very impressed by Jules@Market. The open kitchen reminded me of The French Laundry's. Not that Jules is a 4 star type place, but definitely would be Michelin rated. Dined here last night. Came here based off you yelp reviews. The travel was about 40 minutes from my house but well worth it! When we arrived we were promptly greeted and told it would be one moment. The gentlemen then directed us to a small table to the left of the entrance which we hesitated to sit at because it was right at the door. Then Jules jumped in she quickly redirected us to a table that would sit six although it was only 2 of us. She promptly gave was menus and poured water. While viewing the menu Jules came back and explained the specials of the night and provided details of where the fish came from how it was farmed and what we could expect the taste to be. I really appreciated that she provided explanations and was well versed and honestly answered all the questions. I decided on the shrimp avocado toast as my appetizer, the tile fish as my entree. My best friend went with the salmon, we shared 10 oysters, Brussels Sprouts & cauliflower. The oysters were light and fresh, no sea water or grit. My avocado toast could have been a meal. A generous serving of smashed avocado on ciabatta bread topped with blacked shrimp. There was a sauce on the plate but the app itself was so flavorful it wasn't necessary. My tile fish was light n flavor, firm in texture it was moist and very well seasoned seared perfectly or a bed of kale & spinach that was wilted to my liking. I sampled the salmon which was delicious as well. We cleared our plates and finished the whole bottle of wine! Too stuffed for dessert but will keep in mind to save room for a future visit. TL;DR: The owner Jules horribly mismanages reservations, blamed me for being unhappy with that, tried to make her hostess bear the brunt of it, and threw a tantrum like I've never seen before. We attempted to dine here Friday night. When they take reservations on OpenTable, they offer indoor or outdoor reservations. We opted for the first available indoor reservation, which was 8pm. If we wanted to eat outdoors, there were many available earlier, but this was a chilly, windy night. Also, one of the features of the restaurant that they advertise is their open kitchen design, so you only get the added experience of that if you eat inside. We arrived at 7:55 and checked in. The hostess began looking at outdoor tables, and I politely reaffirmed that our reservation was supposed to be indoors. She said there was no such thing as indoor or outdoor reservations and that neither was guaranteed, but we could wait for something to open up if we wanted. We then noticed that another couple was waiting in front of us who were dealing with the exact same problem. I asked the hostess to check how long we would have to wait. She went inside and came out 5 minutes later and told us, as well as the other couple, that there were two 2-tops getting dessert. It was now 10-15 minutes passed our reservation time, so I called the hostess' attention to the fact that their terms on OpenTable stipulate that reservations entitle you to 90 minutes of dining time (a very common rule in these pandemic times), and asked that someone hurry these tables along so that they can meet their obligations to us. The hostess went inside and I assume attempted to do that. Another 10 minutes went by while we waited - I won't say patiently at this point, but courteously and unobtrusively - and someone walked out carrying food, who I assumed was a waitress. She walked by us and asked if we'd like to sit at an outside table, and I explained the situation. Her face visibly didn't want to hear my recounting of events thus far and she cut me off and said they were very busy. I responded that that may be the case, but we were now pushing 25 minutes late on a guaranteed indoor reservation and that this was being mismanaged. She walked inside speechless as if I had just kicked her puppy, and the next thing I know, the hostess walks back out and says to us "Jules doesn't think this is the restaurant for you." Yes, the woman had in fact been the owner of the restaurant, and on top of her inability and unwillingness to sympathize with our poor experience thus far, she spinelessly sent someone else out to tell us to leave! After a minute or so of the hostess, now somewhat (understandably) embarrassed, trying to diffuse things, Jules walked back out. She immediately started scolding me as if I was somehow in the wrong. She asked to step to the side, which I did, because I assumed there was some type of misunderstanding that we inevitably would work through, and I didn't want to make it a public spectacle for her sake. She continues almost yelling about how busy they are and how she's trying her hardest, which, okay cool, but you're a professional restaurant owner and never in my life have I had anyone in a professional service management role yell at me about how hard they're trying - especially after I had spent 30 minutes trying to give them the benefit of the doubt to make things right. I tried multiple times to calmly ask her to let me get a word in to explain how things looked from my perspective - that they have a reservation book with guaranteed indoor and outdoor reservations and an industry-standard 90 minute max rule - all things that they actively setup in their reservation system, which if enforced would avoid situations like this - but she cut me off in the middle of every sentence. At one point she actually yelled "we don't have any rules!" and said I was attacking her, and again said she didn't think this was the restaurant for me. I responded that if calm and collected feedback about a horribly mismanaged experience after every attempt to let them work out the kinks feels like an attack, then I don't think this is the business for her. She then released her pièce de resistance, yelling "I've been in business for THREE AND A HALF YEARS!" as if that's some eternity that ranks her among the elders of the restaurant business and somehow indemnifies her from doing any wrong. At that point I picked my jaw up off the floor and we left. I seriously can't believe how that all unfolded. I am quite seasoned when it comes to high-end dining, the experience and management expectations that come with it, and customer etiquette, and never in my life have been so surprised by such an end-to-end failure. We came here last night for our anniversary dinner. We were only able to secure a reservation for outdoor seating. That would have been fine but it started to rain very hard. Jules and the wait staff found a table for us inside, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner of some of the best fish I've ever had. The wait staff will probably recommend having the blackened shrimp on avocado toast - take their advice! It's out of this world. I had an amazingly delicious crab cake and my husband had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes are delicious too. This place is a unique quaint city like restaurant in a beautiful small town. The food is so fresh. The menu is always changing with different types of fish. There are fish we've never heard of. The menu does explain where each fish was caught and what type of fish it is. Bobby the chef executes the perfect plate every time we've been there. We usually have Janelle as our waitress who is just amazing as well as Jules the owner who always swings by the table to make sure we are ok. Jules @ Market has always been one of our favorite restaurants. My family and I have always enjoyed the super down-to-earth neighborhood vibes, live music outside in the summer, and incredible menu of fresh seafood. Unfortunately with the pandemic it has been about six months since we've had the pleasure of dining here, and after coming back tonight I am so so happy that nothing has changed- in fact I think we may love it even more. They were meticulous about sanitation, everyone wore masks, hand sanitizer on every table, elegant partitions positioned inside between each table - everything they did made us feel safe and taken care of. The food was impeccable- we had both raw oyster offerings (summer loves and shipwrecks omg I can literally die happy), the avocado toast (legit crack), and then three fish entrees that were all incredible. We each thought that we got the best meal on the table, though our server Logan recommended the whole bronzino blackened for my Mom and she literally couldn't say enough about how much she loved it- thanks Logan, you were great!!! Then we had key lime pie for dessert and wooffffff, if it were a man I would've married it. Janelle was so accommodating and kind, and we wanted to thank Sam who shucked our oysters and prepared the desserts (impeccable!) and Bobby the chef and everyone there. The chef even came over and asked so what did we order again. Really? What's even worse. Party of 4 got seated 30 min after us and got their food. It's a small place how can you loose track of us? Maybe stop over every now and then and let us know what's going on. We walked out and had a proper meal and service at King George inn in under an hour.
