We have been in Bristol several over the past 2 years, working on a musical, and had never tried this restaurant. Mostly because theater keeps the creative team so busy that there's never enough time for a sit down meal. Last week we finally had a moment and chose Jules@Market for dinner with a friend. The first thing that caught my eye was the avocado toast appetizer. I'd had lots avocado toast in my day (I am from California, after all), but never with grilled shrimp! So I ordered it as my meal. I figured that it would be enough along with the Cesar salad and haricot verts that we ordered for the table. I was right! Not only was it delicious, but I was satiated. My partner and my friend both ordered dinner meals: the red drum fish and the miso cod. My fork snuck little bites of each. Again, delicious. This restaurant is on the pricey side for the area, but in alignment with the haute cuisine in larger cities at a smaller price point. If you have the budget, it's definitely worth it. read more

Jules herself is still there, running around checking in with her customers, the food and the entire operation. The size of her place has at least doubled since she opened and the food is still amazing. However, if there is a complaint, it would be that the menu has somewhat fallen into a rut. When Jules first opened the selection of fish changed fairly often, with some "standards" always appearing. The last couple of times we have been here, the standards are now the menu, with not much in the way of Specials. That is really a shame because of the variety of fish that was being served, with some we had never seen before in other restaurants. This is not to say that you shouldn't try the place - it's definitely one to check out but for repeat customers it needs some variety. read more

What a charming seafood restaurant. The decor is wonderful. It looks like some sort of converted industrial space. Old movies are projected on one of the movie theater sized walls. The center kitchen just add to the ambiance. The food was amazing. I had the Drum fish which was done perfectly and the sauces on the plate were delicious as well. The carrots were a great accompaniment and the keylime pie to finish was a perfect end to a perfect meal. The service was outstanding. read more

We had a lovely time at this cute restaurant in Bristol, PA. Loved watching the chefs working and the oyster shucking in the large open kitchen. Forgot to BYOB but enjoyed our meal, nevertheless. Wednesday buck-a-shuck was appreciated and the oysters of the day were very nice. Steak could have been seared more on one side and could have had a smidge less salt. The barramundi was very nice The staff was on point, our waiter, Dillon, was very good and the maître d? owner? checked in on and conversed with some of the guests/tables. So disappointed! Jules has been a go to favorite for many years. Had an outside reservation on Saturday night. Once I saw the weather I called to see if we can be switched inside and I was told they were full. They said I can cancel but would be charged $50/pp that will be a credit to the restaurant. I understand this is their policy but the weather was severe thunderstorms and I'm not sure how they expected anyone to sit out there!! The hostess was extremely rude on top of this. An interesting location in Bristol, PA. We have been in town before usually for pub crawls or a play and were happy to have a meal here. Our first time. We are here with dear friends who recommended the place. It is a smallish place a few blocks off the main drag of town. About 15 tables and an open kitchen. The place was pretty crowded and every table was taken. It was about 615pm on a Saturday. Our server came right over and knew everything on offer from memory. I got a dozen oysters which I split with my wife then the hamachi tuna which was seared perfectly and the fish was wonderfully seasoned and texture was marvelous. Others got the miso cod, twin South African lobster tails and a NY strip. All were pleased with their meals. We also got a couple of side potatoes and carrots. Dessert was key lime pie and vanilla ice cream. We split the bill and as it is a BYOB we were a bit surprised at the total. Each dish was a bit overpriced over $200 per couple. The food is so good here, I just wish for more of it. I got the salad and the blackened shrimp. My bf got the lobster and asparagus. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The salad portion could've been a bit bigger for the price, but I am not complaining at all about the taste. The star of the show had to be the sauce for the shrimp. To rave; the raw oysters were very fresh. The salads & appetizers were all delicious. The entrees were cooked perfectly. The shareable sides were a decent size and complimented the meals nicely. Everyone in my party absolutely loved the dessert! The entree sizes varied but some of the prices were expensive for some small portions sizes. I think for $48 you should get more than 4-5 scallops considering nothing else comes with the entree. Also I love the open kitchen concept in the restaurant! To rant; the service was weird to say the least. We tried calling to change or reservation for several days. When we finally got ahold of someone they said they don't like to answer the phone when they're busy. Assuming we also had the same server for our dinner the encounter and conversation was just overall odd. Had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Made a reservation through their website. Had a price fix reservation which we took. Clearly stated $80 per person. Had a nice meal with good service. When the bill came we were charged $100 per person. I immediately questioned the waitress and was told that was only priced for January. No where was that stated on website. We were then met by the "owner" who said that we were obviously wrong and not smart enough to know this. At that point asked for the credit card which she wasn't sure where it was. She was unprofessional and rude. Will not ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

My husband and I went for dinner. Small place with not a lot of tables, but they also have outside seating. The kitchen is open concept so you can watch them prepare your food. I had the beet salad to start. It had walnuts, goat cheese, and balsamic. Perfect balance of textures and taste. I also had the soft shell crab special in a creamy mustard sauce. The crabs were dusted in a light potato starch and sautéed. They were fresh and cooked just right. My husband had the seabass over mustard greens. The fish was buttery and fresh. I have been here several times now, and they do not disappoint. The fish courses are all top notch. This time I had the lobster and it was the best I have ever had, so tender and perfectly cooked. The drum and the salmon are always good picks. I love to start with the salad. The roasted carrots were amazing but I really ordered them just to take them home for another meal...I needed to leave room for dessert. You are not leaving here hungry. Service is very good, staff is pleasant and welcoming. Probably the best part of the ambiance is that you can have easy conversation. The background music stays in the background working its magic. Came here for a girls night dinner and had a pleasant time! Reservation was def needed, very busy! Super cute and open ambience with a black and white movie being projected on the wall, nice touch. We started with the oyster sampler, crab jalapeño, beet salad and mustard cream mussels. Oyster sampler was great, I loved the Bloody Mary one. Crab jalapeño was decent but I didn't like how they cut the crab, it was almost like artificial crab shreds and wasn't soft and tender. The mussels were delish but we need more sauce! I barely got to dip my bread in it I got the cod special, mashed potatoes and carrots. Honestly the cod was good but I needed something. Maybe a nice pickled kohlrabi slaw or creamy sauce on top. It was like a plain grilled fish. So there were 3 of us, we went for my friend's birthday. It is BYOB so when we were seated we told the waitress what we had she brought us buckets of ice to put the bottles in .There did not seem to be a problem we were joking around with the waitress everybody was having a good time. No one around us was complaining! We had our appetizers then when we got our entrees my friend took a bite of her boyfriend's steak it got stuck in her throat and she started choking she could not breathe we were all worried our waitress was worried finally the steak came up but unfortunately more than just the steak came up on her plate. I asked the waitress to get her another plate I said I was willing to pay for it! Well then the owner came over after the fact with no concern for my friend choking at all, she was more worried that she didn't like the alcohol that we brought the bottle that she complained about was 12% alcohol and only one drink had been poured from it she told us that she did not allow that kind of alcohol? If we've been told ahead of time I would have taken it to the car and I did put it away immediately but nothing was said beforehand she didn't seem to have a problem with anything until my friend choked on the food!!! My friend kept apologizing for choking on the food she was embarrassed and this owner had no concern for anything except for she was trying to blame it on the fact that we brought a bottle that she didn't like to her BYOB restaurant?? I felt bad because I'm the one that suggested the restaurant because I've been there before but I will never be back the owner's lack of concern is disheartening. Jules at Market is my favorite restaurant in PA! I have went more than a handful of times and have tried nearly everything on the menu. Everything I have had is a 10/10. Here are some of my favorites: 1. Avocado Shrimp Toast 2. Barramundi Entree 3. Crispy Salmon Rice 4. Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes 5. Pistachio Tres Leches Simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Every fish entree is SOO flavorful and cooked perfectly! Not to mention the service is impeccable, never felt rushed or felt that we waited for food too long. Staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable! The ambiance is laid back but upscale. My favorite touch of the whole restaurant is they have a projector screen of movies playing! This place never disappoints! This time I tried the avocado toast for the first time and boy, was it delicious. For dinner had the red drum which is my usual go to, and the boyfriend had the 6 ounce steak medium which melted in my mouth. It was cooked perfectly! The horseradish cream sauce that it comes with is amazing. The fingerling potatoes were just OK. Not sure if we would get them again. The brussels sprouts were delicious and seared perfectly. Service was a little bit slower than normal and our food took a very long time but was served hot but other than that our waiter Tyler was wonderful. read more

There is not a time limit on the tables and we had a small issue because our reservation was close to closing time and most parties were not ready to leave so we had to wait. The food is superb quality and taste, feels like you're fine dining, but in the most charming outdoor courtyard. The menu and hours vary, so check before you go. Tonight my husband and I wanted everything on the menu so we ended up getting two meals each: crab cake sandwich, red drum sandwich, avacado toast, Hawaiian shrimp cocktail. Our first time here and I give them a solid 4 (actually a 4.5, but Yelp will not allow that). We had reservations for 6 pm and I was happy that we were seated inside as the setting sun in front of the restaurant was a killer! The noise level was good. We atarted with an order of Avocado Toast and a Wedge Salad. The Toast was excellent but the wedge was a small wedge - but was vey tasty! Entrees consisted of a Swordfish Special (blackened, but a little small). That said, it was very good. Joan and Carol ordered the Blackened Red Drum and enjoyed their orders. Charlie opted for the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and they passed muster. We opted for the Duck Fat Smashed Potatoes and Haricorts Verts as our table sides. I would have gone with the Brussel Sprouts. We chose the cheesecake dessert and it was excellent. BYOB is a real plus here as well. I would like to see a larger choice of sides and must say that the portion sizes were a little small. Allow me to tell you about the best seafood dinner I've ever had. It was tonight. We started with appetizers. Avocado toast was suggested to us and we were like yeah we wanted that. When it came though it's not just Avocado and toast. It's got blackened shrimp on top. The "appetizer" feeds four. Even my wife's step father who is leery of fish really liked what he got. It was something akin to sea bass. I got the salmon. To die for. My wife got scallops and her mom got tuna. The sides are large and you split them with the table. So we got garlic mashed potatoes. They were phenomenal. Idk what they did to them but it wasn't just garlic. I tried a portion of one of the scallops and it was cooked to perfection. After eating our meals we wanted desert. Based on how amazing everything was I just wanted MORE. My wife wouldn't share so we each got a key lime pie that comes with a baby scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was insane how good this place was. The place is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. However you won't often hear me say that it is totally worth it. We talked about what percentage of Norwegian people drive electric cars. Look it up. It's astounding. Our server was awesome. Knew everything about the place and was genuinely excited about the food. He was proud to work at such a fine eating establishment. Honestly I would give this place ten stars. If you make this a date night add a nice little touch by walking down to the river. I am not sure what we were expecting at Jules other than wonderful food. It was much too hot to sit outdoors at the lovely tables with twinkling lights overhead. Inside it was surprising loud and crowded. We waited a bit for a table before choosing to sit near the door where it was quieter with no one on either side. We soon forgot the noise and enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was outstanding explaining every detail of the menu to us. We chose to start by sharing the very delicious avocado shrimp toast. Sensational! My friend had the corvina saying it was her first time eating that fish and enjoyed it very much. I had the best salmon of my life. No contest. The street corn was such a treat. We loved every bite. We shared the key lime pie (it was my birthday dinner), and I am sure it's the best I've ever eaten. Jules is pricey, but everything was outstanding. My wife and another couple celebrated my friend's 70th Birthday there. We've enjoyed celebrating at Philadelphia Oyster House for many years, and we're very happy that we gave Jules a try! This was our third visit. I have wanted to like this restaurant more than I do. It has a cool vibe, open concept and quality service. This time we pre ordered the tomahawk steak which required a pre payment online and included salads, fingerling potatoes and dessert. Everything was wonderful but the main course. The wedge and Caesar salads were great; the dessert (tres letches pistachio) was unbelievably good. The steak was overdone. I requested medium rare and clearly got medium well. The taste was unremarkable. You would think for the price and planning, it would be phenomenal. I have had better from Sam's club, much better actually. The potatoes were not good either, and I love potatoes. You would think for this pretentiousness, the main course would be better.
