Over priced and employee did not know her menu. She wanted to charge us for drinks when it clearly stated sandwich came with drink and was rude about it when I tried to ask about it. I would not even give it 1 star. $25 for 2 croissant sandwiches!!!! Will not return. Finally visited the bakery--have always been a fan of Julie's baked goods from the Farmer's Market. So lovely--location is perfect with a variety of small, independent businesses. Had the strawberry cream scone: perfect texture and taste. Daughter ordered the Quiche Lorraine which was heated and delivered to us while we sat outdoors. Hands down the best bakery in Austin. Julie Myrtille Bakery is in a class of its own. So many other shops in Austin claim to be French boulangerie but this is the real deal. Every thing I've had is delicious- the caramel in the crepe was perfect, the spinach and goat cheese omelette was divine, and the almond croissant was heavenly. I had missed them multiple times at their Springdale shop and was so happy to see them at the downtown farmers market. Now, they are the highlight of my market visit each week. read more

I want to love this place. The baked goods are really tasty (if a bit expensive), but the sign says open at 10a (a bit late for a bakery) and it's 1030a and they're still slowly putting out the items for the day. I get that they're new, but being this unprepared for opening and running a business when people are just expected to wait around with no idea when they might *actually* be open is really disappointing. I just watched a table of 3 guys who were waiting for the same amount of time get up and leave. My breakfast-mate and I have made the same choice. While we really wanted the quiche, after 30+ minutes, it's gonna be breakfast tacos from Medici today. Edit: opening hour listed for Saturday is actually 9am so being 90 min late without any sort of notice or apology or letting us know anything besides "soon" ("hey sorry we're running behind and won't be ready until 11" would have gone a long way) every time they brought another tray out has really soured us on this place. read more

We stumbled upon this cute little French Bakery while visiting in Austin. I have a thing for scones so I decided to try their Blueberry Scone. It was a little crunchy on the outside while the inside was soft and full of blueberries. Perfect to me!! My husband had the Feuillette. The pastry was light, buttery and sweet with a flavorful filling. We got a few more of both to go, along with a baguette. Defiantly will be stopping by on our next trip to Austin!! read more

The star rating is warranted due to being extremely expensive but being nowhere close to anything standout food/taste wise. The blueberry muffin didn't have good flavor and the chocolate croissant was nothing to write home about. $15+ for 2 croissants and one lame muffin. I was super excited to try this bakery as I heard good things. While I was standing there trying to figure out what I wanted the person behind the counter was coughing pretty bad. She was helping the person in front of me and coughing on her hand. I thought she would wash her hands before helping me but she did not. When it was my turn she was still coughing really bad and completely wiped her nose with her hand and then proceeded to ask me what I wanted. I thought for sure she would wash her hands before grabbing my items but she did not. And as she was back there about to grab my bakery items she was hacking up a storm all over everything. This was not a something in your throat cough. This was I am sick couch. I decided to not order anything as I honestly was so disturbed that for one she would come to work so sick. 2 have no regard to the customers she was helping by coughing all over everything and three not even wash her hands. Super disappointed and honestly pretty disgusted. Hopefully if I do decide to go back I will not have such an unsanitary experience:( as I was walking away someone who was standing by and saw what was happening said smart choice to not order anything. read more

These are the best pastries I have ever had! Julie Myrtille is a pastry chef trained in France, and it's obvious she has a passion and talent for high quality pastries. Her baked goods are locally sourced and made from scratch. I love the quiches (spinach, asparagus, and artichoke) as well as all of the pastry tarts (raspberry chocolate, raspberry almond). Her brioche is fantastic! You will not find pastries this delicious and this authentic anywhere else in Austin! Come to the Mueller Farmer's Market on Sundays from 10A-2P to taste her delicious treats. My only complaint is that I have not been able to try out her chocolate croissants yet because she is always sold out by the time I arrive!
