This is a lengthy review because I looked for as much information as possible before getting my first brazilian and I thought there might be others doing the same. My one sentence summary for those who don't want to read an essay: my experience was so positive that I actually signed up with Yelp just so I could give Julie 5 stars. I went to Julie just 10 days before moving away from San Diego and I was afraid that it would be awkward because obviously I wasn't going to be a repeat customer, and what sort of incentive for great service would that provide? After reading all her standout reviews for brazilians, however, I wanted to go to her for my first professional waxing (the at-home version = painful fail that I couldn't even finish) and it turned out that Julie was AWESOME and a complete professional, even knowing that I couldn't be a repeat customer. Julie was super flexible when booking my appointment. When I first called I got a message that she was with a customer and would return my call. I left a message asking if it would be possible to book an appointment within the next 3 days, and she returned my call within a half an hour and told me that she could accommodate me on any of those days. My doctor, dentist and optometrist could stand to learn some serious customer service skills from her. She instantly put me at ease when I got there, explaining to me what she was going to do and about the products she uses. She made sure that she and I were both on the same page about what I wanted, so that there would be no unpleasant surprises when I looked down afterward, lol. She left the room while I undressed from the waist down and covered myself with a towel she had provided for me. Never having been to a professional before I was afraid that the experience was going to be awkward, but thanks to Julie it wasn't in the slightest. She was extremely professional and made me feel so comfortable, and her conversational skills kept me distracted throughout the entire process. As for the waxing itself, it barely hurt. I had heard that your first time is the worst, and this wasn't bad at all. Most of it didn't hurt, and it was minimal in the one or two spots that did. Julie explained that the hard wax she uses hurts less than strip wax, and has better results afterwards. I don't have anything to compare it to, but there was no residual soreness afterward and I don't have any bruising, rashes/redness or bumpiness that I've heard others complain about. What I especially loved was that Julie took the time to educate me about what I should look for when finding an esthetician when I move, how to assess hygiene, etc. Plus she gave me a $34 first-timer special, and started a buy-5, get-one-free card for me in case I change my mind about moving. =D Talk about going above and beyond. I'm sad that I'll be too far away to become a permanent customer, but I definitely recommend her to anyone considering a brazilian, especially those who have never had one before and are nervous. read more

Ok so I went to Julie for the first time today, and wow she was amazing! It was my first time getting a Brazilian done, and I was super nervous. So many people had told me that getting waxed down there is painful, but it didn't hurt at all with Julie. She uses hard wax which is supposed to be less painful than strip, and she's so friendly, talking to you the whole time to calm you down. She offers you wine or tea to help calm you down as well. The studio is very nice, everything is hygienic (one big phobia I have of going to waxing studios.) I went to Julie because of the reviews she had gotten on here and they were dead on. She's got a coupon floating around online from the reader for a $24 brazilian, so I pretty much paid half price which was such a big plus. And she has a loyalty card so that every 5th service you get done is free. Overall great service, for a great price! Definitely would recommend Julie to anyone, especially if it's your first time getting a Brazillian. read more

BEST BRAZILIAN and body WAXING EVER, and BEST FACIALS EVER! I have tried so many places, but JULIE is the BEST! She is so sweet, professional, accomodating, very clean/sanitary, uses top quality products, and does a meticulous job to make sure you are thrilled with the results! I have been seeing her regularly since 2009 and will go no where else! Very reasonable prices for the personalized, OUTSTANDING service and longlasting results! My sister lives in the area and had been raving about Jules for months. I recently went out to visit & decided to experience for myself. I am a tough client, both skin wise and in my expectations of a beauty professional. Not only is Jules a delightful person, she is truly a master when it comes to her facials. I came for a facial about a month ago due to the coupon in the Reader and some acne problems. I would say it was the best facial experience I have ever had. Julie was so nice and accomodating. She offered me a glass of wine when I get there to loosen my nerves. On top of the very relaxing facial I even got hands spa treatment where she massaged, moisturize and wrapped them with these warm hand wrap. I literally fell asleep.
