The work load is intense so make sure you take notes, ask questions and study, I had an amazing instructor who broke everything down to the T in very easy understandable ways that till this day I remember a lot of the stuff I learned. If your lucky like me and end up with Mr Ortiz you lucked out then. He is a very good teacher he really cares about his students. He will build up your confidence, he makes learning fun and help you understand the material. I definitely would recommend this place but you gotta put in your work as well.

My experience with Partners With Parents was not for my child but for me. With the birth of my…read morechild I wanted to go back to college to finish up my degree. I had to take placement exams in math and English. English, no problem, use it all the time. Math on the other hand was a different story. I used it at work sure but I didn't have to factor. Quadratic formulas and multiplying complex fractions were things I hadn't done in close to 20 years so I needed some help. I found PWP at the suggestion of a friend who had experience with them. I hired them for basically one intense math review session. I forget the name of the tutor I had but she was on point. Prepared, had hand-out's and give me a great review of what I should expect on the exam. I didn't pass but that was my own fault. I took the info she gave me and crammed the heck out of it and I just missed a passing score. Not bad I thought since it was almost 2 decades since I bothered to look at this stuff. I really should have have a few more sessions and I'm sure I would have nailed it if I had. It was the absolute values that did me in I think. At the time I would put down 2 for an answer instead of |2| for example and after I finally did learn to do ALL the math I remembered thinking that I had a lot of those types of questions on my test. So if you need a tutor for yourself or your child I would highly recommend them. I saw improvement after only one session but really should have planned on more. They suggested it but I was too stubborn at the time thinking I could do it on my own (and I almost did too). I'm sure they will be happy to answer any questions you have about any tutoring needs you may have for your kid(s).

This exam could potentially be life changing. My husband and I decided we would invest in a tutor but unfortunately most tutors were charging an arm and a leg. Not affordable for parents who are struggling. We found a website called Partners with Parents which stated in three words what we were looking for. I called on a Friday, got a return call on Monday and a bio of a potential tutor that same afternoon. Daniel was my sons tutor who had availability to meet with my son at least 2-3 times a week. The sessions were incredible and he gave my son homework assignments to complete. My son completed the exam on the 20th and I truly believe he did much better due to the tutoring sessions, I would recommend this service to parents everywhere.

With my final semester coming up for before I completed my Masters I was forced to take my last two classes at the Englewood Cliffs campus. Upon arriving to campus I was blown away by what it actually was. If you're a working adult who is continuing their education in the evening I'm sure you're looking for a school where everything is located on one floor. A place where if you need to see the advisor, dean, library, student lounge, and classroom are all within 5ft of each other. SPU is the place to go but only at the Englewood Cliffs campus. On one floor is all of these and much more. When I come to class a few minutes early I am able to heat up my dinner with the awesome microwave the student lounge provides, grab some snacks from the vending machine, or make a cup of coffee from the Keurig machine! Let's not forget about the most important part. The parking! This campus provides a parking lot that does not need a permit. The parking lot is not located across the campus but instead right outside the building where all of your classes are. I highly recommend attending the Englewood Cliffs campus if you are in any program. It is worth the drive and extremely convenient for the students.

However, at the time, the Bronx location (despite COVID recommendations) is a mini spreader event with sweating students packed like sardines in overcrowded makeshift rooms with NO windows, NO air conditioning, NO ventilation, NO temperature control, and, no natural light. It was appalling to witness how differently these two demographics were treated. Racism is rife in this company, which regards and treats its Latino and African immigrant Bronx students poorly compared to its white European expat UWS students.  The UWS location was spacious and boasted natural light, huge windows, and ventilation. However, the Bronx location had no windows or natural light and (despite COVID recommendations) no windows, ventilation, or temperature control, and was, simply, a health hazard. Students and teachers, alike, were packed like sardines and treated like animals in a zoo. As an instructor, I was completely undervalued and unsupported by the staff and management and in a situation, which had become untenable. If you want to work for a racist language school, which hierarchizes its students based on race and fails to back-up its teachers, then this is the place for you.
