Honestly one of the best brunch meals I've had in a very long time! We did bar seating and it was nice to see the open kitchen and watch everyone's meals being made - we even briefly chatted with one of the cooks. Both the cook and our waiter were super friendly. We started with a latte with oat milk and a mexican hot chocolate - both were SUPER delicious. Next, we shared the pastry basket - we were afraid that the pastries would be dried out/boring but it was a great decision to get it! We had an earl grey scone, some type of apricot brioche, and a white chocolate/raspberry pastry. They all tasted delicious - a must!! Next we had the breakfast tacos and beans on toast. According to the cook, the beans on toast was super popular and was his favorite dish - we can also attest that it was delicious. This was my first time eating at Juliet. The inside decorations are very cute - gives off a diner and coffee shop vibe. Restaurant itself seats a surprising number of people. My friend was able to make a reservation ahead of time so we only had to wait a few minutes while they were clearing off the table for us. We absolutely loved our waiter - he was very attentive, patient, and fun :) I ordered the burger with an egg added to it. When ordering, I wasn't asked how I liked my burger cooked (maybe they just default to well done). The burger itself was underwhelming, especially for its price. The patty was very well seasoned & the gruyère added a great touch. My biggest grievances are that the aioli was too light in flavor (so I added tons of hot sauce and ketchup to it) & the bottom bun arrived super mushy from the juices and oils from the patty (which got all over my hands). The homefries were 7/10 in flavor - tasted like it had some citrus zest in it, but bigger cuts of potato didn't have much flavor because it was so large. Unprofessional and rude service tonight. I have enjoyed going in the past for Sunday dinner and experienced past staff as kind and professional but tonight's meal and service were disappointingly substandard. There was someone new at the host stand, a blonde woman with side-swept bangs and an aggressive/overbearing vibe whose friendliness immediately came off as fake, not the usual nice young man who's been there in the past. I was placed at the bar because it was busy (close to 7). I could live with that. But I had to send back the pappardelle with braised pork I had ordered because it was swimming in tomato sauce so deep the dish resembled tomato stew, and the pasta was much too soft. It was also way too hot, almost as if it had been microwaved. The sauce could have been great but it was ruined by the way it was served. It had no resemblance to a pasta dish in an Italian restaurant, and seemed to be put together by someone with minimal cooking experience--like a kid cooking for their parents. I was really glad to be allowed to order something else. I had to call out to the server from the kitchen for this because no one came by to ask how my food was. When I was finished with my salad no one ever came over to remove my plate though others around me were being attended to, being asked if they were done etc., and I was only asked by the impatient bartender with the ponytail who seemed annoyed by my questions and gave me a fake tight-lipped smile when he took my order, how my meal was when I was done and about to ask for the check. He had ignored me during the entire time I was sitting at the bar, after he took my order, though he regularly went to other customers to ask if they needed anything and how they were doing. Hostess came over to the bar where I was seated 1/2way through and refilled the water glasses of the couple next to me who came in after me, while ignoring me and my water glass. She reacted with defensiveness when I called out to her--the restaurant was quite loud and she was about to walk past and ignore me again--and asked for the aioli that the server from the kitchen forgot to bring me. Not once until the very end of the meal did anyone seem to remember on their own that I was there. This is especially galling when they automatically charge you a service fee, so staff get tipped a standard 20% when they actually carry out 0 service in a discriminatory way. Not sure why I was being singled out--because I came in alone?--but there was definitely differential treatment tonight, which is highly distasteful and unpleasant. This, especially when I was asked by the hostess to move after I started my meal to allow the couple--who got to leave earlier than me because they were being served and I had to keep asking for my service--to sit next to each other at the bar. I've never encountered this level of rudeness and unprofessionalism before in a restaurant. Next time will go to Giulia's in Cambridge for much better pasta and more grown-up service. Went to Juliet for dinner last Thursday with a friend and was super impressed! The space was way bigger than I thought it was from having walked by many times and inside the the space is lovely and still cozy-feeling, the hostess was friendly and welcoming, and the food and drinks were delicious. You could definitely have a bigger group meal at the big table they have in the back. It was fun to see the chefs at work in the open kitchen! What has happened to Juliet?!? Have eaten there 5 or 6 times in the past and always had a good meal at a fair price. This time it was the complete opposite. Went for an early dinner and was seated in the front along with 4- 5 other groups/couples. The tables are very close here, and with all the open tables, we got jammed together. It was also a very hot day, and this area was significantly warmer than the rest of the place. Add in the flying bugs (termites?), one that landed in my wife's meal and another in my wine. My wife had the prix fixe, and I ordered the steak. My wife's dishes were OK but my steak was way past the medium rare I ordered. The 2nd steak, while closer to medium rare, it was both lukewarm and terrible. It was a very poor cut of meat and I could only struggle through about half of it. The arugula salad was also past its prime. The fries were good. The server said nothing when she picked up the plate, even with all the food left. We got the check and left. The restaurant immediately transports you to Europe with its very clean and bright ambiance. I wish there were more places like this in the area. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the salad and the mussels. Juliet offers a unique fusion of Italian and French cuisine, blending the rich flavors of Italian dishes with the refined techniques of French cooking. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. Highly recommended. They didn't have the pasta shape listed on the menu and took a while to prepare it. They asked if I would prefer spaghetti, but I wanted the unique pasta experience on the menu, so I waited. Although it took a while, the owner personally apologized and offered us a free appetizer. The salad was also excellent. The food is good, though not spectacular. I would go back for the ambiance and the good food; perhaps next time I'll stick to appetizers and wine. read more

Right as you walk in you are greeted by a very cool aesthetic. That's about where my praise ends though, the service took a really long time, I actually got my food before my drinks it was that bad. When I got my food (the french toast) it was dry, flavorless and definitely not worth $20. The bathroom was run down and clearly not well maintained and the toilet paper was falling of the wall. One of my favorite restaurants! I've been for brunch and dinner and I gotta say, both are magnificent but the brunch is truly out of this world! Highlights from brunch include the earl grey scone, which was the perfect balance of crumbly and soft (not unpleasantly dense like most scones) and the caramelized grapefruit. I normally try not to order omelettes at a restaurant because I can make a pretty good omelette at home. But their version was next level -- not your average omelette. So light and fluffy! Breakfast Tacos were decently good, but did not live up to the expectations. For dinner, I had the hake meunière. It was perfectly cooked, flaky white fish. The flavors were *chef's kiss* Meanwhile, the socca (chickpea crepe) was not very appetizing on its own. The ambiance is always on point! It kind of feels like you're eating at your cool friend's house. The service was great and it feels good to be supporting an establishment that pays its workers fair wages. This place is a great choice if you're looking for fantastic tasting food while feeling good about what you're eating! Heard great things but was very disappointed by complete lack of service. This place adds a 20% service charge to every check and it has clearly removed every incentive for the staff to provide a quality dining experience. We waited 20 minutes to put in our drink order, 40 to put in our food order, and another hour to get our food. I watched our drinks sit on the bar for 15 minutes before the server brought them over to the table. I am a generous tipper but service was so bad a 10% tip would have been an act of charity. To get the bill and se a 20% service charge made me gag. Server also mixed up our food order and we had to sort it out ourselves. It's definitely a more focused culinary concept, with the food primarily inspired by Nice in the French Riviera. However, the food was hit or miss for me. Came here for breakfast before the brunch menu during our trip to MA, and while it was more limited, we wanted to try this place. We sat at the bar and could see the chef making the food and prepping. We got the toast with tomato and potato tacos. There are vegetarian options! What I loved about all the food is that it looked unassuming, but the flavor is just so delicious. The olive oil on that toast was so good, and I loved it despite all the simple ingredients. The breakfast tacos were delicious as well and came with a little tomato sauce. Used to be so charming and delicious but the new space feels like a millennial cliche and is crowded- noisy. Everyone squished into a small L. The laid-back lovely feeling of the early space has been sacrificed to just get people in and out and the food is disappointing. My husband and I arrived at Juliet just after the restaurant opened on a weekday. Though the restaurant was not completely empty, I would say the timing was perfect if you want to enjoy the restaurant quietly to yourself. We purposely selected a weekday so that we can enjoy a cup of coffee and a light breakfast before heading into work. You will find most reviews will refer to Juliet as a Euro style cafe. For someone who have never been to a cafe in Europe, I have nothing to compare Juliet to. We didn't wait too long to be seated. We scanned the limited breakfast menu and put in our orders. Had we came at 11, the brunch menu would give us more options. The Petite Breakfast drew me to Juliet. The iconic pictures of two soft boiled eggs each sitting on porcelain cups had me sold. The eggs are soft boiled, cooked in their shells, unlike coddled eggs which is typically cooked inside these cups. If you look closely at the porcelain cups, there is a lid attachment piece. Coddled eggs, similar to poached eggs, are cooked without their shells in these special containers with lids. As for the petite breakfast, you have a soft boiled egg cooked in its shell instead and you are given a small spoon to crack the eggs. My husband and I also ordered the salmon toast and the French toast. Both were delicious and filling. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was their Matcha latte and I am comparing it with a Japanese cafe that I go to often. I wished I had tried their cappuccino instead. I would order their dripped coffee again. Overall, great service and a great place to sit down for a cup of coffee and grab a bite. Our server (Dave? Steve?) said he would take care of us, and that is what he did. We felt pampered! We were impressed with how competent and unfrenzied all the staff appeared. It's a little odd having the kitchen right in the middle of the dining space - definitely felt like we were right in the midst of things with the staff, like guests at a friend's party. Food was very tasty, especially the mussels! We appreciated that the chefs were able to accommodate our special requests. Most of the dinner entrees had too much butter for my taste, but I guess that's what makes it a bistro. read more

This was a random place i chose to go because I was craving for a dessert and coffee. The place is so cozy and pretty! I was greeted by their wonderful staff, Marissa (a huge shoutout!). Unfortunately, they did not have desserts and i just ended up ordering a coffee. Marissa got me some out of the world rose cookies to taste! Oh so delicious and FRESH. Since it was too early to have dinner, i got corn on the cob, and now i was wondering there can be nothing great about corn. But I was wrong. The menu is really small and limited (guess I should have checked that before hand) which would have been fine if the food was actually good. I got the omelette and it really was nothing special. The cheese and fried mushrooms felt too heavy and the really simple balsamic salad does nothing to break the heaviness of the food. Also the portion size was way too small for the price. Great option for date night and upscale and yet still casual enough dining spot in an unexpected Union Square neighborhood. The restaurant itself is small, so if you are stopping by for dinner, you'd probably do better if you have a reservation here (esp if you want to go for a fix prixe dinner menu). They do, however, accept walk ins for dinner at the bar too though..so you can take a chance to stop by anf see if you can get on that way. What I loved about this restaurant and the love and adoration of the restaurant that shone through the staff there. I supposed that's what happens when staff is paid above minimum wage and the profit sharing concept really creates a sense of pride and ownership of the restaurant...which eventually translated to positive customer / diner experience. I had a chance to dine on a fixe prixe menu re: tracks north, Quebec inspired cuisine and thpifg the variety of dish O fferred was good! Although the whole dinner took a little long and some toming of the dish could have been better, the portion and quality and selection of food was great! I definitely felt full and satisfied after my meal. Given such a positive experience dining here, I would definitely keep this restaurant on my list to suggest to any of my dining companions who are looking for a nice, cozy spots to try out in Somerville area. This is really cute, quaint place in Union Square. I went for an early dinner with friends. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel very welcome. I had a couple of glasses of a sparkling rose which was really good and the lamb burger. The bun was the size of a golf ball which was odd (and didn't have the greatest taste) but I thought the meat and 'fixins' with it were pretty tasty so I didn't miss not having the bun. If you haven't been to Juliet and are either living or visiting the Boston Area look no further. This is by far my favorite restaurant in the area and my go-to spot on the weekend. From the service to the food to the selection of cocktails and wines, you cannot go wrong. My personal favorite is their Chicken Milenasa Napolitana style. If you're looking to do something special I would recommend their prix fixe menu which is thoughtfully crafted and extremely delicious. Great for a date night, dinner with friends, or a solo night out! Plus they just opened the social club next door which has a great selection of wines and snacks! read more

We had the Brooklyn omelet with salmon and crème fraîche, breakfast tacos, and the strawberry rhubarb danish. The omelet was the best thing we ate but the potatoes were hard and lacked seasoning, with only a faint hint of horseradish. The tacos - soggy, under-seasoned. The danish was good but the Entenmanns from the local grocery store would have been just as good. Sunday supper was fantastic. The theme was "End of Summer Supper" and featured a vegetarian menu with lots of super fresh tomatoes. The main supper tray came with corn salad, vegetable skewers, and a tomato pie. This tray alone was filling, and the supper also came with sourdough bread and butter (the butter was so good!) and a peach cobbler for dessert. I also ordered a latte with dessert and that was a smooth, creamy, and delicious complement. The supper came with a lot of food for $36. All the food was fresh and tasty, and the tomatoes were so sweet! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and service was great. I love the concept of an all-day cafe here at Juliet and will definitely come back for brunch, lunch, or a cup of coffee when I can get out to Somerville. read more
