Hands down the best massage I've ever had. "Why?" you ask. Buckle up. I ran in FLUSTERED. I was running late from work. Lukkana greeted me and told me to catch my breath. She set me up with some calming tea and brought me to a private changing area with a locker for my belongings. Everyone in the vicinity checked in to make sure I was doing ok. I was worried that because I had arrived late, I would eat up some of my massage time. No siree! They moved my massage to start when I was ready to begin. I booked the 90 minute Nuansa classic massage. You know how some places start the clock before you've sat down and finish the massage early (aka you pay for an hour and it's only about 45 minutes)? Well! That's not the case here! I got all 90 minutes of my massage. The massage itself: not to be believed. Lukkana started by saying "time to relax". And boy did I. Let me tell you one thing about me - I have the most ticklish legs of anyone I've ever met. Usually, when I have my legs massaged, I kick a hole in the wall and the masseuse files for a lawsuit (this is an exaggeration). Well! Somehow, Lukkana was able to work the muscles in my leg without triggering my dainty ticklish reflexes. I was astonished! Then, you know how sometimes you ask for a firm touch and you get jelly hands? Or the other way around and you're walking out with bruises? WELL - Lukkana made me feel immensely relaxed WHILE ALSO really working the tissue. What a novelty. She finished up with a scalp massage, which is truly the way to my heart. 11 out of 10. I went there as google search for massage and saw the great reviews last week. I got a swedish massage for 90 minutes. Yes, as other reviews stated that this place is serene and minimalistic on fancy spa. You enter in quiet place from the busy Manhattan noise. Everyone is courteous from the moment of entry. This is definitely a great hidden spot among the high end stores and tourist attractions. My massage therapist asked the type of firmness and areas of focus. My muscles felt relieved. They have one bathroom for female locker room which is small so I can imagine the wait if there was more than two people waiting to be changed and go the bathroom. I went mid afternoon on Friday and it was fine. I will have to see how it is after 5PM on weekdays. I will be coming again as it was a great massage for the price I paid. read more

I went here for a work event with my colleagues and it was a disaster. After we were changed into our robes and checked out shoes we were brought into a waiting room. In that waiting room, each of my coworkers were brought back to get their massage until the lady in charge came in and told me there was no masseuse to give me my massage. She was very rude and said things like "You seemed like you wouldn't care and you'd be understanding" while laughing in my face and "you're drinking! You don't care". She did not offer any remedy for the masseuse not being there and basically told me to suck it up. I would never go here again and I used to frequent. read more

It was like getting a massage at a corporate office - or at a cheap Asian massage. I had to ask multiple times for people to be quiet in the hallway. Not an enjoyable or relaxing experience at all. I talked to the manager / owner when I was leaving and she just said "Sorry, this isn't the best layout but I can't afford to reconfigure it properly." She didn't offer a discount or anything. For the prices, I recommend spending your hard-earned money at a proper spa. Note: I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 star because the people doing the treatments were pretty good. read more

After we found the spa (it's a bit hidden and in between two large department stores with no sign out front), you take an elevator to the 3rd(?) floor and you are there at the spa. The staff was very welcoming when we walked in and you could feel a sense of tranquility with the lighting and relaxing music - it helped set the mood! The facility was nice and there were several rooms available - I was surprised at the size! After we took our shoes off and swapped them for slippers, we were escorted to the changing rooms. There is one bathroom and one shower, and about 10 lockers for you to store your personal items. We got changed and went to the waiting room where we were given water and there were snacks to take. The masseuses were quick to meet us and took us back to the rooms to begin the massage. Overall, the massage was great! I was able to relax and the masseuse was good at working out a lot of knots that I had while using the right amount of pressure. After the massage was done, I was escorted back to the changing to get ready again. My only complaint is the value of the experience. Usually in other spas, there are other things you can do like the steam or heat room where you can stay for however long you want to relax and there is no rush. I felt a little like once the massage was done that it was time to leave and you couldn't really sit and relax for a bit. My friend and I came here one evening for an aromatherapy massage. It's literally a hole in the wall - I walked past it twice and had to double check google maps to make sure I was at the right address! You go in through a long hallway (no doorman - kind of sketchy) until you reach an elevator and you go right up to the 5th floor. Once the door opens into the inviting lobby, it's a completely different world. The staff is extremely sweet and inviting. They take off your shoes and give you slippers right in the lobby. Then they'll usher you into the changing rooms to get changed into a robe. It's good to get there at least 15 minutes before your appointment so you have ample time to shower, change, and munch on snacks and tea in the waiting room. We had 3 choices of scents to choose from for the aromatherapy massage: water, wood, and fire. Honestly, they weren't anything too special - and water and wood smelled exactly the same... while you're waiting, definitely pick up some little snacks like pre packaged nuts to munch on. It's a small seating area, so hopefully you don't go at a time when there more than 3 people waiting. Definitely try their ginger tea when they ask you what you want to drink!! For the actual massage - my masseuse was a sweet lady who was super attentive, asked if there were particular areas she should focus on, and at what intensities - so I guess very expected service. The 60 minute massage was very relaxing and soothing. The facial massage near the end could be better because they massage your hair with oil and THEN massage your face with all the oil from your hair!! In town for a last-minute getaway and a massage was in order. Great options, and an easy location to access despite being right outside of Times Square. The staff is so kind and friendly, and very funny. The amenities were very pleasant and they paid attention to detail for what you might need prior to or after your massage. As soon as you step off the elevator, they greet you with house shoes and then walk you to the changing room. Then you are greeted and walked to the waiting area with aromas to choose from, chocolates, and bubbles to compliment the chocolates. I had a 90-minute hot stone massage and she (Yan, I think was her name) worked out some serious kinks in my quads and calves - amazing! I spent $500 for my experience (massage + facial) today and did not leave feeling 100% satisfied. I'm actually annoyed because at that price, of course my expectations will be high. During my massage, people were loudly bantering outside my room in the hall and it was very difficult to relax. I had to ask the masseuse to go outside to ask them to quiet down, and it stopped to awhile but the bantering happened again later. If you are an establishment offering luxury experiences, certain things shouldn't need to be mentioned. I got the 60 min oxygen facial after work one day on a whim, was able to get a reservation for 5:15 later that day. Very nice and serene, they take your shoes and give you nice slides to walk around in. Beautiful bathroom with lockers for clothes and a nice robe. Would you believe me if I told you that a massage threw my wrist so badly off that I've had to make runs of NYU hand specialist, occupational therapists and have been told not to use my left hand for the next 3 to 4 months?! I was then taken to the relaxation room if you will, where nuts, dried fruit, and water were available. There was also 4 different oil choices. I filled out a quick intake form and my therapist arrived shortly thereafter. My service was deep tissue and my therapist were great. Right amount of pressure and check ins. The ladies room is fully stocked but fairly quaint. It was lovely as I was the only one, but not sure how it would be if it was busy or a large party. I guess everyone would have to coordinate as there is only 1 shower and 1 bathroom. Overall it was nice to get an appointment within a few hours. Nuansa Spa was THE BEST. I treated myself to a birthday massage and I have to say this spot is worth the hype and price. It will now be my birthday tradition. The elevator opens into the spa itself and there was a person who greeted me by name, took my shoes and gave me slippers, and offered some cold water. The locker room is small but very clean. There is only one shower and one toilet but I didn't have to wait to use either. In the waiting room you can pick your essential oil and have water or snacks while you wait for your masseuse. My masseuse was AMAZING. Ellen is super strong and listens to you, checks in with you, but also allows you to just sink into the massage. She posed questions around my comfort with being stretched out and how firm I liked my massages. I said firm and BOY OH BOY DID ELLEN DELIVER!! She must be half my size, and I am pretty sure every ounce of her strength was pushed into my muscles!! It hurts so good. I was SO relaxed afterward and the staff were the nicest. I really hate to say that I don't understand the rave reviews. I was very excited to try this place and unfortunately will not be a repeat customer. The staff were all extremely friendly and the place itself was very clean but that's where the positives end for me and my experience. For starters, the spa is in a very dingy run down building on the 5th floor without a working elevator. Second, the overall experience seemed very rushed from the moment I arrived to the moment my massage was over. Instead of a peaceful unwinding experience I felt anxious and rushed. The worst part was, I left in pain as my masseuse applied way too much pressure and my entire body feels extremely sore. I flinched multiple times throughout the hour and I started to count down for what felt like torture to be over. This is a huge disappointment especially given the price paid. I would recommend elsewhere if you are going to shell out to pamper yourself or someone else, you don't want them feeling rushed and leaving with achey sore muscles! Finding the *perfect* spot for a couples massage in NYC is tricky, between incredibly high end all-day spas and your standard massage parlor, it is difficult to find the sweet spot in the middle. This, my friends, is the sweetest of sweet spots. My wife and I were celebrating our five year anniversary (thank you), we were running early so decided to hang out in the lobby of the spa for about 30 minutes before our scheduled massage time. The incredible experience began as soon as we stepped into the elevator. Once the doors opened, it was immediately apparent that this spa was exactly what we were looking for. We were greeted by an incredibly kind and welcoming woman, who seemed genuinely excited that we were there and even that we were early. Luckily for us, she insisted that we wait in the lounge rather than in the lobby. We swapped shoes for sandals and were escorted to the changing rooms. Each room had self-locking lockers and were fully stocked with everything you could need. We changed into our robes and headed to the lounge where there were snacks and champagne waiting for us. The champagne was completely unexpected but was a very nice touch. After 10 minutes or so of relaxing in the lounge, we filled out our forms and chose our preferred essential oils to set the right mood. Shortly after we were escorted to the room by our therapists. My wife and I want different things out of a massage so I'll explain both experiences. Me: Sit at a desk all day, limited activity, just looking to relax My wife: Ultra athlete, ALWAYS working out, needs a lot of work on her muscles. My massage therapist worked through the session meticulously. She was thoughtful about every move she made and knew exactly what parts needed a little more attention. The massage had a very personal feeling to it, like I had been coming to her for years and she knew exactly what I needed. My wife's massage was "a beating" but in the best possible way. I could hear the classic shallow quick breaths when her therapist found a spot that needed more work, and there were plenty of them! I arrived at the spa kind of a hot mess, running late and couldn't find it and feeling stressed out. The door is next to the main 605 building FYI :-) I was greeted by a wonderfully warm and calming woman who took my shoes and gave me slippers to wear. I changed and locked my belongings away, then was given a gorgeous ginger tea And seated in the waiting lounge where I finally took a deep breath and chose the aromatherapy for my visit. I chose water, and it was gorgeous. I've had a pinched nerve in my neck for the last three weeks, causing pins and needles down my arm and fingers. She said she could probably make it feel a bit better but unlikely to fix it. The massage was amazing, just what I needed. Her work was firm, but never painful and I could feel my muscles unwinding. I was wishing it wouldn't stop, but of course 60 minutes was up by the time I realized that my pinched nerve was no longer pinched!
