While I had known what a traditional 'facial' looked like, I don't think the word 'facial' can at all sum up what Julia March provides. While a facial seems limited to maybe cleaning the skin on your face, with a benefit that lasts a few days; seeing Julia will help to strengthen the vitality of your skin long term. In addition to being a meticulous professional, Julia is so well versed in many integrative approaches to health. Her knowledge of the body and the skin is such an amazing resource. She if gifted in cranio-sacral work, homeopathic remedies, as well as always knowing the best products from around the world. In no way does Julia ever try to push products, on the contrary she has helped me arm my medicine cabinet with many simple oils and taught me how to combine them to help support my skin throughout the needs of different seasons. Julia is so caring, smart, and caters her work to the specific needs of each client. Julia is always very open to discussing how to create simple approaches to make my skin happy. Julia is very nice. She makes sure you're relaxed...so relaxed that you don't really mind paying the hefty bill. So relaxed that you think nothing of tacking on 3 products to the aforementioned bill. Yes, you think to yourself "I DO need a nice body buffer." You don't think "Hmmm, I could get the same one at Duane Reade for half the price." I was lured to Julia's office with hopes of transforming my skin for prices lower than Christine Chin. I stupidly read a positive Allure magazine mention (that said after one treatment the writer's blemishes were non-existant) and bought into it lock, stock and smoking barrel. I went a few times and my skin stayed the same. Apparently, Julia used to charge $400 bucks for a facial at her former swanky digs but her new place on Prince Street has a more pared down approach. Here, the facials start at $135 and go up to $350 or so. Bottom line: Julia March gives a pretty good facial but it's nothing fabulous. read more

I found Julia March in New York Magazine's Best Facial of 2010. I am so beyond happy I did! I have been going to Julia every 3 months for one of her fabulous facials. (She does all different kinds - depending on your skin type!) I've had problems with my skin (acne - especially on my forehead) and tried pretty much everything to help my problem - almost even using Accutane. At 21, I was done getting pimples! I felt horrible about my skin. Meeting Julia, everything changed. She believes in a holistic approach to your skin's health, and really gets to know your daily habits. She stresses how important it is to take care of your body and to be extremely mindful of what you put into your body and how to take care of it. From the carefully curated selection of totally pure, organic products she uses during her healing facials, to her AWESOME (seriously life-changing) massage, to her endless wisdom about skin -- Julia is the whole package. When I first started going to see her I was in my late thirties, and my skin was looking haggard, still acne prone, and just depressing me.
