Posting a concern about the dangerous driver with Dave's Towing that has occurred on multiple occasions. On three occasions in the last year, this company has either cut off my family car with our family inside or cut off other drivers on the road, both local streets in Northbrook, Ilinois and on Highway 41 N and in Deerfield. I spoke with Jordan this evening after he failed to use his turn signal on two occasions in front of us in the dark and cut in front with no warning. Had a police car been present, he would lose his license for this kind of reckless driving. The other times were even more severe. Speeding and weaving in and out of cars with the massive flatbed truck and finally on 41 Northbound last year, traveling literally over 80 mph going in and out of cars. I hope that Dave who is the father and owner can stop this from happening again and I would be more than happy to remove this complaint or give them a 5 star rating. I know Dave is a rough guy at times, but this is not acceptable driving behavior from either his son or himself. They can be very helpful guys and should know better. Thank you. read more

I was stranded with a flat tire all by myself. I was heading north to Green Bay. Not knowing what to do, I called the nearest towing. Jordan was there within 15 minutes to assist me. Unfortunately, my vehicle did not have a spare, by Jordan towed me to Just Tires to get a new tire! I could not have felt safer with Jordan helping me navigate through the mess. Just witnessed the driver of Dave's Northshore towing continuing to honk at the driver in front of him at 22 and Rt. 41 to turn right to go south, as alot of cars were approaching, he was yelling at the driver and then pulled around him to go south. I called the number on his truck and was connected to that driver, (thought it would be the office) WOW, he started yelling at me and to me to get my f*%&'in head out of my #ass, guess he thought I was the driver of the white jeep! Something really dumb happened to us. Well, let's just say we did something really dumb, and we sure did pay for it. It's quite possible that, according to our children, we are now the most uncool parents in Highland Park. Hubby and I drove to the Jewel grocery store on a late night run before it closed. It was around 11:30pm. After finishing up, we decided to have a little STUPID fun in our SUV and drove through the fairly unplowed empty Toys 'R Us lot and thought we'd drift like cool kids. My hubby got this idea that we should do doughnuts in an unplowed area, and it turns out there was hidden ice under the 8" of snow in the lot. We got stuck! I mean we were literally stuck! The Jewel let us borrow their shovel, we bought salt, the police came and tried to help give us a push, but we were freaking stuck. It was 9 degrees, we were down to two miles of gas, and the cops called Dave's towing for us. Within 15 minutes, Dave (?) showed up and he even had a hard time backing into the snowy lot. He winched us out of the spot. We then got stuck a second time in the snow, and he had to back up again and give us a second pull until we finally got out of the deep icy lot. In all honesty, this may have been the best (most expensive) date I've been on in awhile with my hubby ($184). I know he felt like a stupid idiot (kids at home alone at midnight), and I was literally cracking up every single time he kept going back to jewel to bring more bags of purchased salt. We failed at everything. Towing services can vary, and it seems like everyone has a different experience, but ours was a total win with Dave's. We got home 45 minutes later with our gas gauge on 0! Also, thanks to the Highland Park cop who waited around to make sure we got unstock and out of that unplowed lot. read more

Car got towed, and when I went to pick it up, I found out they'd closed at 5 (website says open 24 hours). Since they'd closed, I was charged an addition $60 to get my car, which brought my total to $310 to have my car towed less than a mile away. Not only was it $310, but they required it to be in cash with exact change. Outdated business practices and I'll certainly never use Dave's (willingly). read more

Dave came from recommendation from an antique car restoration shop. I'm at Dave today as he picked up a 1962 collector vehicle for me. He was timely and professional. The vehicle was picked up and dropped off at the shop with no incidents. Truck was clean and he was very careful while pulling the vehicle out of the garage with a tow hook is the vehicle is inoperable. Robbers, Thieves, Liars - Gave an already high quote for towing - Almost $100 high, but quoted my wife $205 total price (she did it even though it was sky high just to be finished with it) - When son of owner got to destination, he added another $60 for "mileage, toll, labor" I called back the father who claimed the son told my wife that it could go up. My wife confirmed that he never said it could go up or she would have asked How Much? They came as a referral - I am calling the company that referred to relay the story of these Robbers & Liars. My car broke down on the Edens Spur during rush hour, and I needed to get it taken care of quickly. I called Dave's, and they answered the phone right away. They asked the right questions to make sure they could easily locate me and then texted me the contact information for a couple of nearby mechanics, since my local mechanic was too far away. They arrived quickly (within an hour), took me to an excellent nearby mechanic, and even arranged to have the towing billed through the mechanic. The freaking worst. I just got into a car accident, in a lot of pain, phone about to die and I need to make calls because hey I was in an accident and these ignorant people wouldn't even allow me to take my damn phone charger. My money, debit cards and everything was in the car and the guy kept saying I can only get in to grab my insurance and to back away until they verified it was full coverage to take my belongings. Then claimed they were on hold but I called and they picked right up. These people are full of crap and what they are doing should be illegal. I pay $400 a month for a car an idiot hit me head on and damaged and I had no choice in who towed my car because I was in the hospital and you tell me to step away from my car? At the point I was pissed and ready to ring someone neck out. I absolutely hate this place, how they operate, their staff and everything about it. Than had the nerve to tell me I had to pay them $380 to take any of belongings out until I said something about being in an accident if I had never said anything they would've had me pay them to get belongings out my car worth more than that damn tow. This place is a joke and I would never ever recommend anyone to tow here even if you are dying if you're able to pick up a phone call your own tow man and tow anywhere else but here. I just returned home for 4 days out of town only to find that my relatively new car was deader than a door nail. I contacted Muller Honda Service (fabulous team) to get a reference for a road service company. Muller suggested Dave's Northshore Towing. OMG - they're incredible!! I called and got an extremely friendly gentleman on the phone who said "no problem - I can be there in 15 to 20 minutes". WOW!!! When he arrived, he was very pleasant, professional and had my car started in no time flat. He advised me very appropriately on how to handle the situation from there. Amazing, fantastic service! Great towing service! Lost the key to my car, it's winter time, cold, windy, night out and I have my four yrs old with me too. Dave showed up in about 10 minutes, towed my car to the dealership, made sure we got inside and are comfortable,brought my little one some snacks and even showed us where the restroom was.
