Yihan is such a cute little spa. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The little waiting room where you fill out the waivers/forms is cute and relaxing, and they offer cucumber water (or some variation). The best feature, in my opinion, is the fire cupping. There aren't many spas in the city that offer fire cupping, and I find that it works better than the air cupping. I absolutely recommend this place. 10/10! I've only had a massage/fire cupping, but I've had friends who swear by the reflexology and other services provided. I'm always so grateful for her for recommending this place to me. read more

I've been to their other location on UES before and previously had a VIP package. After doing a few $55 for 60min massages elsewhere I decided to splurge for a better quality massage. I did a 60min deep tissue massage with Melody with an essential oil add on (not necessary), it was great and she was awesome. I think you can definitely do a regular Swedish and ask for hard pressure instead of paying extra for deep tissue. I recommend bringing cash to tip, so you're tipping for just the service vs tipping on top of the add-ons and on tax. With tip my service came out to $198, you can do cheaper massages elsewhere but you get what you pay for. read more

I purchased a Groupon (saved $10) for a 1 hour couples massage. The place was clean and service was friendly. I filled out a sheet with areas I would like them to concentrate and places to avoid. Before they start they show you a time to confirm you are getting a full 60 minutes which was nice as many places I read online ended the session early. This was more than your typical facial - it included a full back and chest massage (they ask you what areas to focus on and avoid beforehand), a deep scrub, some extractions, and a mask. Afterwards, I was directed to a full shower next door where I could rinse off and even wash my hair. I asked for hard pressure and Emily delivered, releasing a lot of tension in my neck/back. I dont usually leave bad reviews, i know it hurts the business. But these guys suck. I fell for the high yelp rating, but now im pretty sure a bulk were bots. 1) as someone else pointed out, they will aggressively tip-shame you, its quite shameless. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth when you leave. 2) the massage was really just mid. I did say hard but it just hurt, it was pretty obvious the guy was no trained masseuse. His nails also dug in sometimes, and he kept rubbing my hair up and it hurt. 3) the vip package says 1h 20m on their website and groupon listing but apparently its just 60min and a tea. Sucks if you already bought the groupon, cant change it. 4) There's a randomly added 15$ groupon charge at the end. Skip. There are better places that deserve you money. It's a beautiful spa filled with lemongrass aroma the minute you walk in. I got the Thai massage, but unfortunately half way through, my massage therapist was not receptive to my body's limits on her own. Thai massages are very stretch heavy, but at times it felt unsafe as she had a tendency to over stretch my body and kept pushing when my body wasn't ready or warm enough. I eventually had to tell her to stop and guide her, and she was responsive which I was grateful. But I became anxious that I was going to get injured or reactivate an old injury due to the overstretching that I couldn't enjoy the rest of the massage because I had to guide her. Just a heads up if you will be getting a Thai massage. They seem to have a lot of good reviews for other massages so I'd maybe try those instead. I have been here twice now for haitang massage with Wang. Yes, they upsold me on the package deal after my first massage. But it was such an incredible massage I just bought it. Massage two was even better. Wang knows how to target painful areas and adjusts his pressure to your toleration. I really like the cupping and gua sha. I've been here a couple times because of a package and will not be returning. The pros are that it's very clean and the massages themselves are not bad (except for this one experience where someone hit me). However their management team is extremely disorganized and run their operation with the sole goal of squeezing as much money as they can out of you while sacrificing customer satisifaction. As soon as you come in they swarm you and try to get you to upsell. Packages, add ons, jewelry they just pester you and won't take no for an answer Also if you're paying by credit card check the percentages for tip. I usually pay by cash but one time I ran out and when I went to put in a tip in the credit card machine the numbers were WAY inflated. The same time I also used Apple Pay and it went through (could see it on my phone) and the front desk was insistent that it didn't and said I needed to pay again. I told her I didn't want to get double charged and it definitely went through and showed her on my phone and bank account. She just said "ok do you want the receipt" and had the receipt in hand ready for me so I'm confused if there was a receipt why did she say it didn't go through Finally... I booked a later massage (7pm) with a friend and they asked the masseuses to stay later. It was at the end of her shift and she complained that she didn't want to because she lived far away and would miss her bus. Her manager was insistent and my friend and I felt uncomfortable and said we could come back the next day if there was no one available. The manager insisted that we go and as soon as I laid down the masseuse smacked me in the back of the head and complained tirelessly about how she wasn't supposed to be working. We ended the massage early and I complained to the front desk that she had hit me and he was apologetic and said I could not tip her if I wanted to but still had to pay the full price of the massage. I was completely in shock. You might be wondering why I went a couple of times like I mentioned I had a package and they don't do refunds. The owner may also comment and try to defend or say I was never there but I have the credit card statements to back it up and a friend who was there with me to collaborate read more
