The overall cost was pretty affordable as well compared to other mechanics. Ken had great customer service was very friendly very patient and very well at explaining what's going on. He's very thorough and knows what he's talking about. I highly recommend if you ever need work done on your car to take it to this mechanic shop. Again this was by far the best experience I've ever had with mechanic work for my car.

After much running around…read moreand being told, by other places, there was an alternator problem or a fuel pump problem or whatever we took the car to LG automotive. The reason we hadn't taken it there in first place was her husband was trying to have it taken care of on Sunday. Ken and his staff, even though being very very busy, took my daughters car gave it a once over, put it on the machine and told her she was safe to drive back to Iowa. I have always had confidence and great service from LG automotive. This is just another example.

Recently had my car towed to this shop after a previous positive experience. I had my car towed…read morethis weekend due to leaking fuel and it was discovered that my fuel tank had a puncture and required a replacement. Given that I had hit something the day prior, I wanted to work with my insurance due to the cost. My insurance estimator had an estimate $400 less than what the shop's estimate was. My options were to leave it with Lake Villa Tire & Service and pay the difference or have it towed elsewhere. I contacted the shop and spoke with Mike in the hope to ask some questions so I can make an informed decision to leave it there or have it towed elsewhere. Before letting me speak to ask my questions or inform him of the intent of my call, Mike went through the estimate (which I had a copy of already). He then ended the conversation with "put it this way, it ain't my car so I'm not paying for it" referencing to not eating the cost difference. I voiced my discontent with the conversation and tone in which he said "I'm not trying to beat you up over this." Not once did I ask him or the shop to eat the difference. I was hoping to ask questions on where the discrepancy was mainly so that I can decide if I would be willing to pay the difference myself to give business to a local shop. Rather than listening or allowing me to ask questions he wrongly assumed my intent was to get him to eat the $400 difference. Needless to say, I am having my car towed elsewhere & will never return here. Due to my experience, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. I can totally understand that he has dealt with insurance companies often enough to be in positions like this before, where certain customers may expect the shop to eat the difference. My dissatisfaction is not based on the price difference between the shop and the insurance estimate, it is tone, the words he chose to use, and the wrongful assumption of the reason for my call. Honestly, for $400 I likely would have left it there vs. having it towed elsewhere and starting over. I need my car back.
